Accepting Happiness and Love

What makes this world seem real except your own denial of the truth that lies beyond? What but your thoughts of misery and death obscure the perfect happiness and the eternal life your Father wills for you? And what could hide what cannot be concealed except illusion? What could keep from you what you already have except your choice to see it not, denying it is there?

The Thought of God created you. It left you not, nor have you ever been apart from it an instant. It belongs to you. By it you live. It is your Source of life, holding you one with it, and everything is one with you because it left you not. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love. Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind, because the Thought of God has left you not, and still abides with you. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 165, W-pI.165.1-2. The world we experience with the body is the denial of the Thought of Love that created us. But the Love of God is still ever present, whether we are aware of It or not.

Forgiveness, letting go of the denial of Love, clears the way to experience the Love that we are. The practice of opening to the Holy Spirit’s vision always shows us the Love beyond the appearances of the world. It undoes the mistaken perceptions that give us the appearance that we are alone and separate.

Holy Spirit will always lead us to increasing awareness of the certainty of changeless Love, the joy of receiving and extending Love, the innocence of Love, the harmlessness of Love. Love always holds us in Its sure protection of our Identity as Love.

Today we practice giving our attention to Holy Spirit’s inspiration, that we may be messengers of Love and peace.

The Goal of Truth

In any situation in which you are uncertain, the first thing to consider, very simply, is “What do I want to come of this? What is it for?” The clarification of the goal [of truth] belongs at the beginning, for it is this which will determine the outcome.

The value of deciding in advance what you want to happen is simply that you will perceive the situation as a means to make it happen.

The goal of truth requires faith. Faith is implicit in the acceptance of the Holy Spirit’s purpose, and this faith is all-inclusive. Where the goal of truth is set, there faith must be. The Holy Spirit sees the situation as a whole. The goal establishes the fact that everyone involved in it will play his part in its accomplishment. This is inevitable. There is only one goal that has any true meaning or value, and that is the goal of truth. The way we come to the truth is through the Holy Spirit in our minds. The Holy Spirit always brings us to the truth when we let Him. The truth is we are one with God and still in God because we remain as God created us.

The Course reminds us, “God is but Love and therefore so am I.” This is true about ourselves and everyone. Eternal Perfect Love is all that is or ever will be. Letting ourselves be brought to the truth is the only thing that is truly important. Letting ourselves be brought to the truth is our practice for today.

Receiving and Giving Christ’s Vision

Christ’s vision has one law. It does not look upon a body, and mistake it for the Son whom God created. It beholds a light beyond the body; an idea beyond what can be touched, a purity undimmed by errors, pitiful mistakes, and fearful thoughts of guilt from dreams of sin. It sees no separation. And it looks on everyone, on every circumstance, all happenings and all events, without the slightest fading of the light it sees.

And this you give today: See no one as a body. Greet him as the Son of God he is, acknowledging that he is one with you in holiness.

Each brother whom you meet today provides another chance to let Christ’s vision shine on you, and offer you the peace of God. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 158, W-pI.158.7;8:3-4;10:5. See also ACIM Lesson 158 Insights.)

Today we practice seeing past bodies to the one Mind of Love that is there eternally. We would see the truth today, letting illusions be replaced by opening to God’s eternal will. We see past differences today to the one Love that is always there. Here we find peace. Here we find joy. Here we find the truth.

We Remain in God and of God

Call forth in everyone only the remembrance of God, and of the Heaven that is in him. For where you would have your brother be, there will you think you are. Hear not his appeal to hell and littleness, but only his call for Heaven and greatness. Forget not that his call is yours, and answer him with me. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.III.12:1-4. We are waking up to the truth that we have not left God and He has not left us. We are not separate from God or different from God. Nothing has happened to change our oneness in God. We are waking up to the truth that God lives in every brother. God’s eternal Love is the truth about every brother. This is what remembering God means. Today we practice remembering that our brother is God’s Love. And how we see our brother is how we see ourselves.

Accepting the Gifts Forgiveness Offers

Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world.

God’s plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. Changelessly it stands before you like an open door, with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home, where you belong.

Open your eyes today and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell. In quietness it rises up to greet your open eyes, and fill your heart with deep tranquility as ancient truths, forever newly born, arise in your awareness. What you will remember then can never be described. Yet your forgiveness offers it to you.

In each now moment we practice opening up to Holy Spirit’s Inspiration… We listen and receive… We choose to let ourselves be led by Holy Spirit instead of deciding anything on our own… We relax… open up… and let our true Self take the lead…

Our true Self knows what is best for every situation… We are like a little child today, trusting our Father to lead the way… We let God’s peace and Love fill our hearts and minds… We are filled with gratitude as we welcome and receive all the help our forgiveness offers us as we go through our day today.

Learning to Teach Only Love

Teach only love, for that is what you are. (A Course in Miracles, T-6.I.13:2. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

How do we teach only Love? We teach only Love by removing the barriers to Love’s presence. This means we turn over all judgment, fear and guilt to the Holy Spirit to be undone for us. This ultimately leads to the undoing of the ego and returns us to our natural state of being in Love and nothing else.

While we identify with the ego, the belief in separation, we are incapable of teaching Love. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can become Love’s extension in the world. We teach Love by seeing only innocence. We teach Love by recognizing there is nothing to fear in truth. We teach Love by joining with the Love in our brothers. We teach Love by answering calls for Love with Love.

We dedicate today to letting the Holy Spirit undo our barriers to Love and teach us to give the Love we receive.

Being Love’s Messengers

To be in the Kingdom is merely to focus your full attention on it. As long as you believe you can attend to what is not true, you are accepting conflict as your choice. Is it really a choice? It seems to be, but seeming and reality are hardly the same. You who are the Kingdom are not concerned with seeming. Reality is yours because you are reality. This is how having and being are ultimately reconciled, not in the Kingdom, but in your mind.

God has lit your mind Himself, and keeps your mind lit by His light because His light is what your mind is. (A Course in Miracles, T-7.III.4:1-7;5:1. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Love created us like Itself, holding us eternally in the Mind of Love. Love’s Light enlightens our mind, shining away all shadows of illusion and showing us the Love that is everywhere. Love, by Its nature, is eternally extending. To extend, Love must be received. We know we have Love by giving It. This is how we experience having and being Love.

We dedicate today to letting Love guide our thoughts and all our doing, that we may be Love’s messengers.
