Love Is Gentle

Love waits on our readiness and willingness. It never forces or pushes us past our level of willingness. But our willingness is required for Love to enter and extend through us. As we receive an infusion of Love through our willingness, It freely extends to all because that is its nature. As we accept Love, It becomes our gift to the world and we are blessed.

Our practice today is to let Love’s gentleness wash through us, healing our minds and extending that healing to all. What a wonderful opportunity we have today!

We Invite the Quiet Mind Today

No matter what is happening in our life today, we can still go within and welcome the quiet peace of our true Self. The gentle quietness the Holy Spirit brings helps us see every experience we encounter differently.

In truth we are completely immersed in Love’s Presence. As we consistently open to this truth throughout the day, every situation is seen differently. We are able to see with the Holy Spirit’s vision as we give Him welcome. Holy Spirit’s peace heals our perceptions and we naturally extend the peace we receive. Here, in peace, we experience the fact that God is our strength and vision is His gift.

We learn that we do not require a special form or setting in order to invite the quiet Mind and receive its many blessings as we go through the day.

How Would Love Respond in This Moment?

Every single moment we have the choice between the thought systems of Love or fear. Our focus today is to pay attention to what we are choosing all through the day. Love brings peace, gentleness and happiness; fear brings tension, conflict and efforting. If we don’t pay attention to where our mind is, we can easily be led by the fearful thought system of the ego. But we can always choose differently.

Our prayer today is for help in strengthening our awareness of Love’s Answer in each moment. Love will lead us to the happy joining with Love and release us from the guilt of judgment. We choose freedom from judgment today. We listen to Love’s healing guidance. And we give thanks that what we ask for we receive. As we are willing to let go of the past, we receive the gift of Love that fits perfectly in the present moment.

We Are All Eternal Spirit

Today we practice accepting the fact that we are eternal Spirit… We practice opening our minds to this truth about ourselves… As we open to the truth that we are eternal Spirit, we also recognize that everyone is eternal Spirit… We let this change of mind be absorbed deeply… We let it replace the false ideas of separate bodies with separate lives… We let ourselves soak in this awareness today… This is what today is for—to let the truth return to our minds… We step back from illusions and give time to letting the truth return to our minds today…

As we practice this, we feel gratitude, peace and happiness the world cannot give.

Remembering Our Self

All we really want is to remember the Love of God, which is to remember our Self. This memory is restored to us as we forgive or let go of thoughts that we are separate from God or anyone. To remember the Love we are we must be willing to accept the Help given us by the Source of Love.

Our practice today is to hold our minds open in peace to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. With His guidance we will learn to see the Love beyond all appearances. As we accept that Love, we will remember the Love we are and we will recognize our brothers as one with us in Love. The Holy Spirit is always with us, offering His help for us to remember we are innocent and safe and have everything we need.

Learning to See Truly

Do you not want to know your own Identity? …Vision is freely given to those who ask to see.

Your brother’s sinlessness is given you in shining light, to look on with the Holy Spirit’s vision and to rejoice in along with Him. For peace will come to all who ask for [vision] with real desire and sincerity of purpose, shared with the Holy Spirit and at one with Him on what salvation is. Be willing, then, to see your brother sinless, that Christ may rise before your vision and give you joy. And place no value on your brother’s body, which holds him to illusions of what he is. It is his desire to see his sinlessness, as it is yours. And bless the Son of God in your relationship, nor see in him what you have made of him. (A Course in Miracles, T-20.VIII.2:1,10;3:1-6)

Sin and separation are synonymous. The body is an image of separation and is therefore an image of sin. Thus to see our brother truly, we must not identify him as a body. This means that we need to learn to disregard the images our body’s eyes show us and give full regard to the Holy Spirit’s vision. This is a radical shift from the values we have learned in the dream of separation. But it is the only way that we can learn to release our attachment to the values of the world and remember that we are only Love, along with all our brothers.

We ask, today, to receive Holy Spirit’s vision, moment by moment. Thus will we learn to recognize that our brother is not a body, but remains the Love that Love created Him to be. We will learn to see only innocence and thereby learn of our innocence. In this vision, we will find the peace we seek.

Seeing Beyond Appearances to Truth

Your brother has a changelessness in him beyond appearance and deception, both. It is obscured by changing views of him that you perceive as his reality. The happy dream about him takes the form of the appearance of his perfect health, his perfect freedom from all forms of lack, and safety from disaster of all kinds. The miracle is proof he is not bound by loss or suffering in any form, because it can so easily be changed. This demonstrates that it was never real, and could not stem from his reality. For that is changeless, and has no effects that anything in Heaven or on earth could ever alter. But appearances are shown to be unreal because they change. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.VIII.2:3-9)

While we believe we are separate individuals, we cannot see beyond appearances. We need help from beyond the thought system of separation to see the Truth that is hidden by appearances. The Truth in everyone is the one Self that God created. If we are willing to open our minds to the Holy Spirit’s vision, He will show us the changeless Love that is the Truth in every brother and ourselves.

This vision shows us only innocence, wholeness and changeless Love. Because it is changeless and whole, the truth of perfect freedom, health and total abundance is seen clearly.

From this perspective, it is clearly recognized that no appearance has an effect on the Reality of our brothers and our self. Forgiveness comes naturally when we realize that no appearance has any effect, harm is impossible, there is no cause for guilt and we remain Love as Love created us.

Today we again practice letting the Holy Spirit be our Interpreter of all appearances throughout the day.
