Opening the Door to Love

The gift of Christ is all I seek today.

What but Christ’s vision would I use today, when it can offer me a day in which I see a world so like to Heaven that an ancient memory returns to me? ²Today I can forget the world I made. ³Today I can go past all fear, and be restored to love and holiness and peace. ⁴Today I am redeemed, and born anew into a world of mercy and of care; of loving kindness and the peace of God.

And so, our Father, we return to You, remembering we never went away; remembering Your holy gifts to us. ²In gratitude and thankfulness we come, with empty hands and open hearts and minds, asking but what You give. ³We cannot make an offering sufficient for Your Son. ⁴But in Your Love the gift of Christ is his. Our true Home is a place of care, loving kindness and peace. Yet we do not experience this Home in this world. This is because, when we identify with the ego, we choose to accept its barriers to Love. We accept conflict as part of “life”. This need not be.

The forgiving eyes of Christ show us vision that reveals the truth of our Home in God’s Love. The passage out of the dream of conflict is through the door of forgiveness. We open this door by being willing to reconsider our judgments. As we are willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s help to reinterpret our perceptions, we open our mind to the Light of Love, which dispels the ego’s images of isolation and differences.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s help to let go of our mistaken beliefs and remember our Home in the Heart of God’s Love.

Love Sets Us Free

I came for the salvation of the world.

Here is a thought from which all arrogance has been removed, and only truth remains. ²For arrogance opposes truth. ³But when there is no arrogance the truth will come immediately, and fill up the space the ego left unoccupied by lies. ⁴Only the ego can be limited, and therefore it must seek for aims which are curtailed and limiting. ⁵The ego thinks that what one gains, totality must lose. ⁶And yet it is the Will of God I learn that what one gains is given unto all.

Father, Your Will is total. ²And the goal which stems from it shares its totality. ³What aim but the salvation of the world could You have given me? ⁴And what but this could be the Will my Self has shared with You? (A Course in Miracles, W-319. See also ACIM Lesson 319 Insights.)

To be saved is to be set free from all limitations. God gave His limitless Love to His Son. Thus He shares His purpose with His Son. The only meaningful purpose we could have in a dream of limitation is to free it from all limits. This is our purpose in the world as God’s Son.

In every moment we are free to choose Love in place of fear, to choose joy instead of sadness and peace instead of conflict. This choice is made moment by moment by our willingness to accept the Holy Spirit’s help.

Today we bring any perception that disturbs our peace to the Holy Spirit. With our willingness, we accept the Light of Love the Holy Spirit offers to shine away our differences and show us our oneness with the Love in every brother and our Father. Today we choose Love to set us free.

Reunion with Our True Self

This is a year of joy, in which your listening will increase and peace will grow with its increase. ²The power of holiness and the weakness of attack are both being brought into your awareness. …whenever you listened to His interpretation the results have brought you joy. ⁶Would you prefer the results of your interpretation, considering honestly what they have been? ⁷God wills you better. ⁸Could you not look with greater charity on whom God loves with perfect Love?

⁵Today, let us resolve together to accept the joyful tidings that disaster is not real and that reality is not disaster. ⁶Reality is safe and sure, and wholly kind to everyone and everything. ⁷There is no greater love than to accept this and be glad. ⁸For love asks only that you be happy, and will give you everything that makes for happiness.

You have never given any problem to the Holy Spirit He has not solved for you, nor will you ever do so. ²You have never tried to solve anything yourself and been successful. …⁷This year invest in truth, and let it work in peace. ⁸Have faith in Him Who has faith in you. We have the means to live in joy. We need only make it a priority to listen to the Holy Spirit’s Guidance all through the day. He will teach us to see beyond the dream of fear and disaster. He will help us see the reality of Love shining everywhere, unencumbered by dreams of separation.

As we accept the Holy Spirit’s help, we will let the false images of conflict dissolve in the Light of Love, which shows us unity and brings us peace of mind. Today, with the Holy Spirit’s help, we choose to see every brother truly. In recognition of our oneness, this will be a joyous day of reunion with our true Self.

Transcending Our Barriers to Love

There is nothing my holiness cannot do.

Your holiness reverses all the laws of the world. ²It is beyond every restriction of time, space, distance and limits of any kind. ³Your holiness is totally unlimited in its power because it establishes you as a Son of God, at one with the Mind of his Creator.

Through your holiness the power of God is made manifest. ²Through your holiness the power of God is made available. ³And there is nothing the power of God cannot do. ⁴Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems. ⁵It can do so in connection with yourself and with anyone else. ⁶It is equal in its power to help anyone because it is equal in its power to save anyone.

If you are holy, so is everything God created. ²You are holy because all things He created are holy.

When we identify with the ego, its barriers to Love imprison us in a world of lovelessness. But we have the power in our minds to dismantle those barriers. The Holy Spirit is ever present in our mind, ready to assist us to let go of our mistaken identification with the wish for specialness.

As we let the barriers go, the radiant glow of Love in our brothers is recognized. We learn that same glow is in us. We are not limited. The Love we are transcends the ego’s barriers. As we learn to identify with Love instead of fear, joy instead of guilt, we find the peace of God. It has always been with us. Only our beliefs made us unaware of It.

Today we accept the Holy Spirit’s help to open our self-made prison doors to move freely into Love’s oneness.

We Are One with God’s Unlimited Love

I follow in the way appointed me.

I have a special place to fill; a role for me alone. ²Salvation waits until I take this part as what I choose to do. ³Until I make this choice, I am the slave of time and human destiny. ⁴But when I willingly and gladly go the way my Father’s plan appointed me to go, then will I recognize salvation is already here, already given all my brothers and already mine as well.

Father, Your way is what I choose today. ²Where it would lead me do I choose to go; what it would have me do I choose to do. ³Your way is certain, and the end secure. ⁴The memory of You awaits me there. ⁵And all my sorrows end in Your embrace, which You have promised to Your Son, who thought mistakenly that he had wandered from the sure protection of Your loving Arms. God’s plan is the way of Love. It is our way, in truth, because we were created as Love by Love. We have accepted a false image of ourselves that seems to be separate from this Love. We believe we are unique, alone in a world of myriad, different identities.

The plan that only each of us can fulfill is to forgive the beliefs that we are different from the oneness of Love. Forgiveness is the letting go of mistaken beliefs to make way for the Love we are to shine freely. Our willingness to accept the Holy Spirit’s help to heal our fear-based perceptions paves the way for our completion of God’s plan to set us free from limitations.

We are no more limited than God is. We have all of His Love. All that He is, we are. Today we choose to follow the Holy Spirit Who leads to remembering that we are Love and nothing else.

Accepting Our Identity as God’s Son

My Father gives all power unto me.

The Son of God is limitless. ²There are no limits on his strength, his peace, his joy, nor any attributes his Father gave in his creation. ³What he wills with his Creator and Redeemer must be done. ⁴His holy will can never be denied, because his Father shines upon his mind, and lays before it all the strength and love in earth and Heaven. ⁵I am he to whom all this is given. ⁶I am he in whom the power of my Father’s Will abides.

Your Will can do all things in me, and then extend to all the world as well through me. ²There is no limit on Your Will. ³And so all power has been given to Your Son.” (A Course in Miracles, W-320. See also ACIM Lesson 320 Insights.)

When we identify with the ego, we believe in its denial of God’s unlimited Love. To protect its thought system, the ego builds walls to defend against Love. These walls prevent us from realizing that we have all the strength, Love, peace and joy that God gives without limit to His Son. In short, the ego is a limit on God’s Son.

We have the means to dismantle the ego’s walls. It is simple and effective. When we forgive our judgments, we welcome the Light of Love in our mind. Through the Holy Spirit, the power of God is available to us to support our forgiveness. All that is needed is our willingness to reconsider our judgments and accept help to see with the eyes of forgiveness.

Every day we have the opportunity to take down the ego’s walls and let the strength of God flow freely. His Love is never held back. As we accept It by joining with the Love in our brothers, we accept God’s power in our mind. We accept our Identity as His Son.

Letting Our Perceptions Be Corrected with Love

A miracle is a correction. ²It does not create, nor really change at all. ³It merely looks on devastation, and reminds the mind that what it sees is false. ⁴It undoes error, but does not attempt to go beyond perception, nor exceed the function of forgiveness. ⁵Thus it stays within time’s limits. ⁶Yet it paves the way for the return of timelessness and love’s awakening, for fear must slip away under the gentle remedy it brings.

³A miracle inverts perception which was upside down before, and thus it ends the strange distortions that were manifest. ⁴Now is perception open to the truth. ⁵Now is forgiveness seen as justified.

Forgiveness is the home of miracles. ²The eyes of Christ deliver them to all they look upon in mercy and in love. ³Perception stands corrected in His sight, and what was meant to curse has come to bless. ⁴Each lily of forgiveness offers all the world the silent miracle of love. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.13.1;2:3–3:4)

Belief can make a lie perceived as truth. Our identification with a body in a world of separation is wholly the effect of belief in what could never be true. We have convinced ourselves that we are what could never be in truth. These beliefs hide the oneness of Love from our awareness.

The miracle is the means we have been given to free ourselves from the effects of our mistaken beliefs. The doorway to the miracle is forgiveness. We are free to change our beliefs. Forgiveness shines a light where we have denied the truth. It opens our mind to accept the truth that we are Love and nothing else.

Today we accept with gratitude the Holy Spirit’s help to release our mistaken beliefs. We are willing to bring all our perceptions to Him for His loving review. He will disregard the false beliefs and show us they are not real. He will keep our perceptions of Love which demonstrate our oneness with every brother and our Creator. With His guidance we will awaken to our true Self as God’s one Son.
