In God’s Gratitude I Heal

Walk, then, in gratitude the way of love. For hatred is forgotten when we lay comparisons aside. What more remains as obstacles to peace? The fear of God is now undone at last, and we forgive without comparing. Thus we cannot choose to overlook some things, and yet retain some other things still locked away as “sins.” When your forgiveness is complete you will have total gratitude, for you will see that everything has earned the right to love by being loving, even as your Self.

Our gratitude will pave the way to Him, and shorten our learning time by more than you could ever dream of. Gratitude goes hand in hand with love, and where one is the other must be found. For gratitude is but an aspect of the Love which is the Source of all creation. God gives thanks to you, His Son, for being what you are; His Own completion and the Source of love, along with Him. Your gratitude to Him is one with His to you. For love can walk no road except the way of gratitude, and thus we go who walk the way to God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.195.8,10)

With forgiveness comes gratitude. I am never grateful for someone I judge. But when I have let go of judgment, I see the Love that is always there, and my heart is filled with gratitude. It is the natural response to the blessing that comes with joining with the Love that is our one Self, at Home in Love. The practice of applying ACIM in my life teaches me to be less judgmental, more forgiving. This clears the way for me to see past appearances to the reality of ever present Love. The more I forgive, the happier I am. Every day is a day of thanksgiving as I forgive.

Opening to God’s gratitude lifts the veil of my belief in separation. Here I am returned to oneness. Here I see that my brother is not a body. Here I see that it has merely been a projection that came with my belief in separate bodies. As I allow the veil to be lifted, the fact that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son returns to my awareness. And gratitude for every brother replaces the mistaken belief in separation. As I accept God’s gratitude I am healed.
