Learning to Welcome God’s Happiness and Peace.

God is your safety in every circumstance. His Voice speaks for Him in all situations and in every aspect of all situations, telling you exactly what to do to call upon His strength and His protection. There are no exceptions because God has no exceptions. And the Voice which speaks for Him thinks as He does. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 47, W-pI.47.3. See also ACIM Lesson 47 Insights.)

Think how happy and peaceful our day would be if we welcomed the Voice for God and followed Its direction. There would be no conflict because every situation would be lovingly guided for the highest good of everyone concerned.

Our vision, guided by God’s Voice, would see the truth in every brother — we would see every brother as extensions of God’s Love. Appearances of disunity or conflicting interests would be recognized as false images. The Light of God’s Love would shine through the false and show us the truth that only Love is real. We would rest in the certainty of God’s changeless Love and feel His sure protection.

All this is available to us now. All we need do is forgive the false ideas that present a world of fear and guilt. Best of all, we do not need to forgive by our own efforts. Indeed we cannot. But the Voice for God offers us all of God’s strength and all of God’s Love. As we are willing to accept It, we forgive the world and forgive ourselves. God’s joy and peace are recognized as our own and we give thanks.

Living in the Presence of Love

Today we have one focus — we focus on following where Love leads us.

We keep the truth of Love’s Presence in the forefront of our mind… We are willing to see past the barriers to Love to the awareness that, behind all forms of separation, which is illusion, only Love is real.

We let the eternal Presence of Love be in the forefront of our mind… We let ourselves feel the peace and blessings that come with remembering eternal Love is all that is real…

We give thanks and feel full of gratitude as we remember that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. We are eternally safe as Love in the Mind of Love.

Peace Comes with Accepting the Truth

Truth cannot deal with errors that you want.… Sane perception induces sane choosing. I cannot choose for you, but I can help you make your own right choice. “Many are called but few are chosen” should be, “All are called but few choose to listen.” Therefore, they do not choose right. The “chosen ones” are merely those who choose right sooner. Right minds can do this now, and they will find rest unto their souls. God knows you only in peace, and this is your reality. Being sane means knowing the difference between illusion and reality, and choosing reality. Thus the key to sanity is knowing what is real and what is not. The Course is offering us help to learn what is real and what is illusion. It can bring us to the brink of sanity, but we must make the choice for reality.

When we believe we are a body with a separate identity, we are investing our belief in illusion instead of truth. The effect of this investment is the perception of a world of separate images, which conflict with each other and with what we believe is our identity. It is a dream of conflict, attack and defend, fear and loss. Yet it is a dream and does not exist in reality.

As we practice applying the message of A Course in Miracles in our daily experience, we learn that our investment in maintaining a separate identity is bringing us nothing that we really want. It cannot bring us lasting happiness, peace and eternal Love. In fact, this investment leaves us with an empty feeling that causes us to search for something that will assuage the sense of lack of Love.

The Course is helping us see that the answer to this search cannot be found in the world. We learn that the world offers us nothing we really want. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can learn where to find what we really want. We learn to set aside the false images of the dream through forgiveness. This makes way for us to accept the truth and know the peace of God.

Remembering I Am as God Created Me

Father, Your Son is perfect. When I think that I am hurt in any way, it is because I have forgotten who I am, and that I am as You created me. Your Thoughts can only bring me happiness. If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are. I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts. The Thoughts I think with You can only bless. The Thoughts I think with You alone are true. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 281, W-pII.281.1. We have only one real purpose here and that is to wake up from the dream of being separate from our Father Who is all Love. Because in truth we are the Love of our Father, dreaming that we are something else is the cause of all our pain and sorrow.

As we are willing to return to Love, all pain and sorrow fall away. We recognize that we have just been mistaken and have joined with thoughts that could never be true. Now we are willing to join with Thoughts that only bless. Now we are willing to let our belief in separation fall away so that what is true can return to our awareness.

Today we focus on “remembering I am as God created me.” We joyously remember this for ourselves and every brother today.

I Will Accept My Part in God’s Plan for Salvation

In each five minutes that you spend with Him, He will accept your words and give them back to you all bright with faith and confidence so strong and steady they will light the world with hope and gladness. Do not lose one chance to be the glad receiver of His gifts, that you may give them to the world today.

Give Him the words, and He will do the rest. He will enable you to understand your special function. He will open up the way to happiness, and peace and trust will be His gifts; His answer to your words. He will respond with all His faith and joy and certainty that what you say is true. And you will have conviction then of Him Who knows the function that you have on earth as well as Heaven. He will be with you each practice period you share with Him, exchanging every instant of the time you offer Him for timelessness and peace. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 98, W-pI.98.8-9). The ego would tell us that to believe we have anything to do with salvation of the world is the utmost in grandiosity. But the Course tells us that denying our part in God’s plan is arrogant; it is saying we know better than God what we are capable of.

The Course also tells us that our part is very simple. We need only be willing to accept our part and He will do the rest. He will help us understand our function when we choose the Holy Spirit as our Teacher instead of the ego. As we remind ourselves of our willingness to accept our part in God’s plan for our salvation, He will teach us the way to happiness and we will be given His peace and trust.

Christ’s Vision Shows Us All Things Forgiven

Christ’s vision looks through me today. His sight shows me all things forgiven and at peace, and offers this same vision to the world. 

This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. I do not know the way to You. But You are wholly certain. Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 291, W-pII.291.1:1-2;2. By definition, the past is not now; it’s over. Yet we can conjure images in our mind based on what we believe happened long ago. These images cast a veil over the present, making us unable to see the brilliance of the present Love that we are. This need not be.

We have been given a gift that will show us the Light of Love beyond the veil of judgment. It is Christ’s vision which shows us a forgiven world, a world of innocence and peace. We can have this vision right now, but we need to be willing to receive it.

As we are willing to welcome peace in our minds, the clarity of Christ vision will show us the real world in which only innocence is seen. We will see a world of safety, kindness, helpfulness and lasting happiness. Today we would welcome Christ vision.

Holy Spirit, Help Me See as You See

The purpose of the world you see is to obscure your function of forgiveness, and provide you with a justification for forgetting it. It is the temptation to abandon God and His Son by taking on a physical appearance. It is this the body’s eyes look upon.

Only by fulfilling the function [of forgiveness — seeing past separate forms to the truth] given you by God will you be happy. That is because your function is to be happy by using the means by which happiness becomes inevitable. There is no other way. Therefore, every time you choose whether or not to fulfill your function, you are really choosing whether or not to be happy.

Let me not forget my function.
Let me not try to substitute mine for God’s.
Let me forgive and be happy.

Holy Spirit, I open my mind to Your healing vision… I want to see the world as You see it… I want to be truly helpful… I hand over all my belief in separate bodies to You… I am willing to see only the Light of eternal Love behind every separate body I see now.

Letting You show me the truth behind every form of separation I see brings me deep happiness and peace… I choose to be vigilant today to keep Your memory of the truth in the forefront of my mind… This is my practice today.
