Accepting Our Place in Love’s Oneness

Do not underestimate the importance of accurate perception for your life’s purpose. So long as perception proceeds from past associations, from memory and habit, so long will real understanding be absent from your life. Without authentic understanding, your mind will simply fluctuate within the narrow limits establish by the ego and accepted by you long ago. Perception must be purified, must be corrected, to free your mind from its narrow range of experience. This tiny space in which your life seems to take place is nothing but a dream of separation and limitation. To be separate from everything you see is to live in fear. To live in fear is to suffer. Is this what you want? You have lived in a state of fear and suffering long enough. Too long has Love and the healing It brings been absent from your life. This need not be. This need not be.” (from From the Christ Mind Book II, p. 185-186)

We have the means to escape from a life experience of uncertainty and fear, pain and guilt. It is the Holy Spirit, ever present in our mind, That can give us a vision that corrects our misperceptions, our false ideas.

Our experience of the world is the effect of what we believe is true. When we believe that we are a separate identity in a world of images, a fearful life experience is inevitable. But when we are willing to bring all our perceptions to the Holy Spirit for His gentle correction, we release ourselves to experience the gifts of love and peace and joy, given us by our Creator.

Today is another blessed day to practice letting go of past false ideas and accept our place in the oneness of Love.

Remembering We Are One with All Love

Yet since you do believe in [time], why should you waste it going nowhere, when it can be used to reach a goal as high as learning can achieve? Think not the way to Heaven’s gate is difficult at all. Nothing you undertake with certain purpose and high resolve and happy confidence, holding your brother’s hand and keeping step to Heaven’s song, is difficult to do. But it is hard indeed to wander off, alone and miserable, down a road that leads to nothing and that has no purpose. (A Course in Miracles, T-26.V.2:3-6. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Thinking we have a separate mind disconnected from God has no purpose and only brings misery and problems. In truth, everyone in this world is one in the universal Mind of Love. This is our one true Identity. We are totally united eternally and there are no differences.

There is no competition in Oneness. There is no winner and loser. We cannot harm or be harmed, and there is no death. God’s real world of Love is eternal life. We cannot change it, even though we think we can by dreaming scenarios of competition, conflict and isolation.

The only happy answer is to join with what is true. We are still as God created us. We have all of Love because we are united together as Love. We have not left our Source. We cannot change how our Father created us. We are done with wasting time on childish fantasies.

The Holy Spirit is there in our minds, waiting to bring us back to the awareness of where we are eternally, if we are willing to listen. Are we willing to remember we are one with all Love throughout the day today?

Freedom from Guilt Is Ours to Accept

The special ones are all asleep, surrounded by a world of loveliness they do not see. Freedom and peace and joy stand there, beside the bier on which they sleep, and call them to come forth and waken from their dream of death. Yet they hear nothing. They are lost in dreams of specialness. They hate the call that would awaken them, and they curse God because He did not make their dream reality. [They] curse God and die, but not by Him Who made not death; but only in the dream. Open your eyes a little; see the savior [your brother] God gave to you that you might look on him, and give him back his birthright. It is yours. (A Course in Miracles, T-24.III.7. We awaken from the dream of separation by seeing the truth in every brother. By seeing the truth in every brother, we give him back his birthright and simultaneously accept our own birthright. Seeing the Christ in every brother is the means by which we wake up from the dream of separation. Freedom from guilt is ours; we accept it now.

The Holy Spirit sees only innocence. As we accept His vision, we see the innocence in ourselves and our brothers. We receive Holy Spirit’s vision as we willingly turn over all our perceptions to Him to receive His interpretation.

Opening to a Change of Mind

God’s Teacher speaks to any two who join together for learning purposes. The relationship is holy because of that purpose, and God has promised to send His Spirit into any holy relationship. In the teaching-learning situation, each one learns that giving and receiving are the same. The demarcations they have drawn between their roles, their minds, their bodies, their needs, their interests, and all the differences they thought separated them from one another, fade and grow dim and disappear. Those who would learn the same course share one interest and one goal. And thus he who was the learner becomes a teacher of God himself, for he has made the one decision that gave his teacher to him. He has seen in another person the same interests as his own. (A Course in Miracles, M-2.5:3-9)

Because we are open to a change of mind, we will receive it. Our inner Teacher is always there, in our mind, waiting for our willingness to receive His teaching. As we are open, we receive the truth about ourselves and everyone in this world.

We all are still Love as Love created us. And this can never change. This is what we are learning and teaching simultaneously as we let the Holy Spirit work through us.

God’s gifts are always there, waiting for us to accept them as our own. Today we hold our minds open to Holy Spirit’s interpretation of all that we perceive. Thus do we receive a change of mind and turn every relationship into a holy relationship. We return to the Love we are and realize we have never left in truth.

We Welcome the Truth

My true Identity is so secure, so lofty, sinless, glorious and great, wholly beneficent and free from guilt, that Heaven looks to It to give it light. It lights the world as well. It is the gift my Father gave to me; the one as well I give the world. There is no gift but this that can be either given or received. This is reality, and only this. This is illusion’s end. It is the truth.

My Name, O Father, still is known to You. I have forgotten It, and do not know where I am going, who I am, or what it is I do. Remind me, Father, now, for I am weary of the world I see. Today we welcome awareness of the truth… Today we step back from our stories of the past and open instead to awareness of Love’s one Identity, which lies beyond every thought of separation… We would listen and not lead… We would follow and not decide anything on our own…

We let the truth come forth because we want it in our heart of hearts… We celebrate the truth today and let the truth of Love’s oneness replace illusions of separation… We are in great gratitude that our one true Identity as Love is true and nothing else is true.

Sharing God’s Peace

The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world.

The peace of God can never be contained. Who recognizes it within himself must give it. And the means for giving it are in his understanding. He forgives because he recognized the truth in him. The peace of God is shining in you now, and in all living things. In quietness is it acknowledged universally. For what your inward vision looks upon is your perception of the universe.

Sit quietly and close your eyes. The light within you is sufficient. It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. They know the way. For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself. We accept and give the peace of God by forgiving our illusions about the world we see. When we see a world of separate images, it is impossible to experience God’s peace. But as we let the Holy Spirit shine His Light on our perceptions, we see that those disturbing images have no substance. They fade away in the Light, and the peace of God grows stronger in our awareness.

As we accept this peace, we are motivated to extend it by the joy that comes with it. Today is a joyous day to practice letting the Holy Spirit’s Light shine away our misperceptions so that we may recognize God’s peace within and share it with joy.

Accepting the Gifts of Forgiveness

What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset?

All this forgiveness offers you, and more.

Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind. Today we practice stepping back and letting forgiveness lift the veil so that we see the Light of God in every brother. We acknowledge that of ourselves we do not know how to forgive. We remember to open our minds and hearts to receive the Holy Spirit’s vision in every situation and relationship. We are willing to accept His vision in place of our perceptions. Thus we make way for the gifts forgiveness offers.
