The Whole Sonship Is Safe in God’s Arms

I need but look upon all things that seem to hurt me, and with perfect certainty assure myself, “God wills that I be saved from this,” and merely watch them disappear. I need but keep in mind my Father’s Will for me is only happiness, to find that only happiness has come to me. And I need but remember that God’s Love surrounds His Son and keeps his sinlessness forever perfect, to be sure that I am saved and safe forever in His Arms. I am the Son He loves. And I am saved because God in His mercy wills it so.

Father, Your Holiness is mine. Your Love created me, and made my sinlessness forever part of You. I have no guilt nor sin in me, for there is none in You. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.235. See also ACIM Lesson 235 Insights.)

In the world it appears that we are constantly vulnerable to harm in some form. This appearance is just the out picturing of the inevitable fear that comes with belief that we have separated from our Creator, our Source of strength and peace and happiness. The belief in separation is the belief in a false image of ourselves that is weak, alone and incomplete. This false image must constantly be alert to protect itself. The sense of loneliness leads to a constant search for companionship and completion.

All this will disappear as we accept that we remain as Love created us. There is no loss in eternal Love. Having been created by Love, we have all Love, now and forever. We need not seek for Love, but only accept what Is. Forgiveness, letting go of the false idea of being separate, is how we remember that all Love is already ours. Through forgiveness, we see the Love and innocence in our brothers and recognize It in ourselves. We see the whole Sonship is safe in God’s loving arms.

There Is Nothing to Fear

Deep within you is everything that is perfect, ready to radiate through you and out into the world. It will cure all sorrow and pain and fear and loss because it will heal the mind that thought these things were real, and suffered out of its allegiance to them.

You can never be deprived of your perfect holiness because its Source goes with you wherever you go. You can never suffer because the Source of all joy goes with you wherever you go. You can never be alone because the Source of all life goes with you wherever you go. Nothing can destroy your peace of mind because God goes with you wherever you go. It is helpful to remember that we are completely protected by God. God is always there in our mind, waiting to shine a light on all our fears. The truth is God has given us all of Himself and there is no division between ourselves and God.

As we open up to the Love within us, we naturally radiate God’s Love out into the world. We feel calm and serene because we can see past the ego projections of fear and guilt to the loving Presence that is always there, behind the forms of separation we see in the world. We feel secure and at peace as we accept the fact that God goes with us wherever we go. There is nothing to fear.

God Dwells Within

All idols of this world were made to keep the truth within from being known to you, and to maintain allegiance to the dream that you must find what is outside yourself to be complete and happy. It is vain to worship idols in the hope of peace. God dwells within, and your completion lies in Him. No idol takes His place. Look not to idols. Do not seek outside yourself. (A Course in Miracles, T-29.VII.6. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

The ego will always direct us to look for some situation or relationship with images in the world to find our happiness, our safety, our value or completion. This is completely in keeping with the ego’s motto, “Seek and do not find.”

Our completion can only be found in our Creator. Our Creator remains eternally within us, at one with us. It is only within where we find our completion, our value, our safety and our happiness. It is there because it was given us in our creation. It is because God dwells within that our Self, our wholeness, our happiness and peace is certain to be found within.

Accepting the Love of God

The Love of God is what created me. The Love of God is everything I am. The Love of God proclaimed me as His Son. The Love of God within me sets me free. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.209.1:2-5. See also ACIM Lesson 209 Insights.)

Today our practice is to open up to the Love of God within us… Today our practice is to return to the truth that we are the Love of God…

As we accept our true Identity we naturally give It away, because accepting Love is the same as giving Love. The Course reminds us that giving and receiving are the same. As we extend Love we are receiving Love. This is how we feel the Love of God within us, which is there eternally. To experience the Love of God we need to offer It to everyone.

Choosing Peace Instead of Pain

It is very important that we see the ego for what it truly is. The ego offers a great adventure of individuality. It offers specialness and uniqueness and freedom to choose on our own. It values competition and seeing differences. It values seeing a world of separate bodies where nothing is the same. It loves to compare and evaluate as to which thing is most special and grand in the moment. It loves to make up hierarchies of specialness, of lower and higher, of good and bad, within its value system. Judging on its own becomes its life vocation, how it reinforces its individuality and specialness.

This thought system does not tell us that what it truly seeks for is guilt, pain and ultimately death. It hides these values beneath a gossamer veil of specialness. It entices its followers with trophies and wealth, special beauty and having more of something than another. It does not tell us that what it offers is merely illusions of specialness, merely illusions of separation.

The only way for us to find true joy and true peace is to see this thought system for what it is and let it go. The Holy Spirit has been present the whole time while we were seeking illusions of specialness, and is here in our mind now. The Holy Spirit is still in our mind, waiting for us to choose with Him. It is only by choosing with the Holy Spirit that the pain and sorrow found within the thought system of the ego is seen for what it is and gradually released. Choosing with the Holy Spirit lifts the veil of the ego’s illusions and shows us the truth. It shows us that we never left Heaven and that we are still as God created us. The dreams of separation never happened.

Today I choose to join with Holy Spirit. As I see what Holy Spirit shows me, I am awakened to what is real. With Holy Spirit as my Guide, I now choose peace instead of pain. “And which I choose to see I will behold.” (Excerpt from ACIM Lesson 351 Insights.)

Accepting Truth from Holy Spirit

All idols of this world were made to keep the truth within from being known to you, and to maintain allegiance to the dream that you must find what is outside yourself to be complete and happy. It is vain to worship idols in the hope of peace. God dwells within, and your completion lies in Him. No idol takes His place. Look not to idols. Do not seek outside yourself.

Let Him remind you of His Love for you, and do not seek to drown His Voice in chants of deep despair to idols of yourself. Seek not outside your Father for your hope. (A Course in Miracles, T-29.VII.6:1-6;10:5-6. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Today our focus is on following the inspiration of the Holy Spirit within our minds. The Holy Spirit is always there for us. Our job is to leave a clean and open space where He is welcomed. We do this by stepping back from the ego’s chatter and asking for Holy Spirit’s perspective on what appears to be going on in the world of separate bodies.

Our inner Teacher is always calling us to return to the truth of our Identity in God’s Love. As we increase our receptivity and willingness to listen, we find that inspiration is always there, right when we need it. The key is to step back from the world and listen.

When we remember that we do not know what anything means on our own, our willingness to listen grows. The Course tells us, “In quietness is every problem quietly resolved.” As we consistently step back and let our minds quiet, we find peace… we find certainty… and clarity… instead of doubt and conflict. The Holy Spirit is ever present. Our practice for today is to consistently receive and follow Holy Spirit’s inspiration.

Accepting Our Oneness in God

The beautiful relationship you have with all your brothers is a part of you because it is a part of God Himself. Are you not sick, if you deny yourself your wholeness and your health, the Source of help, the Call to healing and the Call to heal? …For healing will be one or not at all, its oneness being where the healing is. What could correct for separation but its opposite [oneness]? There is no middle ground in any aspect of salvation. You accept it wholly or accept it not. What is unseparated must be joined. And what is joined cannot be separate.” (A Course in Miracles, T-28.VII.2:1-2,5-9. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Accepting our oneness in God is at the core of our awakening. God created us as one with Him and one with every brother. God sees no separation. Our perception of separation is healed as we are willing to join with our inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit.

As we step back from what our body’s eyes are showing us and open to a correction of our perception, the Holy Spirit shows us the innocence of Love that joins us as one. The Holy Spirit sees past illusions of separation to the truth that only the Love of our Creator is real. The Holy Spirit shows us that, in truth, we are joined in the one Mind of God. We are all the same Love in the one Mind of Love.

As we accept our oneness with our brother in God, we see our brothers as our friends. We no longer need to maintain defenses against an external being. We join with the Love in our brothers as we accept our oneness in God.
