Looking Past Appearances

Robert:
Yesterday we were encouraged to pay attention to when we were attempting to plan and solve problems on our own. This was a very helpful exercise. It brought to my attention that attempting to solve problems and make plans on my own is habitual. Without mindfulness, I would be caught up in this habit all day long. It requires a radical reversal of attention from the images of the world to willingness to receive Holy Spirit’s vision. It requires a willingness to look past appearances and let the Holy Spirit show me what is really there — Love and nothing else; certainty and peace, and nothing else.

I can be experiencing Love’s certainty and peace in every moment. It’s already in me, but the habit of attempting to plan and solve problems “out there” makes me unaware of the reality within. I want the peace of God. I want to know the Love I am. And so I will practice again bringing all my attempts to plan and solve problems on my own to the Holy Spirit. I want His vision and I am grateful that it is always given.

Mary:
Today is a day of opening to the truth. This is what this day is for. My job is to practice stepping back all through the day and open to a correction in my perceptions. As I do this, the Holy Spirit will show me a world beyond this world — a world of oneness and peace. I am grateful that this opportunity is given me today as I am willing to receive it.

Listening for Heaven

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today it is your opportunity to practice listening for Heaven. You do this by taking a deep breath and opening your mind to My message for you in the present moment…

This listening will undo what you think you know. So this listening takes a willingness for what you think you know to be undone. It takes being gentle and patient with yourself as you notice all the thoughts of defense against the truth show up in your mind.

Your job now is to watch your tension level and continuously hand over thoughts of trying to figure anything out on your own. This is what “let go and let God” means. In truth you rest in God all the time, but you fight letting this awareness in when you try to figure out what things mean on your own.

Practice taking a deep breath frequently today and as you exhale, see Holy Spirit being invited into your mind to bring you the truth to help you remember Heaven. This is what listening for Heaven means. Practice this as much as possible today and you will receive big dividends on your investment. Enjoy the benefits of this practice. It is the way out of hell for you.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
“Let go and let God” is another way of saying rest in God. You are now and eternally safe in God. That cannot change, for truth does not change. But you do not experience the rest that comes with your safety in God when you attempt to usurp your Source and make a world that excludes It. It is this made up world “outside” of God that needs to be let go.

One of the ways you attempt to hold on to your made up world is by attempting to solve “problems” on your own. This gives you an illusion of having a problem solving ability. But the problems are made up and so is the ability. It is just a self-perpetuating illusion that problems are real. Your attempt to solve them simply means you have decided the problems are real.

The Holy Spirit offers you a means for problem solving that works because it shines a light on the problem and shows that it is not there. Of yourself alone it is impossible to see this. That is why it is essential that you practice diligently and consistently offering every perceived problem to the Holy Spirit and open to His true solution. The practice of being mindful in each moment of your attempts to interpret and plan, and offering them to the Holy Spirit, is the way to remember Heaven. Have a heavenly day.

Quiet Listening

Robert:
Peace comes with accepting What Is. Since only Love is real, accepting What Is means accepting Love, and Love brings peace. Accepting What Is does not mean accepting an image or circumstance that is disturbing. If our peace is disturbed in any way, we are accepting what isn’t. We are believing in an image that is not real. It is this false image we must learn to deny.

This does not mean that we deny that we are perceiving an image that is disturbing us. But we must let go of the belief that interprets the image is disturbing. At its core, this belief is always the belief that we are separate. So the way we can deny what isn’t and accept What Is to bring all disturbances to the Light of the Holy Spirit. His Light will shine away the false image and false belief and replace it with the certainty and peace of Love. How this is done is not our concern. Our job is simply to offer every disturbance to the Holy Spirit. He will bring us the Light we need in the form that will help us receive It.

Today is a happy day of practice of bringing all my shadows to the Light of Holy Spirit.

Mary:
The Holy Spirit has infinite patience because He very clearly knows that our worldly experience is just a dream. He knows we are safe at Home in Heaven, where we belong. He knows we have really gone nowhere and done nothing to change where we are eternally.

Today I let Holy Spirit remind me of the truth all through the day. My job is to have an open mind and not decide what anything means on my own. Today is a day of quiet listening. Today is a day of letting my mind be healed. Today is a day of letting my mind be healed of false stories of separation. And I give thanks for another opportunity to let my mind be healed by the Holy Spirit.

From Restlessness to Peace

Robert:
The body’s eyes can only show us images. Images have no meaning of their own and they have no substance. With every image the body’s eyes present, we have a choice. We can interpret the image based on the past or we can let our true Self interpret it with Christ’s vision. Since the past is always a repeat of the thought of separation, it will interpret every image as a demonstration of separation in some way. But since Christ’s vision sees only oneness, it will look past the form of the image to see the Love or call for Love that are the only meaningful options. Both Love and the call for Love inspire one response — the extension of Love.

My prayer today: I open my mind and heart to Christ’s vision. I would see past all images and join in Love in each moment. I would see my brother as my Self reflected. Hold my hand today, dear brother, that I may remember we are one in Love and thus remember our one Self.

Mary:
This morning I noticed that I felt restless and I remember telling Robert about this restless feeling I had. I mentally laid this sense of restlessness on God’s altar. With this, I mentally said, “I choose once again, and this time I choose peace instead of what I chose before.”

An image that I thought of as myself, walked down a corridor of peace that appeared before me… As I continued to move forward in this corridor of peace, the restlessness that I felt before started falling off like barnacles off a ship… As I continued on, I realized that to go further, I needed to let go of the image that I saw as myself… It needed to fall away… I asked for help… And the peace corridor responded by moving into the space I left open…

My mind feels quiet now… The stillness and completeness is evident… I rest in the gentleness and fullness of peace… I feel gratitude for the gift of peace… I realize that it is not a small gift… I realize that peace is mine to choose eternally…

Today it is my opportunity to choose the gift of peace… I hand the dream story to peace… Peace is what I want… I accept peace today.

Love Is Now

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Remember that Love is always here right now, eternally. Remember that Love is your true Nature, eternally. Practice stepping back and letting your true Nature guide your thoughts today. Step back and let yourself be filled with your true Love Nature and let the Love you are extend to all the world.

Love is. God is. There is nothing else. This means that there is no future and no past. Let the truth of your beingness as Love shine through all illusions today.

Robert:
There is everything to do today yet nothing I need do. I do everything as I accept and extend the Love of my Source. I do not need to do anything to qualify myself to receive that Love because it was given me in my creation. Nor do I need to effort in any way to extend Love. The Love that I am is already shared with all. Love automatically extends because that is its nature. Today is a happy day because I have everything to do.

Have a Blessed Day

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Let thoughts of the world pass by… If you notice that you have taken hold of a thought, let it go… Let your mind quiet… Let yourself settle into peace… The world will be fine without your attention for awhile…

Let go and make room for quiet joy to enter… In this quiet joy you see the Light of Love that is your brother… and in his reflection you see your own… You feel a touch of Heaven… And with that touch your vision is transformed so that you see past the images of the world to the Love that is everywhere…

Bring this vision with you today in all your doing. And it will be a blessed and a blessing day.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let go and let God today… Enter the silence and listen to the Light of Truth… It knows how to lead you Home… It knows how to bring you the experience of true health and happiness that is eternal… Let yourself be carried by this inner Light of Truth today… Your willingness is all that is required.

Reflect the Peace of Heaven

Robert:
Any time my peace is disturbed, there can be only one cause: I must be believing that I have lost or become disconnected from God’s Love. I am believing in a self-identity that is not true. The correction for this mistaken thought is available in my mind always. The Holy Spirit is ever ready to offer me His vision of the world that shows me the Love and the calls for Love and answers both with Love.

I am willing to be taught this important lesson because I want to remember Who I am. I am willing to be taught because I want to remain in God’s peace. My focus today is to be mindful of my state of peace and to take any disturbance to the Holy Spirit for His loving correction. This practice can take me giant strides toward remembering that I remain as God created me.

Mary:
In our reading A Course in Miracles Text today, this was most helpful: “Reflect the peace of Heaven here, and bring this world to Heaven. For the reflection of truth draws everyone to truth, and as they enter into it they leave all reflections behind.” (T-14.X.1:6-7)

My job today is to reflect the peace of Heaven here. I do this by willingly receiving peace. When I truly receive peace, I naturally extend peace. With peace the ego falls away and truth is remembered.

The truth is we are all joined in the one Mind of Love. Either I am willing to recognize this truth or I am putting up barriers to its awareness. Today it is my opportunity to practice recognizing barriers to Love and willingly let them go so that the truth can enter. This is the practice that will bring me eternal happiness. And I give thanks.
