Accepting Holy Spirit’s Help

Robert:
I have lots of questions, most of which are about the future and what I should do to be prepared for it. Clearly these are ego based questions, yet it seems like it would really be helpful if I just had a hint. It’s like saying to the Holy Spirit, “Just throw me a scrap of information. I’ll take whatever you can give.” The problem is if Holy Spirit gave me that “scrap,” the ego would take that scrap and build an involved story around it to serve its purpose, which is always to reinforce the sense of separation. This is not what I really want. I really want the peace of God.

Now I bring this concern and insecurity about the future to the Holy Spirit. I lay it before Him and step back. What I laid before Him seemed like dark shadows, all tangled up like tangled fishing line. The Holy Spirit shines His Light on this tangled pile and it begins to fade. As it fades, I feel myself becoming more peaceful. There is no attempt to unravel the tangle because the tangle does not matter, being unreal. In the Light of truth, the tangle simply fades away.

I absorb the freedom and peace that flows through me now that the tangle is gone. I feel in my heart the certainty of the ever present Love that is my Self. I rest in that certainty… I know that there is nothing else I need. I know that even though the body’s eyes show me a world of forms and time, I can never be without Love. I can never be without everything I need.

The Holy Spirit walks with me in every moment and He reflects the eternal presence of Love to me in the form that will help me learn to recognize It in myself and everyone. This is all I really want. I am grateful that the Holy Spirit recognizes what will truly help me and offers it in every moment.

Today is another opportunity to practice laying all my questions, my concerns, my fears, my doubts, before the Light of truth. I am willing to let the Light of truth reveal what I truly want and need. Thus will I remember Love’s blessing.

Mary:
A Course in Miracles reminds me that there is only one problem and that is belief in a world of separate bodies. It also tells us that there is only one solution and that is forgiveness, which is letting go of that false belief in a world of separate bodies. So my only problem is believing in what my body’s eyes show me. My real job today is to let go, or forgive, trying to replace God’s oneness with images of separation.

The only way I can do this is to be humble and remember that everything I see in the world is false perception. It is only the Holy Spirit That can bring me true perception as I allow peace to return to my mind. True perception comes with it. It is the Holy Spirit That lifts the veil so that I can see that only Love is real.

When I think I have a problem. let me remember today that the only problem is holding on to belief in separation and the only solution is being willing to hand every perception over to the Holy Spirit to be undone. That is why it is so important that I remember that I know nothing on my own. That is why it is so important to let go of all I have valued before. The Holy Spirit’s values lead me out of this world and into the real world where only Love is real.

Am I willing to be truly humble today and remember that on my own I know nothing? This is my opportunity today to practice opening my mind to receive Holy Spirit’s peace. And with Holy Spirit’s peace comes true understanding of the difference between the real and the unreal. Love is. God is. There is nothing else. Here I find certainty. Here I find peace. Hallelujah!

Step Back, Let Go and Let God

Robert:
I want the peace of God. I want to awaken to my true Self. These are different ways of saying the same thing. I want to dis-identify with the ego and identify with my Self. To accomplish this I need do just this: Step back, let go and let God. I do not need to seek for God, to seek for Love. I only need to let Love be. I only need to let go of the barriers, the interference that makes it seem that Love and the peace of God are absent or incomplete.

Yesterday I was reminded of the statement in the Course that tells us that everything, all situations, circumstances and events are carefully planned for our salvation. In the present moment, I am either experiencing the peace of God, experiencing the joy of Love, or I am being shown a barrier that I have put up against that experience. If I’m being shown the barrier, I’m being blessed, for I have the opportunity in that moment to let the barrier go and let Love be. This gift is available to me in every moment. My only job is to accept the gift by stepping back, letting go and letting God. I will practice again today.

Mary:
Today I am encouraged to empty my mind of all I think I know. I am encouraged to open my mind to the Light within and let everything else fall away. I am encouraged to let my mind quiet. It is in this quiet place where I become open minded enough to let the presence of God’s Love enter. There is nothing that I have to do — only stop and allow God to be Itself. Love does the rest. My job today is to allow in the awareness of Love’s presence, which is there eternally. This is my assignment for today.

The Light of Truth

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Everything you need is given you. Relax and trust in God’s plan for your awakening. Today, practice letting go and letting God. Focus on letting the Light of truth into your mind. Let your mind quiet. Just be open and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. That is your practice today.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Practice, today, seeing beyond the forms of the world to the Light of Love. As often as possible, when you think of someone, remind yourself, “Beyond this thought is the Light of Love, and I am one with that Light.” When you look with the body’s eyes at a physical form, remind yourself, “Beyond this image is the Light of Love, and I am one with that Light.”

At least once a an hour, try to take this a step further by pausing and allowing yourself to feel the Love that joins you with the Light of Love beyond all forms. This practice can take you on great strides toward your full awakening. It will bring you to the full remembrance of the Love you want and are.

Mary: This practice Holy Spirit gave to Robert is what “solo la Luz” means. “Mira solo la Luz” means see only Light.

Safe in God’s Love

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Everyone is safe in God’s Love, because in truth everyone is God’s Love. No matter what stories show up in the dream, even if it involves the death of the body, in truth nothing has happened to change God’s one Son.

It is helpful to remember this as often as you can during the day. It will help realign your mind to the truth about yourself and everyone. Dreams can be frightening and many times this world feels unsafe and lacking in what you really want. Now is the time to return to the truth that all has all Love because all is all Love.

God is. Love is. In truth there is nothing else. In dreams of separate bodies the opposite seems real. Now is the time to return to the truth. Everyone is safe in God’s Love. No one can really leave God’s Love. Be grateful that this is so. Let the veil be lifted frequently today. This is your practice for today. Solo la Luz.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Let this be your prayer today: “Help me to see past all form today to the Love that is everywhere.” With this as your focus today, you will be singing Love’s song of joy to the Heart of the Sonship. It is the song of remembering What you are. It is the song that will lead you Home. Let your heart sing today and be joyous.

Step Back and Remember

Robert:
It is interesting to observe how tenaciously I hang on to the past and insist on using it as my guide for interpreting the present and planning for the future. I’ve read in the Course and have been told again and again that the past is gone and has been a lousy teacher. Yet still every day I observe how I try to make plans based on what I think I know from the past. But I am grateful that the Holy Spirit is patient.

My hands tightly grip the steering wheel as I try to be in control. But there is a spark of willingness that is allowing the Holy Spirit to gently pry my fingers loose from the wheel. As I loosen that grip, the box I have limited myself to begins to fade.

Once in a while I even slip out from behind the wheel and let Holy Spirit be in charge. Then I experience the joy, freedom and gratitude that come with miracles of changed perception. My heart overflows as the Love in me joins with the Love that is everywhere. At least for an instant the box has faded. The steering wheel has disappeared and I remember there is no place to go, nothing to plan for.

I only need to accept What I am as God created me. In that moment I experience the union with all my brothers that has never been lost. It inspires me to keep practicing stepping back to let Holy Spirit be in charge of all interpretation. Today is another day for practice. My heart is filled with gratitude.

Mary:
This morning as I go to Spirit, I am encouraged to remember throughout the day that I am only eternal Spirit. I am still as God created me. I am one with God in Heaven. I am also encouraged to practice remembering this about everyone I may think of or may encounter during the day.

“What do I think I and and where do I think I am?” are helpful questions to ask myself throughout the day. I am here only to be truly helpful and I am only truly helpful when I am willing to remember the truth about myself and everyone in this dream of separation. This is my practice today and I give thanks that I have another opportunity to choose once again with Holy Spirit. This is what today is for and I give thanks.

Let Go…

Robert:
I want the Love and peace of God. To have it is very simple, for It is already given me. I need only stop seeing value in the false images of the ego thought system. These images stand as a veil that seems to make it impossible to see the Love and peace that are present now. Yet the veil is there only because I see value in the images. But they are not real and in truth have no value.

Forgiveness is letting go of giving value to images. But because I think I am an image, a unique identity, I need help from beyond the realm of images to recognize them for what they are. That help is already present in my mind. The Course calls it the Holy Spirit, the one Self we all share. It is the part of my mind that remembers Reality. It is to this part of my mind that I must offer all my perceptions.

When I am willing to let this part of my mind that remembers be my interpreter, I can easily learn to look past the images and see the peace and Love that is my Home and that I am. I have a wonderful gift today: The opportunity to practice letting the truth in my mind be my interpreter. I am willing to practice today.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let go… Let go… Let go… Do not try to figure anything out. Just be still and let what is truly yours come to you of its own. Just focus on opening to your Source, your true Self… Just open more and more by relaxing and letting go of all you think you know…

Let the relaxation go deeper and deeper until there is nothing but the peace of God… Let yourself breathe in this peace… This is the peace of your Self. Let it fill your mind and give it rest… You can truly relax now, for all you need is here.

Let yourself remember that you are eternal Spirit… You are unified with the one Mind of God… You are God’s one Son, united with every brother… Let yourself remember this today.

Let Go, Let Go

Robert:
Today I am reminded that the way to inner peace is through letting go of investment in form and accepting the ever present Love that is God’s gift to all. No form in the world can ever satisfy the Son of God. As I practice letting go and opening to the Holy Spirit’s interpretation in every moment, I experience ever increasing levels of peace. With Love comes perfect peace. The seeming absence of peace is simply the effect of the denial of Love, which is the ego thought system. As I let it go, I clear the way for Love to fill my being. Today is another opportunity to let go and let Love.

Mary:
This morning as I go to Spirit, I am guided to relax and soften… I am guided to let go of thinking that I know anything. I am reminded that I am not a body; I am pure Spirit. Everything thing I see with the body’s eyes is showing me separation, which could never be real. I am guided to let go and follow in how to be truly helpful on my journey of awakening from the dream of separation. I am guided not to take the world too seriously and to laugh. We all have all that is real. My lesson today is to let the veil be lifted so I can become aware of Love’s presence, which is all there is.
