Offering the Gift of Peace

To give is to receive. Today we will attempt to offer peace to everyone, and see how quickly peace returns to us. Light is tranquility, and in that peace is vision given us, and we can see.

To everyone I offer quietness.
To everyone I offer peace of mind.
To everyone I offer gentleness.
(A Course in Miracles, W-pI.108.7:3-5;8:6-8)

Do we want God’s peace? Then we need to give God’s peace. But to give peace, we need to accept His gift. The belief in the dream of being separate and alone buffeted by images of conflict and loss, fear and guilt is the denial of God’s gift of peace. He has never stopped giving us this gift, but it is unknown to us because we have turned our back on it and focused on the ego’s world of separation. Gratefully we can change our focus.

Today we take time to go within and settle in to the quiet center of peace that is always there for us… It is our true Self… Here we find the peace that cannot be found in the world outside… Here we find the Light that shines through the images of conflict to the changeless Love that is everywhere… From this quiet place we draw from the limitless well of peace and extend it to all our brothers…

We offer it to our dearest friends… and we offer it to those unknown to us… We offer it to those who have passed by this world and those yet to come… And as we offer this gift, we experience its blessing and know this peace as ours… We offer the gift of peace today in gratitude and joy.
