Letting Go and Letting God Brings Peace

Strength is found in peace, not in conflict. Peace is an attribute of the Self that God created, the Self that joins me with All That Is. Conflict can only seem to occur if I believe I am something other than the one Self that God created. When things seem to be wrong in the world, such as a machine not working, the ego perceives that circumstance as in conflict with its image of what should be. This is just an out picturing of the ego’s idea that it is in conflict with God. Fixing the machine may seem to make the circumstance acceptable but the only meaningful correction is to forgive the seeming conflict with God.

When I am willing, the Holy Spirit shows me the mistaken thought that underlies the appearance of conflict. The Holy Spirit offers me the strength of God to support me in letting go of that mistaken idea. This is forgiveness. This is why the practice of offering all perceptions that interfere with peace to the Holy Spirit is so important. With that, willingness to accept Holy Spirit’s loving correction is what allows me to experience the forgiveness that sets me free to be my Self. This is how I let go and let God.

Resting In Holy Spirit

Every day can be a day of rest. Rest does not come from sleep. It comes from remembering that no matter what the body’s senses may show us, what appears to be happening in the world, we remain held firmly within the peace of God. God’s peace was given us in our creation. It is there to be accepted in every moment. It is in this acceptance that we find rest. As we let Holy Spirit be our interpreter in all things today, this will be a day of rest.

Be Willing to Be Taught Today

Let yourself rest in God… Rest in Love… Rest in peace… Rest in joy… This is your natural state, the condition in which you were created.

If you experience anything other than this condition, it is because you are denying your Self. When you recognize you are not in your natural state, it is an opportunity to turn to your inner Teacher with willingness to receive His gentle lessons. They will help you correct your mistaken beliefs that make you unaware of What you are. Nothing more is needed. Nothing else will work. Be willing to be taught today and you will return to perfect happiness.

Our Safety Lies in Our Defenselessness

Today our theme is our defenselessness. We clothe ourselves in it, as we prepare to meet the day. We rise up strong in Christ, and let our weakness disappear, as we remember that His strength abides in us. We will remind ourselves that He remains beside us through the day, and never leaves our weakness unsupported by His strength. We call upon His strength each time we feel the threat of our defenses undermine our certainty of purpose. We will pause a moment, as He tells us, “I am here.” (A Course in MIracles W-pI.153.19)

My practice for today is to be willing to let peace take charge of my mind. I choose the strength of peace instead of the weakness of thoughts that come from fear and conflict. I practice following where peace leads me. I accept my inner Teacher’s help in every circumstance. I realize that my safety lies in my defenselessness. My practice is in each now moment, and I give thanks for the help I receive.

Whenever I feel vulnerable or uncertain, I can call upon the strength of God in me. As I pause to accept this strength, I will feel Its Presence which tells me, “I am here.” What could be more assuring and comforting than to know that the strength of God is in me? As I call upon this strength, the seeming need to defend fades away as I remember that I remain in the safety of God’s Love.

The Way to True Happiness

Our prayer for today: Help us let go of what is not helpful. Help us recognize and accept what is truly helpful. This is the way to true happiness, which is Your Will for us. Thank You for Your gift of strength and peace.

Following Spirit’s Lead Past Time to Eternity

Only in time does interference in God’s completion seem to be possible. The bridge that He would carry you across lifts you from time into eternity. Waken from time, and answer fearlessly the Call of Him Who gave eternity to you in your creation. On this side of the bridge to timelessness you understand nothing. But as you step lightly across it, upheld by timelessness, you are directed straight to the Heart of God. At its center, and only there, you are safe forever, because you are complete forever. There is no veil the Love of God in us together cannot lift. The way to truth is open. Follow it with me. (A Course in Miracles T-16.IV.13:3-11)

The stories in the world can appear so real. It is important for me to consistently remember that I have an inner Teacher That can lead me out of the stories of time, differences and conflict to the truth of Love’s oneness. I am learning that attempting to solve problems as they come up at the level of form is not the answer.

If I am willing, my inner Teacher lifts me past the stories in time to the eternal now. When I am lifted past the veil of time, I see that nothing has really happened to change God’s one Son. Love is. God is. Nothing else is real. Here is where I find peace. And I give thanks.

From the perspective of peace in the oneness of Spirit, I am open to be inspired with how to reflect Love’s oneness in the dream of time. It is a solution based on the reality of Oneness reflected in the dream of separation in a way that leads to forgiveness of the dream. Holy Spirit’s solutions always lead us away from fear and guilt and help us let go of the false images that support the thought of separation.

My focus today is to remain in peace with an open mind to let Holy Spirit express truth through me in my thoughts, words and actions.

I Place the Future in God’s Hands

If you can see the lesson for today as the deliverance it really is, you will not hesitate to give as much consistent effort as you can, to make it be a part of you. As it becomes a thought that rules your mind, a habit in your problem-solving repertoire, a way of quick reaction to temptation, you extend your learning to the world. And as you learn to see salvation in all things, so will the world perceive that it is saved. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.194.6)

Disappointment and impatience are sure signs that I have attempted to take the future into my own hands. If I’m disappointed, I had an expectation, which is another word for plan. If I am impatient, I must have some idea that something other than what is should be happening — I have my own plan.

When I am willing to let go of my plans, which are always built upon the past, my mind is open to Holy Spirit’s lead. The Holy Spirit always sees the present moment as an opportunity to help me accept changeless Love as my one Reality. In the changeless Love of now, I am at peace, for change is impossible. This is the gift that is offered me when I am willing to place the future in God’s Hands.

Today I will be vigilant for signs that I am planning on my own and let them remind me to let them go and place the future in God’s Hands.

This important message reminds me to open to the eternal present in the Mind of God. Peace is now. Love is now. There is no future and no past. There is only the eternal present in God. And for this I give thanks.
