Our Promised Resurrection to Love

³Heaven asks nothing. ⁴It is hell that makes extravagant demands for sacrifice. ⁵You give up nothing in these times today when, undefended, you present yourself to your Creator as you really are.

He has remembered you. ²Today we will remember Him. ³For this is Eastertime in your salvation. ⁴And you rise again from what was seeming death and hopelessness. ⁵Now is the light of hope reborn in you, for now you come without defense, to learn the part for you within the plan of God. ⁶What little plans or magical beliefs can still have value, when you have received your function from the Voice for God Himself?

Try not to shape this day as you believe would benefit you most. ²For you can not conceive of all the happiness that comes to you without your planning. ³Learn today. ⁴And all the world will take this giant stride, and celebrate your Eastertime with you. ⁵Throughout the day, as foolish little things appear to raise defensiveness in you and tempt you to engage in weaving plans, remind yourself this is a special day for learning, and acknowledge it with this:

⁶This is my Eastertime. ⁷And I would keep it holy. ⁸I will not defend myself, because the Son of God needs no defense against the truth of his reality. (A Course in Miracles, W-135.24:3–26:8. See also ACIM Lesson 135 Insights.)

The choice to want specialness in place of the unity of Love triggered a dream of lovelessness in which death is believed to be real. This dream is fraught with conflict and loss. It seems to require constant defense to protect our perceived unique and separate identity. This is not our Home in truth.

Today we are reminded that we can leave this hellish dream behind. We can rise above this mistaken thought system to the oneness of our Creator’s Love. In this Love, we find perfect peace and joy unknown in the dream. Today we gratefully accept the Holy Spirit’s help to remember that we are God’s Son, united in His Love with all of Reality.

His vision shows us the Light of Love that shines brilliantly from our Father and every brother whom He created as His one Son. We are grateful that this promised resurrection is ours to claim.

Welcoming the Life We Live in God

There is one life, and that I share with God.

In this world, there appears to be a state that is life’s opposite. ²You call it death. ³Yet we have learned that the idea of death takes many forms. ⁴It is the one idea which underlies all feelings that are not supremely happy. ⁵It is the alarm to which you give response of any kind that is not perfect joy. ⁶All sorrow, loss, anxiety and suffering and pain, even a little sigh of weariness, a slight discomfort or the merest frown, acknowledge death. ⁷And thus deny you live.

Let us today be children of the truth, and not deny our holy heritage. ²Our life is not as we imagine it. ³Who changes life because he shuts his eyes, or makes himself what he is not because he sleeps, and sees in dreams an opposite to what he is? ⁴We will not ask for death in any form today. ⁵Nor will we let imagined opposites to life abide even an instant where the Thought of life eternal has been set by God Himself. The idea of death comes from the belief that we have separated from the Source of Life. God is our Source. He is the Source of our happiness, our peace and Love. Love is eternal, one, and never changes.

Because our real Life is in the peace of God, which can never be disturbed, anything that seems to disturb our peace, our joy or our Love could only seem real if we believe we are separate from our Source. The ‘life’ we experience in this world is a dream that is the opposite of Life.

We can wake up from our dream. But as long as we are invested in the wish for specialness, we resist waking up. We engage with the dream enthusiastically with the hope that somehow we will obtain the special status we treasure. This is why it is important that we realize the wish for specialness is a wish for death.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and actions. We welcome His help to let go of our mistaken wishes and welcome the Reality of God’s Love. We welcome the Life we live in God.

A Practice That Will Return Us to Love

No miracle can ever be denied to those who know that they are one with God. ²No thought of theirs but has the power to heal all forms of suffering in anyone, in times gone by and times as yet to come, as easily as in the ones who walk beside them now. ³Their thoughts are timeless, and apart from distance as apart from time.

We join in this awareness as we say that we are one with God. ²For in these words we say as well that we are saved and healed; that we can save and heal accordingly. ³We have accepted, and we now would give. ⁴For we would keep the gifts our Father gave. ⁵Today we would experience ourselves at one with Him, so that the world may share our recognition of reality. ⁶In our experience the world is freed. ⁷As we deny our separation from our Father, [the world] is healed along with us.

Peace be to you today. ²Secure your peace by practicing awareness you are one with your Creator, as He is with you. (W-124.6:1–8:2)

The ego tells us that believing we are one with God, our Creator, is arrogant. This is just its projection of the ego’s arrogance with its claim to have successfully separated from all of Creation.

Our reality is that we remain as God created us, eternally one with Him. We are part of the oneness of Love that encompasses all that is real. Today we practice reminding ourselves that we are one with our Creator. We share all His peace, joy and Love. This practice will lead us Home to our Reality as God’s Son.

Remembering We Live in Love’s Oneness

Let me not be Your critic, Lord, today, and judge against You. ²Let me not attempt to interfere with Your creation, and distort it into sickly forms. ³Let me be willing to withdraw my wishes from its unity, and thus to let it be as You created it. ⁴For thus will I be able, too, to recognize my Self as You created me. ⁵In love was I created, and in love will I remain forever. ⁶What can frighten me, when I let all things be exactly as they are?

Let not our sight be blasphemous today, nor let our ears attend to lying tongues. ²Only reality is free of pain. ³Only reality is free of loss. ⁴Only reality is wholly safe. ⁵And it is only this we seek today. (A Course in Miracles, W-268.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 268 Insights.)

As long as we identify with the ego, we will not feel safe. We will experience pain and loss. This is the environment the ego builds in order to provide the appearance of differences which support the wish for specialness. It is a high price to pay to satisfy the insane wish to have more than everything.

Today we will remind ourselves that we were created by Love to be only Love. We dwell in Love’s oneness. We ask the Holy Spirit to heal the thoughts which foster fear and guilt. We welcome the vision that shows us the reality of Love that unites us with All That is. God’s Love is our real Home.

Following Love’s Lead in the World

My heart is beating in the peace of God.

Surrounding me is all the life that God created in His Love. ²It calls to me in every heartbeat and in every breath; in every action and in every thought. ³Peace fills my heart, and floods my body with the purpose of forgiveness. ⁴Now my mind is healed, and all I need to save the world is given me. ⁵Each heartbeat brings me peace; each breath infuses me with strength. ⁶I am a messenger of God, directed by His Voice, sustained by Him in love, and held forever quiet and at peace within His loving Arms. ⁷Each heartbeat calls His Name, and every one is answered by His Voice, assuring me I am at home in Him.

Let me attend Your Answer, not my own. ²Father, my heart is beating in the peace the Heart of Love created. ³It is there and only there that I can be at home. (A Course in Miracles, W-267. See also ACIM Lesson 267 Insights.)

Do we want to be a purveyor of chaos or a messenger of God? We make that choice in every moment. As long as we identify with the ego, we reinforce the appearance of separation as real. Yet the world we perceive is nothing but hallucinations.

When we are willing to step back and welcome the Voice for God in our mind, we become messengers of His Love. Today we choose to listen to His Voice and let it guide us in all our thoughts and actions. Following His lead, we will be messengers of Love in the world.

Opening to the Holy Spirit’s Lead

You are my goal, my Father. Only You.

Where would I go but Heaven? ²What could be a substitute for happiness? ³What gift could I prefer before the peace of God? ⁴What treasure would I seek and find and keep that can compare with my Identity? ⁵And would I rather live with fear than love?

You are my goal, my Father. ²What but You could I desire to have? ³What way but that which leads to You could I desire to walk? ⁴And what except the memory of You could signify to me the end of dreams and futile substitutions for the truth? ⁵You are my only goal. ⁶Your Son would be as You created him. ⁷What way but this could I expect to recognize my Self, and be at one with my Identity? Our experience in this world is the result of our belief in a mistaken identity. This identity wanders alone in a wilderness of images that seem to threaten it or offer occasional moments of happiness. It searches for peace, but never finds a lasting quiet that cannot be disturbed.

God has given us a Guide Who knows our true Identity. His purpose is to help us awaken to the memory of our eternal connection with our Father. He leads us to our Home in the oneness of our Father’s Love. He reminds us of our true Self as God’s Son. Today we open our minds to Holy Spirit’s lead.

Overlooking the Past to See Love’s Presence

Let me forget my brother’s past today.

This is the thought that leads the way to You, and brings me to my goal. ²I cannot come to You without my brother. ³And to know my Source, I first must recognize what You created one with me. ⁴My brother’s is the hand that leads me on the way to You. ⁵His sins are in the past along with mine, and I am saved because the past is gone. ⁶Let me not cherish it within my heart, or I will lose the way to walk to You. ⁷My brother is my savior. ⁸Let me not attack the savior You have given me. ⁹But let me honor him who bears Your Name, and so remember that It is my own.

Forgive me, then, today. ²And you will know you have forgiven me if you behold your brother in the light of holiness. ³He cannot be less holy than can I, and you can not be holier than he. (A Course in Miracles, W-288. See also ACIM Lesson 288 Insights.)

All our judgments are based on thoughts about the past. In Love’s oneness there is no past. Only the eternal present exists. When we judge anyone, we are really judging our projections from our past on them. What we see in others is a reflection of what we believe we are.

Whether it appears to be the past of a brother or our own past, it is the same illusion based on the false belief that separation is real. Forgiveness frees us from our mistaken beliefs. It sets us free to see the unity of Love that joins us with everyone as God’s one Son, forever united with our Father. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see the reality of Love in all our brothers.
