⁴The real world, in its loveliness, you learn to reach. ⁵Fantasies are all undone, and no one and nothing remain still bound by them, and by your own forgiveness you are free to see. ⁶Yet what you see is only what you made, with the blessing of your forgiveness on it. ⁷And with this final blessing of God’s Son upon himself, the real perception, born of the new perspective he has learned, has served its purpose.
²Perception will be meaningless when it has been perfected, for everything that has been used for learning will have no function. ³Nothing will ever change; no shifts nor shadings, no differences, no variations that made perception possible will still occur.
The real world is attained simply by the complete forgiveness of the old, the world you see without forgiveness. ²The great Transformer of perception will undertake with you the careful searching of the mind that made this world, and uncover to you the seeming reasons for your making it. ³In the light of the real reason that He brings, as you follow Him, He will show you that there is no reason here at all. ⁴Each spot His reason touches grows alive with beauty, and what seemed ugly in the darkness of your lack of reason is suddenly released to loveliness. ⁵Not even what the Son of God made in insanity could be without a hidden spark of beauty that gentleness could release. (A Course in Miracles, T-17.II.3:4-7;4:2-3;5. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
When we identified with the ego, we accepted its lessons which taught us to believe that separation is real. The effect of this decision is the world we experience as a body. To free ourselves from this world of fear and guilt we need to choose a different Teacher. His lessons teach us how to forgive our mistaken beliefs to learn that only Love is real.
As we learn these lessons, our perception is purified. When forgiveness is complete, true perception shows us the Love beyond all the fantasy images we made in our allegiance to the ego. These images no longer have meaning to us for we know only the oneness of Love is real.
We need not be concerned about when we will reach true perception. We need only be vigilant to let the Holy Spirit teach us how to forgive our misperceptions. This practice will return us to the realization of the Love we are in the Heart of God.

I can be free of suffering today.
Father, I thank You for today, and for the freedom I am certain it will bring. ²This day is holy, for today Your Son will be redeemed. ³His suffering is done. ⁴For he will hear Your Voice directing him to find Christ’s vision through forgiveness, and be free forever from all suffering. ⁵Thanks for today, my Father. ⁶I was born into this world but to achieve this day, and what it holds in joy and freedom for Your holy Son and for the world he made, which is released along with him today.
Be glad today! ²Be glad! ³There is no room for anything but joy and thanks today. ⁴Our Father has redeemed His Son this day. ⁵Not one of us but will be saved today. ⁶Not one who will remain in fear, and none the Father will not gather to Himself, awake in Heaven in the Heart of Love. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 340, W-340. See also ACIM Lesson 340 Insights.)
If we are not supremely happy, we are suffering from a belief in a false image of what we are. Joy is an attribute of Love, and our true Self is Love and nothing else. Every moment of every day that is not happy is an opportunity to forgive. We have a choice. We can choose to welcome the lesson in forgiveness the Holy Spirit will bring to us or we can continue with our old habit of believing the world of separation is real.
We do not have to accept less than perfect happiness. Today we choose to accept the opportunities offered us to forgive our mistaken beliefs and welcome the Love that is God’s eternal gift to us. It is a choice to be glad.

It is impossible not to believe what you see, but it is equally impossible to see what you do not believe. ²Perceptions are built up on the basis of experience, and experience leads to beliefs. ³It is not until beliefs are fixed that perceptions stabilize. ⁴In effect, then, what you believe you do see. ⁵That is what I meant when I said, “Blessed are ye who have not seen and still believe,” for those who believe in the resurrection will see it. ⁶The resurrection is the complete triumph of Christ over the ego, not by attack but by transcendence. ⁷For Christ does rise above the ego and all its works, and ascends to the Father and His Kingdom.
⁹Let the Christ in you interpret for you, and do not try to limit what you see by narrow little beliefs that are unworthy of God’s Son. ¹⁰For until Christ comes into His Own, the Son of God will see himself as Fatherless.
I am your resurrection and your life. ²You live in me because you live in God. ³And everyone lives in you, as you live in everyone. ⁴Can you, then, perceive unworthiness in a brother and not perceive it in yourself? ⁵And can you perceive it in yourself and not perceive it in God? ⁶Believe in the resurrection because it has been accomplished, and it has been accomplished in you. ⁷This is as true now as it will ever be, for the resurrection is the Will of God, which knows no time and no exceptions. ⁸But make no exceptions yourself, or you will not perceive what has been accomplished for you. (A Course in Miracles, T-11.VI.1;3:9–4:8. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
Today I had an experience which demonstrated that we see what we believe. I was looking for a box to pack a piece of office equipment in preparation to move our office. I believed the box was white with black type on it. I went to the storeroom where I believed the box was. I looked throughout the room and did not see the box, yet I remembered seeing it there recently. I walked away wondering how I could have missed it. I paused and was inspired to go back and look again. There was the box in plain sight. But the box was a brown with black type, not white as I believed it was.
This is an example of what Jesus is asking us to do. We need to let the Christ in our mind help us look beyond our beliefs to the truth of our unity with our Creator and all His Creations. We need to give the Christ priority as the Interpreter of what we perceive. This is the key to undoing our mistaken beliefs to reveal the eternal truth of our oneness in the Universe of Love.

What Comforter can there be for the sick [separated] children of God except His power through you? ²Remember that it does not matter where in the Sonship [the Comforter] is accepted. ³He is always accepted for all, and when your mind receives Him the remembrance of Him awakens throughout the Sonship. ⁴Heal your brothers simply by accepting God for them. ⁵Your minds are not separate, and God has only one channel for healing because He has but one Son. ⁶God’s remaining Communication Link with all His children joins them together, and them to Him. ⁷To be aware of this is to heal them because it is the awareness that no one is separate, and so no one is sick.
To believe that a Son of God can be sick is to believe that part of God can suffer. ²Love cannot suffer, because it cannot attack. ³The remembrance of love therefore brings invulnerability with it. ⁴Do not side with sickness in the presence of a Son of God even if he believes in it, for your acceptance of God in him acknowledges the Love of God he has forgotten. ⁵Your recognition of him as part of God reminds him of the truth about himself, which he is denying. ⁶Would you strengthen his denial of God and thus lose sight of yourself? ⁷Or would you remind him of his wholeness and remember your Creator with him? (A Course in Miracles, T-10.III.2–3. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
Our only meaningful purpose in the world is to bring healing to our brothers. To do this, we must accept the help of God’s Comforter, the Holy Spirit. God placed the Holy Spirit in our mind to teach us that we remain whole and complete as God’s one Son. Accepting this fact heals our mind. With this healed mind, we can comfort our brothers, for we will see the truth in them. We will not be deceived by the mistaken self-image our brother thinks he is.
To bring healing to the world, we need to be willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s help. His Love will comfort our minds, bringing us peace and happiness. Today we choose the Holy Spirit’s comfort by accepting His help to forgive the false idols we have made about ourselves and our brothers in the world. He will teach us to see the Love shine away the hate, let peace replace fear and let joy replace guilt.

Can what has no beginning really end? ²The world will end in an illusion, as it began. ³Yet will its ending be an illusion of mercy. ⁴The illusion of forgiveness, complete, excluding no one, limitless in gentleness, will cover it, hiding all evil, concealing all sin and ending guilt forever. ⁵So ends the world that guilt had made, for now it has no purpose and is gone. ⁶The father of illusions is the belief that they have a purpose; that they serve a need or gratify a want. ⁷Perceived as purposeless, [illusions] are no longer seen. ⁸Their uselessness is recognized, and they are gone. ⁹How but in this way are all illusions ended? ¹⁰They have been brought to truth, and truth saw them not. ¹¹It merely overlooked the meaningless.
Until forgiveness is complete, the world does have a purpose. ²It becomes the home in which forgiveness is born, and where it grows and becomes stronger and more all-embracing. ³Here is [forgiveness] nourished, for here it is needed. ⁴A gentle Savior, born where sin was made and guilt seemed real. ⁵Here is His home, for here there is need of Him indeed. ⁶He brings the ending of the world with Him. ⁷It is His Call God’s teachers answer, turning to Him in silence to receive His Word. ⁸The world will end when all things in it have been rightly judged by His judgment. ⁹The world will end with the benediction of holiness upon it. ¹⁰When not one thought of sin remains, the world is over. ¹¹It will not be destroyed nor attacked nor even touched. ¹²It will merely cease to seem to be.
⁹To turn hell into Heaven is the function of God’s teachers, for what they teach are lessons in which Heaven is reflected. ¹⁰And now sit down in true humility, and realize that all God would have you do you can do. ¹¹Do not be arrogant and say you cannot learn His Own curriculum. ¹²His Word says otherwise. ¹³His Will be done. ¹⁴It cannot be otherwise. ¹⁵And be you thankful it is so. (A Course in Miracles, M-14.1:1–2:12;5:9-15)
There is only one meaningful purpose for our seeming existence in the world. It is a purpose God assigned to the Holy Spirit and to His Son. We are to forgive every illusion. Only illusions obscure the reality of Heaven as our Home. Illusions make it seem that we are not in Heaven. They support the belief that separation from God is real.
God calls to us through the Holy Spirit to forgive the illusions that seem to separate His Son, our true Self, from His Love. His Love for His Son remains untouched. It is all that is true. Forgiveness peels away the false beliefs that make us feel unloved, abandoned, powerless and limited. They are unreal and therefore untrue.
Today let’s focus on accepting the Holy Spirit’s help to forgive the ego-made illusions and let the Love we are be revealed. Together we teach the world and ourselves that only Love is real.

²A holy relationship is a means of saving time. ³One instant spent together with your brother restores the universe to both of you.
³Time has been saved for you because you and your brother are together. ⁴This is the special means this course is using to save you time.
To do anything involves the body. ²And if you recognize you need do nothing, you have withdrawn the body’s value from your mind. ³Here is the quick and open door through which you slip past centuries of effort, and escape from time. ⁴This is the way in which sin loses all attraction right now. ⁵For here is time denied, and past and future gone. ⁶Who needs do nothing has no need for time. ⁷To do nothing is to rest, and make a place within you where the activity of the body ceases to demand attention. ⁸Into this place the Holy Spirit comes, and there abides. ⁹He will remain when you forget, and the body’s activities return to occupy your conscious mind.
Yet there will always be this place of rest to which you can return. ²And you will be more aware of this quiet center of the storm than all its raging activity. ³This quiet center, in which you do nothing, will remain with you, giving you rest in the midst of every busy doing on which you are sent. ⁴For from this center will you be directed how to use the body sinlessly. ⁵It is this center, from which the body is absent, that will keep [the body sinless] in your awareness of it. (A Course in Miracles, T-18.VII.5:2-3;6:3-4;7:1–8:5. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
The most repeated statement in the Workbook is, “I am not a body.” It is repeated so often because it counters the investment we have made in the body as our identity. The change this recognition induces opens us to become consciously aware of our true Self, which dwells eternally in the Mind of Love. As we detach our identification with the body, we let go of the limitations it imposes. The body is the chief illusion the ego uses to make separation seem real.
Bodies were made to be unable to be aware of Love’s oneness. The body’s senses can only sense separation. Our true Self remains unlimited by time, space and the body. Without our identification with the body, we are free to experience our eternal union with every brother and with God in the universe of Love.
There is nothing we need do to be what God created us to be. But while we maintain identification with the body, we do need to practice letting go of its limitations. The holy relationship, which we can experience in the holy instant when the body’s limitations have been set aside restores our awareness of our true Identity.
We set aside limitations through forgiveness. What we perceive in other bodies, what they seem to mean, is a reflection of what we believe about ourselves. Each time we let the Holy Spirit show us that beyond this appearance is Love and nothing else, we loosen our identification with the body.
We dedicate today to frequently pausing to go to the quiet place of rest within and let the Holy Spirit reveal Love’s presence everywhere, in everyone.

³You cannot judge. ⁴You merely can believe the ego’s judgments, all of which are false. ⁵It guides your senses carefully, to prove how weak you are; how helpless and afraid…
Yet you must learn to doubt their evidence will clear the way to recognize yourself, and let the Voice for God alone be Judge of what is worthy of your own belief.
He will select the elements in them which represent the truth, and disregard those aspects which reflect but idle dreams. ²And He will reinterpret all you see, and all occurrences, each circumstance, and every happening that seems to touch on you in any way from His one frame of reference, wholly unified and sure. ³And you will see the love beyond the hate, the constancy in change, the pure in sin, and only Heaven’s blessing on the world.
²As we give thanks, the world unites with us and happily accepts our holy thoughts, which Heaven has corrected and made pure. ³Now has our ministry begun at last, to carry round the world the joyous news that truth has no illusions, and the peace of God, through us, belongs to everyone. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 151, W-1.4:3-5;7:1;11;17:2-3. See also ACIM Lesson 151 Insights.)
As long as we believe that we are a separate identity, different from everyone and everything, we believe we need to protect this identity. Loss and harm seem real. Pain seems to be part of our lives. Yet this need not be our experience.
There is a better way to perceive the world. We can learn it from the Teacher provided by our Creator. The Holy Spirit sees every moment as a learning opportunity in which His lessons teach us to look beyond appearances. Under His guidance we learn to see the Love that binds us eternally to our Creator and every brother as God’s one Son.
The practice of choosing the Holy Spirit to judge all things on our behalf awakens us to the Love we are and in which we dwell. In truth we are safe, wholly loving and loved without limit. Love is our Home and our very Being. Love is our Reality.
