We Have the Power to Bless the World

Projection makes perception. ²The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. ³But though it is no more than that, it is not less. ⁴Therefore, to you it is important. ⁵It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. ⁶As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. ⁷Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. ⁸Perception is a result and not a cause. ⁹And that is why order of difficulty in miracles is meaningless. ¹⁰Everything looked upon with vision is healed and holy. ¹¹Nothing perceived without it means anything. ¹²And where there is no meaning, there is chaos.

Damnation is your judgment on yourself, and this you will project upon the world. ²See it as damned, and all you see is what you did to hurt the Son of God. ³If you behold disaster and catastrophe, you tried to crucify him. ⁴If you see holiness and hope, you joined the Will of God to set him free. ⁵There is no choice that lies between these two decisions. ⁶And you will see the witness to the choice you made, and learn from this to recognize which one you chose. ⁷The world you see but shows you how much joy you have allowed yourself to see in you, and to accept as yours. ⁸And, if this is its meaning, then the power to give [the world] joy must lie within you. Our world seems to be a chaotic place of conflict, attack. Fear and guilt, attack and defense seem justified. But we see this only because we chose to value specialness over our unity with the Love of our Creator. We see only a reflection of what we believe we are.

In every moment we have the opportunity to join with the Will of God to see the reality of Love all around us. We ask the Holy Spirit help us see with His vision. As we accept His help, we will see a loving world, filled with joy and hope. With this vision we bless the world.

Using the Body to Bring Love to the World

When your body and your ego and your dreams are gone, you will know that you will last forever. ²Perhaps you think this is accomplished through death, but nothing is accomplished through death, because death is nothing. ³Everything is accomplished through life, and life is of the mind and in the mind. ⁴The body neither lives nor dies, because it cannot contain you who are life. ⁵If we share the same mind, you can overcome death because I did. ⁶Death is an attempt to resolve conflict by not deciding at all. ⁷Like any other impossible solution the ego attempts, it will not work.

God did not make the body, because it is destructible, and therefore not of the Kingdom. ²The body is the symbol of what you think you are. ³It is clearly a separation device, and therefore does not exist. ⁴The Holy Spirit, as always, takes what you have made and translates it into a learning device. ⁵Again as always, He reinterprets what the ego uses as an argument for separation into a demonstration against it. ⁶If the mind can heal the body, but the body cannot heal the mind, then the mind must be stronger than the body. ⁷Every miracle demonstrates this.

⁵The Holy Spirit sees the body only as a means of communication, and because communicating is sharing it becomes communion.… ¹⁰The Holy Spirit communicates only what each one can give to all. (A Course in Miracles, T-6.V-A.1:1–2:7;5:5,10. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

The body is a dream of limitation. Our true Self is mind which has no limits. It remains eternally united with the Mind of God.

To the ego, the body is a separation device. To the Holy Spirit, it is a communication device. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us use the body to bring messages of Love to the world through our thoughts, words and actions.

Forgiving Images of Differences

Like any good teacher, the Holy Spirit knows more than you do now, but He teaches only to make you equal with Him. ²You had already taught yourself wrongly, having believed what was not true. ³You did not believe in your own perfection. ⁴Would God teach you that you had made a split mind, when He knows your mind only as whole? ⁵What God does know is that His communication channels are not open to Him, so that He cannot impart His joy and know that His children are wholly joyous. ⁶Giving His joy is an ongoing process, not in time but in eternity. ⁷God’s extending outward, though not His completeness, is blocked when the Sonship does not communicate with Him as one. ⁸So He thought, “My children sleep and must be awakened.

How can you wake children in a more kindly way than by a gentle Voice that will not frighten them, but will merely remind them that the night is over and the light has come? ²You do not inform them that the nightmares that frightened them so badly are not real, because children believe in magic. ³You merely reassure them that they are safe now. ⁴Then you train them to recognize the difference between sleeping and waking, so they will understand they need not be afraid of dreams. ⁵And so when bad dreams come, they will themselves call on the light to dispel them.

⁴The Holy Spirit makes no distinction among dreams. ⁵He merely shines them away. ⁶His light is always the Call to awaken, whatever you have been dreaming. ⁷Nothing lasting lies in dreams, and the Holy Spirit, shining with the light from God Himself, speaks only for what lasts forever. We have a loving Father who wants us to awaken to the peace and joy He created as our Home. In our dreams, we believe we live in a world of conflict, fear and guilt. He has given us the Holy Spirit who gently calls to us to awaken from our nightmare of choosing separation and specialness.

Let us join today in a dedication to listen for His call. It is a call to joy. As we open our mind to receive His vision, we will awaken to the real world, where images of differences are forgiven in the Light of His Love.

Welcoming the Joyous Present

³The holy instant is the opposite of the ego’s fixed belief in salvation through vengeance for the past. ⁴In the holy instant it is understood that the past is gone, and with its passing the drive for vengeance has been uprooted and has disappeared. ⁵The stillness and the peace of now enfold you in perfect gentleness. ⁶Everything is gone except the truth.

What God has given you is truly given, and will be truly received. ²For God’s gifts have no reality apart from your receiving them. ³Your receiving completes His giving. ⁴You will receive because it is His Will to give. ⁵He gave the holy instant to be given you, and it is impossible that you receive it not because He gave it. ⁶When He willed that His Son be free, His Son was free. ⁷In the holy instant is His reminder that His Son will always be exactly as he was created. ⁸And everything the Holy Spirit teaches is to remind you that you have received what God has given you.

There is nothing you can hold against reality. ²All that must be forgiven are the illusions you have held against your brothers. ³Their reality has no past, and only illusions can be forgiven. ⁴God holds nothing against anyone, for He is incapable of illusions of any kind. ⁵Release your brothers from the slavery of their illusions by forgiving them for the illusions you perceive in them. Every time our peace is disturbed, it is because we are holding some thought about a past experience. Only when we believe separation is real do we believe that there is a time that is past and a time that is future which is different from the present. In the reality of God’s Love, there is no time, no past, no future. This is the lesson the holy instant offers.

As we open our mind to the Holy Spirit’s Voice, He will help us see the joyous present moment in which the wholeness of God’s Love is undisturbed. In Love’s changelessness, we are perfectly safe. There is no cause for fear nor guilt. Love is all that is real.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit vision which shows us the joyous present of our Father’s Love.

Choosing Our Guide to Forgiveness

³Spirit is the Thought of God which He created like Himself. ⁴The unified spirit is God’s one Son, or Christ.

In this world, because the mind is split, the Sons of God appear to be separate. ²Nor do their minds seem to be joined. ³In this illusory state, the concept of an “individual mind” seems to be meaningful. ⁴It is therefore described in the course as if it has two parts; spirit and ego.

Spirit is the part that is still in contact with God through the Holy Spirit, Who abides in this part but sees the other part as well.

The other part of the mind is entirely illusory and makes only illusions.

The mind can be right or wrong, depending on the voice to which it listens. ²Right-mindedness listens to the Holy Spirit, forgives the world, and through Christ’s vision sees the real world in its place.

Wrong-mindedness listens to the ego and makes illusions; perceiving sin and justifying anger, and seeing guilt, disease and death as real. ²Both this world and the real world are illusions because right-mindedness merely overlooks, or forgives, what never happened. In truth, our reality is the one Mind of God. As His Son, we are His Thought, Which has never left His mind.

While we identify with the ego idea of separate identities, it is impossible to understand the our Reality in God’s One Mind. But we can learn to forgive the world by overlooking the forms of the world we see, realizing they never happened.

The Holy Spirit is our Teacher to help us learn this important lesson. It frees us from fear, anger and guilt. The more we forgive, the more clear our perception of the forgiven real world becomes. It is in our best interest to choose the Holy Spirit as our Guide to forgiveness in every moment.

Finding Our Self Created by Love

In me, God’s holy Son, are reconciled all parts of Heaven’s plan to save the world. ²What could conflict, when all the parts have but one purpose and one aim? ³How could there be a single part that stands alone, or one of more or less importance than the rest? ⁴I am the means by which God’s Son is saved, because salvation’s purpose is to find the sinlessness that God has placed in me. ⁵I was created as the thing I seek. ⁶I am the goal the world is searching for. ⁷I am God’s Son, His one eternal Love. ⁸I am salvation’s means and end as well.

Let me today, my Father, take the role You offer me in Your request that I accept Atonement for myself. ²For thus does what is thereby reconciled in me become as surely reconciled to You. (A Course in Miracles, W-318.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 318 Insights.)

Everyone in this world is searching for love in some way. If we choose the ego as our guide, we will seek love in some form outside ourselves. But this is a futile search, guaranteed to fail. Love is not outside of us.

We were created by Love as Love. All we need to do is accept our Identity as Love’s Creation. In that acceptance we recognize the Love that unifies with all of Creation, Which includes every brother who is united with us as God’s Son.

Today we accept the Holy Spirit’s help to look within to find the Self that is God’s holy Son.

Learning to Choose the Reality of Love

There is no end to all the peace and joy, and all the miracles that I will give, when I accept God’s Word. Why not today?

“Why should I wait, my Father, for the joy You promised me? ²For You will keep Your Word You gave Your Son in exile. ³I am sure my treasure waits for me, and I need but reach out my hand to find it. ⁴Even now my fingers touch it. ⁵It is very close. ⁶I need not wait an instant more to be at peace forever. ⁷It is You I choose, and my Identity along with You. ⁸Your Son would be Himself, and know You as his Father and Creator, and his Love.” (A Course in Miracles, W-355. It only takes an instant to make a decision. That is all it takes for us to choose God in place of the ego as our identity. It only seems hard to make this decision because part of our mind still values the idea of specialness.

We have the means within our mind to help us learn that specialness has no value whatsoever. Only in illusions do specialness and differences seem real. We see illusions because we want to see them. The Course is helping us to see that these illusions offer nothing that we truly want.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us sort the valuable from the valueless. As we learn to recognize the presence of Love everywhere, we will learn to recognize all that is truly valuable. Only Love is real. We want to learn to decide for Reality and accept our Identity as God’s Son.
