Remembering We Are in Heaven Now

You whose mind is darkened by doubt and guilt, remember this: God gave the Holy Spirit to you, and gave Him the mission to remove all doubt and every trace of guilt that His dear Son has laid upon himself. It is impossible that this mission fail.

The Communication Link [Holy Spirit] that God Himself placed within you, joining your mind with His, cannot be broken. You may believe you want It broken, and this belief does interfere with the deep peace in which the sweet and constant communication God would share with you is known. Yet His channels of reaching out cannot be wholly closed and separated from Him. Peace will be yours because His peace still flows to you from Him Whose Will is peace. You have it now. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to use it, and by extending it, to learn that it is in you. God willed you Heaven, and will always will you nothing else. The Holy Spirit knows only of His Will. There is no chance that Heaven will not be yours, for God is sure, and what He wills is as sure as He is.

You do not have to know that Heaven is yours to make it so. It is so. Yet to know it, the Will of God must be accepted as your will. (A Course in Miracles, T-13.XI.5:1-2;8;10:5-7. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

No matter how engrossed we become in the dream of separation, we cannot break our connection with God, our Creator. That Link ensures that God’s gift of all of Himself — His Love, His joy and His peace — remains ours eternally. Because of this unbreakable link, our will is united with God, one and the same.

The ego is afraid of God’s Will because the ego is the belief that it is possible to oppose God’s Will. The ego believes, correctly, that accepting God’s Will as ours could be its end. Accepting God’s Will is accepting the peace of Heaven as our Home. This is the lesson the Holy Spirit was sent to teach us. This lesson reminds us that we have not changed What God created by choosing to deny It. We have merely made God’s Will unknown to us.

By choosing to welcome the Holy Spirit’s reinterpretation of our perceptions in the world, we learn to recognize the ego’s illusions as unreal. We then easily let illusions go and accept God’s Will and His Gifts as ours. We free ourselves from the ego’s false beliefs. We remember we are in Heaven now.

Faith Brings Healing to the World

Faith is the opposite of fear, as much a part of love as fear is of attack. Faith is the acknowledgment of union. [Faith] is the gracious acknowledgment of everyone as a Son of your most loving Father, loved by Him like you, and therefore loved by you as yourself. It is His Love that joins you and your brother, and for His Love you would keep no one separate from yours. Each one appears just as he is perceived in the holy instant, united in your purpose to be released from guilt. You see the Christ in him, and he is healed because you look on what makes faith forever justified in everyone.

Faith is the gift of God, through Him [Holy Spirit] Whom God has given you. Faithlessness looks upon the Son of God, and judges him unworthy of forgiveness. But through the eyes of faith, the Son of God is seen already forgiven, free of all the guilt he laid upon himself. Faith sees him only now because it looks not to the past to judge him, but would see in him only what it would see in you. [Faith] sees not through the body’s eyes, nor looks to bodies for its justification. [Faith] is the messenger of the new perception, sent forth to gather witnesses unto its coming, and to return their messages to you.

For faith arises from the Holy Spirit’s perception, and is the sign you share [His perception] with Him. (A Course in Miracles, T-19.I.10-11;12:2. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Faith is dedication to Truth. To have faith in our brother is to see past the body to the truth in him that he is only Love, united with the Love that is our true Self. To bring faith to the world and ourselves, we need to be dedicated wholly to truth. We need to have faith in the truth that only Love is real.

The body’s eyes cannot see Love, for Love has no form. The justification for faith comes through using Holy Spirit’s vision in our mind. His vision overlooks the body and what it seems to do to see the truth that is the one Son of God. To bring healing to the world, we need to choose the Holy Spirit’s perception in place of what we perceive with the body’s eyes. This is the choice we make in every moment. As we accept Holy Spirit’s vision, we learn that we are innocent and united with our brother in God’s Love.

We CAN Learn Salvation

How simple is salvation! All it says is what was never true is not true now, and never will be. The impossible has not occurred, and can have no effects. And that is all. Can this be hard to learn by anyone who wants it to be true? Only unwillingness to learn [salvation] could make such an easy lesson difficult.

Say not you cannot learn [the lessons you have taught yourself]. For your power to learn is strong enough to teach you that your will is not your own, your thoughts do not belong to you, and even you are someone else.

The world began with one strange lesson, powerful enough to render God forgotten, and His Son an alien to himself, in exile from the home where God Himself established him. You who have taught yourself the Son of God is guilty, say not that you cannot learn the simple things salvation teaches you!

Yet you will learn [the lessons of the Voice for truth], for their learning is the only purpose for your learning skill the Holy Spirit sees in all the world. His simple lessons in forgiveness have a power mightier than yours, because they call from God and from your Self to you.

However much you may have overlearned your chosen task, the lesson that reflects the Love of God is stronger still. And you will learn God’s Son is innocent, and see another world.

The outcome of the lesson that God’s Son is guiltless is a world in which there is no fear, and everything is lit with hope and sparkles with a gentle friendliness. (A Course in Miracles, T-31.I.1:1-6;3:5-6;4:5-6;5:5-6;7:10-8:1. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

The world we see is a powerful demonstration of the power of our learning skill. But we are using it for the ego’s purpose to make the illusion of separation seem real. Admittedly, what we see is pretty convincing. This means that our learning skill can also be used by the Holy Spirit to teach us to recognize illusions for what they are. When illusions are recognized, we automatically let them go and they disappear.

We can learn that we are Love and nothing else. We can learn that we are still as God created us, united with Him as His one Son. We can forgive, let go of, illusions of guilt and fear. We can learn salvation.

Accepting the Love We Are

When I said that the ego does not know anything, I said the one thing about the ego that is wholly true. But there is a corollary; if only knowledge has being and the ego has no knowledge, then the ego has no being.

No one can doubt the ego’s skill in building up false cases. Nor can anyone doubt your willingness to listen until you choose not to accept anything except truth. When you lay the ego aside, it will be gone. The Holy Spirit’s Voice is as loud as your willingness to listen. It cannot be louder without violating your freedom of choice, which the Holy Spirit seeks to restore, never to undermine.

The Holy Spirit teaches you to use your body only to reach your brothers, so He can teach His message through you. This will heal them and therefore heal you. Everything used in accordance with its function as the Holy Spirit sees it cannot be sick. …Health is the result of relinquishing all attempts to use the body lovelessly. The Course defines knowledge as awareness of Truth. Since the ego is the denial of Truth, it cannot know truth. To become aware of our true Identity, we must let the Voice for Truth guide all our perception. When we set the ego aside and let the Holy Spirit guide all our doing, we become His messengers. We teach Love by seeing only Love as real. This is how we learn we are Love.

When we perceive something that disturbs our peace and let the Holy Spirit transform that perception, we bring the oneness of Love to the situation. This forgiveness releases our self-imposed limits on Love. It allows perceived lack of love to be healed with Love.

How to Escape from Fear to Love

[“Let me not forget my function”] is merely another way of saying “Let me not wander into temptation.” The purpose of the world you see is to obscure your function of forgiveness, and provide you with a justification for forgetting it. [The world] is the temptation to abandon God and His Son by taking on a physical appearance. It is this the body’s eyes look upon.

Nothing the body’s eyes seem to see can be anything but a form of temptation, since this was the purpose of the body itself. Yet we have learned that the Holy Spirit has another use for all the illusions you have made, and therefore He sees another purpose in them. To the Holy Spirit, the world is a place where you learn to forgive yourself what you think of as your sins.

The world’s salvation awaits your forgiveness [seeing innocence], because through it does the Son of God escape from all illusions, and thus from all temptation. The Son of God is you. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 64, W-pI.64.1-2:3;3:3-4. See also ACIM Lesson 64 Insights.)

It could be said that the body’s eyes give us fake news. The body is an illusion and is capable only of “seeing” illusions, fake images of separation. If we believe the body is our real identity, we will believe the illusions it seems to see are real. The temptation to believe the body is our identity is the temptation to abandon God and His Son, our true Self.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can learn to use all our perceptions in the world as opportunities to see past the false images to the truth of changeless Love. The Holy Spirit sees the illusions we see, but does not believe them. By accepting His vision, we learn to recognize the ego’s illusions as unreal and overlook them. With the Holy Spirit’s vision, we see only Love’s innocence everywhere. The appearance of a brother’s error is recognized as a call for Love and answered with Love. This is how we awaken to our shared one Self, the Son of God.

How to Bless the World with Love

The miracle comes quietly into the mind that stops an instant and is still. It reaches gently from that quiet time, and from the mind it healed in quiet then, to other minds to share its quietness. And they will join in doing nothing to prevent its radiant extension back into the Mind which caused all minds to be. Born out of sharing, there can be no pause in time to cause the miracle delay in hastening to all unquiet minds, and bringing them an instant’s stillness, when the memory of God returns to them. Their own remembering is quiet now, and what has come to take its place will not be wholly unremembered afterwards.

He to Whom time is given offers thanks for every quiet instant given Him. For in that instant is God’s memory allowed to offer all its treasures to the Son of God, for whom they have been kept. …The instant’s silence that His Son accepts gives welcome to eternity and Him, and lets Them enter where They would abide. For in that instant does the Son of God do nothing that would make himself afraid.

In every moment we have an opportunity to bring peace and blessing to the world. Each time we remember to step back from our worldly thoughts to welcome Holy Spirit’s inspiration, we bring Love and peace to the world. The Holy Spirit’s mission is to teach us that we are Love and nothing else, as Love created us. As we let Him be our Guide in each moment, we learn to let go of the ego’s barriers to Love.

We all have a shared purpose — to bring Love to the world. This is how we heal our minds and share the healing with the mind of every brother. It is the unity of Love that makes this healing instantly shared. In this sharing we bless and are blessed. Let’s all have a blessed day today.

How to Be a Happy Learner

Damnation is your judgment on yourself, and this you will project upon the world. See it as damned, and all you see is what you did to hurt the Son of God. If you behold disaster and catastrophe, you tried to crucify him. If you see holiness and hope, you joined the Will of God to set him free.

How foolish is it to attempt to judge what could be seen instead. It is not necessary to imagine what the world must look like. It must be seen [with Holy Spirit’s vision] before you recognize it for what it is. You can be shown which doors are open, and you can see where safety lies; and which way leads to darkness, which to light. Judgment will always give you false directions, but vision [true perception] shows you where to go. Why should you guess?

There is no need to learn through pain. And gentle lessons are acquired joyously, and are remembered gladly. What gives you happiness you want to learn and not forget. It is not this you would deny. Your question is whether the means by which this course is learned will bring to you the joy it promises. If you believed it would, the learning of it would be no problem. You are not a happy learner yet because you still remain uncertain that vision gives you more than judgment does, and you have learned that both you cannot have. (A Course in Miracles, T-21.in.2:1-4. The ego does not trust the Will of God, because it believes God’s Will demands sacrifice. But this is the ego’s projection of its own demand for sacrifice. The ego cannot conceive of giving all without limit because it is the choice to believe in limitation. While we identify with the ego, we will not trust the vision offered us by the Holy Spirit in our mind.

It is this lack of trust that makes the message of the Course difficult to accept. It seems that accepting the happiness that is God’s Will for us would require sacrifice of our identity — the ultimate loss, perceived as death. Yet accepting God’s Will for us is the restoration of our true Identity and the end of the false identity made by the ego.

The Holy Spirit is our Friend, though the ego perceives It as enemy. If we want to be truly happy, at peace and complete in the Love of God, we need only accept the Self God created one with Him. The practice of bringing all our perceptions to the Holy Spirit, with willingness to accept His vision, will lead us to remember we are forever at Home in God’s joy.
