Simplicity and Ease

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Let today be a day of simplicity and ease… Let your mind quiet and be in a place of rest… Let the feeling of simple, uncomplicated Love fill your mind today… Keep it simple and rest… Let yourself be carried in Love’s splendor…

Robert:
All that is really meaningful for me in this world is learning the lessons God would have me learn. Because I am one with the Sonship, the blessing I receive by learning God’s lessons bless the Sonship.

Every day there are myriad temptations to perceive the world is real. I do get caught up in these perceptions, but I am learning to more quickly recognize that my peace has been disturbed and what I really want is the peace of God.

So I offer each of these perceptions to the Holy Spirit with the willingness to receive His loving correction. That is my only meaningful function. The more I follow through on this purpose, the greater my peace and happiness. I will practice again today and have a happy day. And thus will the world be blessed along with me.

Let the Holy Spirit be the judge of all things today.

Mary:
Today presents another opportunity to practice seeing past individuality and differences to the oneness that is really there. Today is another opportunity to practice stepping back and letting the Holy Spirit show me the truth of oneness behind the false stories of separate bodies. This is the forgiveness work that is before me today: To see past separate forms to the one Christ Light.

What I desire to see I will see. Today my intent is to let my mind be healed by the Holy Spirit. Judgment is not my job. I will let the Holy Spirit be the judge of all things today.

Robert:
The ego is heavily invested in the “reality” of the world. Its seeming existence depends upon our belief that the world of forms and images is real. A Course in Miracles tells us point blank: There is no world and the body is nothing. This shakes the ego to its core, understandably so. For when we fully accept these facts, the ego will no longer seem to exist. We will see our brother as he is: The loving extension of God’s Love. We will experience the peace and the joy that come with knowing there is no “other” that can threaten us, there is only the joy of God.

Each moment I choose what I want. I have taught myself that there is value in the world and its myriad forms. But by the grace of God, I have a Teacher in my mind ready to teach me to recognize what is truly valuable, to undo the false lessons I have taught myself. My increasing experience of peace and happiness motivates me to continue to be vigilant to offer my false ideas to the Holy Spirit for His kind and gentle correction. I want what this correction brings. I want the peace and joy of God. Thank you God for giving me the means to accept your gifts.

Deciding for Peace

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today practice allowing God’s peace to replace all that you think you think. You think you see a world where all is separate, distinct and alone. When you choose peace, the way is made for the Holy Spirit to bring you a new perception. Here you will see the Light that lies beyond the veil of individual identities. Here you will see that we are all one Light and there is no distance between us. Choosing to accept God’s peace means that you are willing to allow God’s World to return to your mind. You are willing for oneness to replace the perception of differences.

As you go through your day, your practice is to allow the awareness of God’s peace to return to your mind. Have a peace-filled day. It is worth the vigilance. Practice deciding for peace and have a happy day.

Robert:
What do I really want? I want the peace of God, because I want to be my Self. The world I see is not my Home. Yet I remain at Home in Heaven. While I identify with an image of being within the world I see, I am unaware of my true Home, yet I am still There. Beneath all the attempts to make images in the world content me, all I really want is to remember Who I am.

I am grateful that I have a Friend within my mind, ready in any instant to help me see past the mistaken perceptions to the truth that I am already Home in Love. By choosing peace I open my mind to my Friend’s gentle and loving correction. We walk together Homeward bound. It is a journey of joy.

Seeing with the Eyes of Christ

Mary:
This morning we read in A Course in Miracles, Clarification of Terms, section 5, “Jesus - Christ” on pages 87-88. This section reinforces that Jesus is always present in our minds to help us when we forget. It says, “Jesus remains a Savior because he saw the false without accepting it as true. And Christ needed his form that He might appear to men and save them from their own illusions.” (2:5-6)

Because I grew up with the experience that Jesus was a great helper when I felt distressed by anything, he remains a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s help, even now. Reading this section again reminds me how powerful the help is and that I always have it right here in my mind. It is comforting to be told, “He will remain with you to lead you from the hell you made to God. And when you join your will with his, your sight will be his vision, for the eyes of Christ are shared. Walking with him is just as natural as walking with a brother whom you knew since you were born, for such indeed he is.” (5:4-6)

Today I am going to practice walking with Jesus and open my mind to join my will with his. It is wonderful to remember that the eyes of Christ are shared and that I can see everything as Jesus sees it, if I am willing. This is my practice today. What a wonderful opportunity I have today. And I give thanks.

Robert:
Every day, every moment, is an opportunity to remember Who I am. This is the lesson God would have me learn. God wants me to remember His joy and His Love. He wants me to remember His peace. These are my inheritance. I recognize these gifts when I see with the eyes of Love, the eyes of Christ. Today my practice is to let Love guide my vision in every moment; to let Love be the interpreter of all the images of the world. This is how I will learn to recognize my Self.

Releasing False Ideas

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Love is One. Love is changeless. Love does not see differences. Because Love is One, Love sees only Love. This is your practice now: To remember your Identity is only Love and as Love, you see only Love.

If you see something else and consider that it is real, step back and put this perception on Love’s Altar, to be cleansed of false ideas. This is how you let the truth be returned to your mind. This is how you heal and are healed. This is how you return to the truth and see that you have never left. This is how you see that Love is One.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
When you believe you are separate, you will feel incomplete, for you have denied your union with your Source. This belief in being separate carries with it a longing for your completion.

The ego will direct you to search in myriad places for this completion, but it will always direct you to where completion cannot be found. In truth you do not need to search for completion, for it is already yours. But you do need to search for the barriers you have built in your mind that block your awareness of your wholeness. You could never be incomplete, but you can believe you are incomplete. And belief makes appearance seem real.

Let our longing for completion motivate you to search for the barriers, the judgments, that interfere with your awareness of What you are. Practice moment by moment bringing everything that disturbs your peace of mind to the Holy Spirit. Release it to Him. Let Him show you the truth beyond what you have perceived.

Of yourself you cannot reason yourself into letting go of a false idea because you are attempting to use a false foundation for reason that can never lead to truth. Let the Holy Spirit replace this faulty foundation with His reason, founded on the truth that only Love is real. All you need do is release the disturbing thought to Him. He will do the rest.

Accept God’s Peace

Mary:
My practice today is to accept God’s peace. This is at the top of my to-do list today. To the ego, this seems quite unimportant and a waste of time. To the Holy Spirit, accepting peace opens the door to receive all of God’s gifts.

As I practice accepting God’s peace and letting it fill all the corners of my mind, a sense of gentleness and well being comes with it. A sense that everything is all right comes with it. All sense of urgency disappears. Accepting God’s peace truly is the gateway to the lawns of Heaven. The hourly practice of accepting God’s peace brings on the happy dream where the awareness of Love’s Presence is felt. I more easily remember that I am still as God created me and I am one with every brother in truth. The dream scenarios are taken lightly. The heaviness of the world’s stories is lifted. And there is a great tendency to be lighthearted instead of heavyhearted.

This truly is an important practice that I have today to make choosing God’s peace my highest priority. Oh happy day!

Robert:
Recently I received a phone call from a friend who wanted help with a concern. As we talked, I was reminded how easily I make up stories about perceived circumstances. I start with a little bit of information, severely limited by the tiny range of my perception, and make up stories to fill in the missing information.

When I get into this mode, the stories I make up are scary because they come from a belief that I am separate. This is why the training offered in the Workbook of A Course in Miracles is so helpful. It reminds me that I give everything I see all the meaning it has for me and encourages me to be determined above all else to see differently.

That willingness is essential for me to be open to accepting Holy Spirit’s view and interpretation. While I believe I am on my own it is impossible for me to interpret anything correctly. I need to be willing to receive the Holy Spirit’s vision, which sees beyond form and time and reveals the truth.

Above all else today I am determined to welcome and accept Holy Spirit’s vision.

Choose God’s Lessons

Robert:
Today I was reminded of A Course in Miracles, Workbook Lesson 193, “All things are lessons God would have me learn.” It’s becoming more and more clear to me that whatever appears to be my circumstance, what I perceive with the body and what I think it means, is just the setting for the lesson God would have me learn. Lesson 193 offers an affirmation to use in response “to every apprehension, every care and every form of suffering… I will forgive, and this will disappear.” (W-pI.193.13:3-4)

My job in every moment is to choose to learn the lesson of forgiveness God would have me learn. The ego is always there offering its lesson that separation and death are real. If I choose the ego’s lesson I get to experience the continuation of guilt and fear the ego offers. But God continues to offer His lesson so that if I choose the ego in one moment, the next moment I have the opportunity to choose once again. It is impossible to condemn myself eternally to hell. I always have an opportunity to choose again.

The more I choose God’s lessons, the happier I am and the more peace I experience. I think I am getting it: To be happy, choose God’s lessons! I am grateful for what I have learned from the Course and through practicing the Workbook lessons. The Light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. The increasing happiness and peace shows me the practice is working and it is worth the effort.

Today I will practice reminding myself with every appearance I perceive that disturbs my peace in any way: I will forgive, and this will disappear.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today practice letting go and letting God. Today practice putting all your thoughts on God’s Altar so that what is not true is washed away. Today practice letting your mind relax. Let your mind quiet and go with the flow of Holy Spirit’s guidance in each present moment. This practice will lead you to the experience of peace, simplicity and ease.
