Remembering the Peace of Our True Home

The hush of Heaven holds my heart today.

Father, how still today! How quietly do all things fall in place! This is the day that has been chosen as the time in which I come to under­stand the lesson that there is no need that I do anything. In You is every choice already made. In You has every conflict been resolved. In You is everything I hope to find already given me. Your peace is mine. My heart is quiet, and my mind at rest. Your Love is Heaven, and Your Love is mine.

The stillness of today will give us hope that we have found the way, and travelled far along it to a wholly certain goal. Today we will not doubt the end which God Himself has promised us. We trust in Him, and in our Self, Who still is one with Him. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 286, W-pII.286. See also ACIM Lesson 286 Insights.)

This lesson reminds us of our natural state as God’s Son. We are held eternally in the quiet peace of Heaven, our Home. Though we wandered off into a dream of lack, conflict, guilt and fear, we still remain in the Heart of God.

We do not need to do anything to be where and What we were created to be. In fact, we need to stop trying to be something else. It is the wish to be something else that makes the dream of a world of separation appear real. This wish gives value to illusions and holds them in our minds as a barrier hiding Heaven from our awareness. We return to knowing Heaven when we let go of wishing to have a domain we call our own, to be separate.

Today we remind ourselves that all we really want is to be aware of our true Home by frequently repeating to ourselves, “The hush of Heaven holds my heart today.”
