Only God’s Love Is Real

Christ’s vision has one law. It does not look upon a body, and mistake it for the Son whom God created. It beholds a light beyond the body; an idea beyond what can be touched, a purity undimmed by errors, pitiful mistakes, and fearful thoughts of guilt from dreams of sin. It sees no separation. And it looks on everyone, on every circumstance, all happenings and all events, without the slightest fading of the light it sees.

This lesson is not difficult to learn, if you remember in your brother you but see yourself. If he be lost in sin, so must you be; if you see light in him, your sins have been forgiven by yourself. Each brother whom you meet today provides another chance to let Christ’s vision shine on you, and offer you the peace of God. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 158, W-pI.158.7,10:3-5. Today we practice beholding the Light beyond all bodies, beyond all differences, beyond all form. We practice seeing every brother as the same Love God is… As we practice this we are able to remember that we are the same Love as God… As we practice this, differences disappear and we are able to see Love’s innocence in everyone… As we practice seeing only innocence, we experience God’s peace… We remember that no one in reality can harm or be harmed, because only God’s Love is real… And what is not real is harmless…

Through Christ’s vision we wake up from the ego’s mind set of separation and differences… We remember that only God’s Love is real…

Freedom from Fear

To follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance is to let yourself be absolved of guilt. It is the essence of the Atonement. It is the core of the curriculum. The imagined usurping of functions not your own is the basis of fear. The whole world you see reflects the illusion that you have done so, making fear inevitable. To return the function to the One to Whom it belongs is thus the escape from fear. And it is this that lets the memory of love return to you. (A Course in Miracles, M-29.3:3-9)

We practice today referring decisions to the Holy Spirit with increasing frequency. We refrain from making decisions on our own and instead open our minds to receive Holy Spirit’s guidance.

We open our minds to receive the Holy Spirit’s gifts of peace and Love… We know we will be guided by Love…

With Holy Spirit’s guidance, we become aware that we are being carried… Inspiration comes in spontaneously… Our one goal is to be truly helpful and we receive the wisdom we need as we need it through the day… Our confidence grows with consistent practice… Our desire is great to follow only Holy Spirit’s plan… We remember to ask all things of the Holy Spirit, knowing we receive as we have asked. And we are grateful for all the help we receive.

Accepting God’s Will of Perfect Happiness

God’s Will for you is perfect happiness because there is no sin, and suffering is causeless. Joy is just, and pain is but the sign you have misunderstood yourself. Fear not the Will of God. But turn to it in confidence that it will set you free from all the consequences sin has wrought in feverish imagination. Say:

God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.
There is no sin; it has no consequence.

We are united with the Source of Love within us, whether we realize it or not. As we open our minds to this truth, we are able to feel the joy and happiness that is inherent in the Essence of our being. As we accept this truth, that we are inherently happy and filled with joy, we extend it to the world. Fear thoughts cannot remain as our inherent happiness fills our mind, and we feel safe in Love’s Presence.

All this awareness returns to us as we accept God’s Will of Perfect Happiness.

We Walk Steadily Toward Truth

God’s Voice speaks to me all through the day. There is not a moment in which God’s Voice ceases to call on my forgiveness to save me. There is not a moment in which His Voice fails to direct my thoughts, guide my actions and lead my feet. I am walking steadily on toward truth. There is nowhere else I can go, because God’s Voice is the only Voice and the only Guide that has been given to His Son.” (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 60, W-pI.60.4. Today our focus is on listening to God’s Voice… We open all our inner windows and doors, welcoming the Light of Truth today… We have an open mind and listen… and listen again…

We want to hear the inspiration coming from God’s Voice, and so we are receptive enough to hear it… We let in the gentleness… peace… and sense of well being the Holy Spirit brings… We let in the inspiration for how to be truly helpful in every situation…

We remember that we are walking steadily toward truth by accepting Holy Spirit’s help… We are so grateful we have a healing Partner Who speaks to us all through the day…

Extending Love’s Blessings

Those who would free their brothers from the body can have no fear. They have renounced the means for sin [separation] by choosing to let all limitations be removed. As they desire to look upon their brothers in holiness, the power of their belief and faith sees far beyond the body, supporting vision, not obstructing it.… For all who choose to look away from sin are given vision, and are led to holiness. Today we focus on looking at where we are placing our faith and belief… Are we placing it in the ego’s thought of separation, or are we placing our faith and belief in Christ’s vision? With Christ’s vision we are able to see beyond bodies to the eternal Presence of Love in everyone…

We practice placing our faith and belief in Christ’s vision today to help ourselves and every brother in this world. This is what brings us happiness. This is what brings us peace. And we are grateful to receive Love’s blessings and extend it to the world.

Let Christ’s Vision Show Us We Are Forgiven

Let not my world obscure the sight of Christ. I can obscure my holy sight, if I intrude my world upon it. Nor can I behold the holy sights Christ looks upon, unless it is His vision that I use. Perception is a mirror, not a fact. And what I look on is my state of mind, reflected outward. I would bless the world by looking on it through the eyes of Christ. And I will look upon the certain signs that all my sins have been forgiven me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 304, W-pII.304.1. See also ACIM Lesson 304 Insights.)

The vision of Christ always shows us the truth beyond the appearances of the world. The world of form is the ego’s mechanism for obscuring Christ’s vision. The body’s eyes can never show us what Christ’s vision sees.

To see the world truly, we must shift our attention from the body’s perceptions to the vision that comes into our minds when we are willing to be in peace and lay aside, at least for a moment, our perceptions of the world. As we open our minds to the inner vision of Christ, we see the unity of Love that joins us with our brothers and our Source. 

With Christ’s vision we lay aside the obscuring images of the ego. Forgiveness is automatic because Christ’s vision shows us only the innocence of Love.

God’s Strength Supports Us Eternally

When you have felt the strength in you, which makes all miracles within your easy reach, you will not doubt. The miracles your sense of weakness hides will leap into awareness as you feel the strength in you.

…instruct yourself that you are not a body.

Remember that all sense of weakness is associated with the belief you are a body, a belief that is mistaken and deserves no faith. Try to remove your faith from it, if only for a moment.

The strength of God and all His Thoughts supports us in our efforts to awaken. Our slightest willingness is fully supported by God’s Love. God wants us to remember that we have all of His Love. We are perfectly safe in God’s Love. We remain eternally joined with Love in Love, for Love is one. There is no greater place of safety than in the changelessness of Love.

This is our Home, where we were created to be. Every brother joins us in this Home. Its Patriarch is Love, Which shares all of Itself with all our brothers. As we accept this fully, all the searching ends, for we know we are complete, lacking nothing, because all that is real is already ours.
