Choose Peace First

Holy Spirit through Mary:  No matter what, go to peace. Choose peace first. The effect of choosing peace is allowing yourself to be carried. When you choose peace, you are opening your mind to the flow of Love and gentleness that is inherent in the Holy Spirit. Mountains become mole hills. What seemed difficult becomes simple. Just remember one thing today—choose peace. Once you feel the fullness of God’s peace, you will know exactly how to proceed.

Keep it simple. Keep it easy. And all conflict will dissolve. When you remember to choose peace, you are remembering to let the Holy Spirit guide your thoughts and actions. Do this one thing—choose peace—and everything will unfold as God would have it be. Amen.

Robert:  The Course says that this world is a dream, an illusion of being separate. The body’s eyes were made to show us images. While we identify with the body, we will seem to see images. We are not asked to deny that we see images. We are asked to deny that these images have any meaning of their own. As we learn to withdraw the meaning we give to what we see, we are able to open our awareness to what lies beyond images, beyond perception.

With practice, we can learn not to deny that we see images, but to disregard the images we see. That is how we open our hearts and minds to the vision of Christ, the Holy Spirit’s vision. That is how we learn to see Love everywhere, innocence everywhere. Today I will practice disregarding the meaning I give images and opening to the Holy Spirit’s vision. As I do this, it is inevitable that I will have a happy day because what remains to be “seen” is only Love. With Love comes joy and peace.

Holy Spirit through Sharyn: The joy of feeling the Oneness with your Father is truly a feeling to behold. When these feelings come closer and closer together, your joy cannot help but be contagious to others. Be aware today of feeling One with your Father and the Holy Spirit and watch the joy that it brings to you and others around you. This truly is a step to be taken by a teacher of God. Amen.

Holy Spirit through Annie:  Love is the way, the only way, the eternal way, the peaceful way. Walk in Love and you will have the answer to all questions that may arise in your mind. Love is always the answer. There are no mistakes in Love. There are no levels in Love. Love is maximal. Love transforms and heals. Love will enlighten you. Amen.

What Is Our Role as a Teacher of God?

Robert:  The news is dominated by tomorrow’s election day and the choice we need to make when we vote. This is a time for us to remember what is our role as a teacher of God. A teacher of God is not perfect, but he teaches perfection over and over until he learns it. Perfection is given us all by God. Perfection is Love. That is what we are. In the world of dreams, we have identified with a false image of ourselves that stands as a barrier to the awareness of the perfect Love that we are.

So as we make our decision about who to vote for, we need to remember that only Love is real. We need to be aware of whether our decision is based on fear, lack and separation or on forgiveness, Love, joining and helpfulness. As we make our decision, it is the purpose we give that matters. We have no basis to judge on our own. But as we let the Oneness of Love be our Guide, we will decide based on the Love we see, on joining in oneness, on seeing wholeness in our brothers.

The voting decision is simply another form of decision we make in every instant. In every instant we choose the purpose we give our brother. If we align with the ego, we give our brother the purpose of demonstrating that we are separate. When we align with Holy Spirit, the purpose is to join and remember the holiness in everyone. Today I will practice keeping my mind open to the Holy Spirit’s vision that shows me the holiness in everyone, thereby reminding me of my own. Thus will I bless and be blessed.

Holy Spirit through Mary: Today choose peace. Practice choosing peace again and again as you go through your day. Choosing peace means putting the welcome mat out for the Holy Spirit. Peace is the Holy Spirit’s gift. Choosing peace means that you are willing to accept the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As you accept peace, peace fills your heart and mind. Understanding comes with it. In the Course you are told that peace and understanding go together and are never found alone.

So today, keep it very simple by consistently choosing peace. Choosing peace means allowing the feeling of peace to fill you and guide you. Because you always get what you truly want in your heart of hearts, when choose peace and accept peace, you will receive peace, because of the power of your willingness. Enjoy a peaceful day, brought to you because you want it and are willing to accept it.

Returning to Peace

Robert:  In this time, when the world appears to be in turmoil, I can be most helpful by choosing peace. If anything disturbs my peace, I heal the world by returning to peace. When I allow peace to return to my awareness, the clear vision of Christ comes with it. I am able to see past appearances to the Love that is there everywhere. In clarity, I am guided in all my doing. And this doing will always be helpful to the whole. That’s my job.

Mary:  What I am learning is, with every concern, to step back and take the time to breathe in peace and extend peace. As I practice this daily with each situation that I am concerned with, I am brought to a new awareness of what is really important. I am brought to the awareness of the insignificance of the body. I am brought to a state of mind where nothing matters but Love. I am brought to a place where I realize that I need do nothing on my own. I am being carried. My only true function is the one God gave me and that is given without my even asking. I am brought to the awareness that in truth all is well and that each minute brings me to a place of deeper healing if I allow it. I allow myself to be led now. This is my practice today.

Sharyn:  I heard, “Go in peace. Stay in peace and be peace and the joy will come. When you constantly remind yourself to go to peace, you are really going to the One Who has only your best interests in mind. Do not ever be concerned that you need to learn lessons all by yourself, for He will send the perfect person, situation or circumstance to you for your highest good. Be not afraid because He is with you always and knows what is perfectly suited for you. When your awareness of a situation lets you know that changes are needed, Spirit is the only one that can help with that to make your transition easier for you.”

Isn’t it funny how sometimes without His help we choose to hang on to pain? Who in their right mind would choose that?

I heard, “Do not come down on yourself for that, but rejoice that there is a lesson to be learned now and you have been given the perfect Teacher to walk through that with. He will help you let go of your end of the tug of war that has been going on with others or with yourself in your own mind. Drop your end of the rope and allow Me to carry you to the place of peace, where all gifts from your Father are received.”

Annie: When Love cuts the rope that we have allowed, each end of the rope is filled with the light of true freedom. This freedom brings growth, it brings peace and it brings awareness of God to all the minds that are learning their own lessons in freedom.

Remembering Who I Am

Robert:  When I remember Who I am, I naturally see the Love in all my brothers. I naturally extend Love everywhere to everyone. I naturally see innocence. I easily recognize that, though behavior may appear to be fearful or an expression of guilt, behind that appearance is only Love and only Love is true. When I remember Who I am, I walk in trust, for I am certain of the strength of God in me. I am certain of His Love. I am certain of my invulnerability. When I remember Who I am, I live in peace, for I remember there is only One.

Mary:  When I go to the Holy Spirit in my mind and listen, the first words I hear are, “Accept My gift of peace.” As I follow and do this, I am filled with a sense that in truth, everything is all right. In truth everything is safe. All the stories on the news are just stories. They cannot replace the truth that we are safe. We are still as God created us. We have not left Heaven.

This helps because the stories on the news seem to be about division and lack. The stories reflect conflict, turmoil and danger. My job right now is to take all these stories the Holy Spirit. In Holy Spirit’s hands, they fade away and are replaced by a deep feeling of peace and knowing that nothing can really harm God’s one Son. This sense of turmoil, lack and loss can be reversed by the Holy Spirit if I allow it. All these events can become a turning point by which the Sonship accepts a better way. All “events” are useful when brought to the Holy Spirit for healing. This brings me to a place where I feel encouraged and enthusiastic about the awakening that is occurring in the midst of what appears to be conflict and lack in the dream.

God’s Voice expressing through Annie: I already gave you all you could possibly need to be perfectly happy, perfectly peaceful and perfectly in love with all. Take it freely. It is never ending. It will never decrease, only increase. My Love fills up every heart eternally. Never doubt it for one second. I am the Source of ever plentiful Love. All that you could possibly need you already have, you already are. If you look carefully, you will see it in everyone and in every circumstance. All that you could possibly need you already are My child.

Holy Spirit Is Always Kind and Gentle

Mary:  I feel a pervasive, permeating feeling of gentleness. I hear, “Use the gentleness of Spirit to lead you Home. You can recognize the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is always kind and gentle in every situation. Allow in the feeling of gentleness and it will lead you to experiences of kindness and gentleness through your day.

If you find any situation not gentle, welcome Holy Spirit’s gentleness into your mind and let the feeling of gentleness take over. And the Holy Spirit’s Thoughts will take over with it. Just let that be your practice today. Apply this within your mind and with what seems to be an outer world experience. Let the word ‘gentleness’ carry you to the Holy Spirit’s experience of gentleness.

Holy Spirit through Robert:  Rest in Me. Rest in My certainty. I know What you are. And because I am Love’s communication with you, I do not change my Mind about you. Love’s Will for you is perfect happiness. And I am here to guide you to perfect happiness, to guide you to the full awareness of What you are in truth. Rest in Me and I will bring you Home.

Annie:  Transform. Trans-form—beyond the form. Going beyond the form into the content of everything is going into Love, which is the reality all things true. Be watchful for the Love and for the Light, which is the Light of Heaven, glowing around all things.

Gentle is the heart that sets its eyes on what makes all things glow. And that is Love. Amen.

Sharyn:  My message from Holy Spirit this morning is going back to the volcano symbol that came to me the other day. Holy Spirit is asking me to actually be and feel what it would be like to be a volcano. And at the very core of my being is this lava. And that is God’s Will for me. The lava is the Love and, with my willingness and stepping aside, Holy Spirit is just bringing that lava up and then it just flows.

This lava is very gently flowing into every aspect. It is bringing the Love, the very core of my being to everything and every one. Holy Spirit says this lava, when it is allowed to just flow, fills any gaps between you and your brother where you thought you were separate. As you allow this lava to flow, it gently fills and seeps into any cracks or distances or holes with the Love that you really are. There is no need for the volcano to erupt and whether it be in anger or misperceptions or ideas of separation or lack because when an eruption takes place, it scatters the Love and everything seems separate. So just concentrate on being that volcano of Love and allowing the lava to come forth and just flow. Amen.

Remembering That Minds Are Joined

Holy Spirit through Mary:  Think about the fact the minds are joined. When you are talking with someone, remember that your mind is joined with theirs in truth, that you share the same united mind in reality. That will help you let go of the idea of private, separate minds which have interests of their own.

This is an important step in returning to the fact that all is one and that division of any kind simply is not true. As you are increasingly willing to join with the truth that minds are joined, you will find a freedom that cannot be denied. You will find a happiness and peace that is beyond all the little separate minds that you have believed in.

Division of any kind is false. Distinctions are inherently false in oneness. The journey Home involves the recognition that all are inherently the same because all are inherently joined as one Mind. Now is the time to rejoice that this is true. Now is the time to accept your oneness. Amen.

Holy Spirit through Annie: Love is the substance that keeps all hearts together as one and so it is with the minds; the one Will keeps them perfectly joined as one. One Love. One Will. One Sonship. One in God. All is God. Amen.

Robert:  The Holy Spirit sees the body as having one meaningful purpose in the dream—it is an instrument of communication. In the world communication devices can be clear or filled with static and interference. When we are wrapped up in ego thinking the connection with Holy Spirit is blocked so we walk around feeling disconnected and alone.

We clear the channel by taking time to return to peace. In peace we once again open our minds to the Holy Spirit’s inspiration and we return to being His instrument of communication. The body becomes a means of expressing Love in what seems to be a loveless world. As we practice this, we release the world from all we thought it was and we return to the vision of Christ, which sees only innocence and opens us to the full acceptance that we are still safe in Love.

Letting Love Be In Charge

Mary:  We have begun joining each morning with the Pathways staff, which now consists of Robert, Mary, Sharyn Zenz, and Annie Arbona (living in Charleston, SC), who joins us on the speaker phone. We begin by reading the Course together and then asking Holy Spirit to bring us any insights. It is truly a blessing to join together in this way and share with each other what comes to us from Holy Spirit.

Annie: What comes to mind is the phrase, “The Lord of Love is in charge.” I think it is really saying that Love is in charge. The feeling is that when we try to be in charge, that is when sadness comes in or when fear comes in. The feeling is, don’t try to be in charge of your life. It really doesn’t work. Let Love be in charge of your life. Love will take over if you will let It.

Sharyn:  So be the Lord that you are, all of you. Learning to Love that Lord within you is what this is all about. Sometimes one’s unworthiness gets in the way of calling themselves Lord. But guess what? You are Lord. And when you allow that consciousness of being Lord of your life, which means tapping into the highest Thoughts within you, only Love comes. The gifts of peace, happiness, joy and Love all come from your Lord within.

Accept these gifts as you go about your day, remembering Who you really are. Please be humble and accept the gift of being the Lord of Love. This is where you all are on your path now and it is a very important step to accept this. Isn’t it wonderful to be amongst the Lords of Love? In reality, you are accepting your oneness because there is only one Lord of Love.

Mary:  This is what is meant by let go and let God. As we practice letting go of what we think is real, what we see with our body’s eyes, and hand over these perceptions to the Holy Spirit, we find that only Love is real. We truly are joined in the one Mind of Love. There is nothing else in reality.

We can relax now. We can let go of all the struggle. We can let go and let the Love of our true Nature return to our mind. This is what our life is for now—the practice of letting go of all we thought we knew and handing over all these false ideas to the one Source of all true knowledge.

As we are willing to let go of what is not true, what is true has a chance to enter our minds. We cannot hold both what is not true and what is true in our minds at the same time. That is why letting go and letting God is our only function now. That is how we wake up from the false dream of thinking separate bodies with separate minds are real. That is how our minds are healed.

Robert:  This morning we read the section “Choose Once Again” at the end of Chapter 31 of the ACIM Text. A phrase that stood out to me was that God created us as the altar to joy. That brought up in me a feeling of comfort and gratitude. It was another reminder that God’s Will for me, all of us, is perfect happiness. If I’m not experiencing that, I am believing in a false idea of what I am. I need to offer that idea to the Holy Spirit and open my mind and heart to His gentle correction. With my willingness, i will receive the one and only gift that is eternally given: The Love of God. The attributes of God’s Love are peace and joy. What an inheritance! My heart is filled with gratitude.
