The Strength of God Sees Past Appearances

It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see… Strength overlooks these things [weakness, lack] by seeing past appearances. It keeps its steady gaze upon the light that lies beyond [appearances]. …In darkness you perceive a self that is not there. Strength is the truth about you…. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.92.3:1,4:1-2,6-7)

My focus for today is to allow God’s strength in me to see past appearances to the truth. When thoughts of weakness and limitation come up, my job today is to hand these thoughts over to God’s strength in me that they may be undone. God’s strength is there when I am willing to accept it. Accepting God’s strength is my practice for today.

It is only when I believe I am weak that I think I need to protect myself. When I accept God’s strength in me, I know that there is nothing to defend against. Today I ask Holy Spirit to help me recognize thoughts of weakness and to help me see past these false appearances to the Light that is in me and everywhere. This practice makes today an opportunity to continue my journey to the Home where I belong.
