Waken Gently with Joy

God willed [His Son] waken gently and with joy, and gave him means to waken without fear.

Accept the dream He gave instead of yours. …Rest in the Holy Spirit, and allow His gentle dreams to take the place of those you dreamed in terror and in fear of death. (A Course in Miracles T-27.VII.13:5,14:1,3)

The ego would have us believe that God is to be feared. This is simply a projection of the ego belief in the reality of separation and the guilt that is its consequence. This passage from the Course is an assurance that fear of God is never justified. In fact, He has given us the means to awaken without fear, to let the dream end gently. The Holy Spirit offers us the means to forgive or let go of the idea that separation could ever occur. As we let the Holy Spirit help us forgive, we make way for the Holy Spirit’s happy dream in which we recognize the innocence of every brother and ourselves.

Today our practice is to stay in peace where the Holy Spirit will help us let go of the mistaken belief in guilt. In peace, we will see the truth in our brother and ourselves. In peace, the Holy Spirit will help us let go of the barriers to love we have made, and we will remember the joy of unity in the reality of Love.
