My Garden

Rev. Sharyn Zenz

imageFather I’ve come to my garden for
cultivation and growth. It is here You
will show me abundance that flows.

It is here that the peace and joy abound.
Overflowing with love and much happiness found.

In the stillness and the silence will the
growing take place, as I step back and
allow Holy Spirit to show me the pace.

As I learn each time I come here with my
blank slate, Holy Spirit knows what’s
best for me and has become my best “mate.”

When I sit quietly with Him and watch this
garden grow, I am reassured constantly that
my highest good will ever flow.

Abundance is assuredly mine I am told,
while I sit in the stillness of this little abode.

Bring here your concerns, worries or cares
and I will transform them
so there are no more flares.

You can then feel free to go about
the business at hand, the business of helping
Holy Spirit heal throughout the land.

Introducing the Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament

Regina Dawn Akers

imageOn June 18, 2005, I was in meditation with Holy Spirit when I began to hear a message in my mind. I was asked to accept that the New Testament is only a symbol, and I was asked to read the New Testament realizing that I do not understand the symbol. I was told that if I would do this, its meaning would be given to me.

I had already received guidance to leave my job and my home in Massachusetts and move to North Carolina, so I did not start reading the New Testament immediately. My time was focused on making that move. But early one morning in August, after completing the move to North Carolina, I was awakened by the Holy Spirit and told to begin the work now. It took 13 ½ months to complete the scribing of The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament: A Course in Understanding and Acceptance (NTI).

NTI is an incredible gift that came like A Course in Miracles (ACIM), through a process of inner dictation. It is an interpretation of the New Testament that is compatible with ACIM. And yet, NTI stands alone and does not need to be read with ACIM.

NTI uses different symbols and approaches the mind from a different angle, so that it teaches the same message in a different way. Many students of A Course in Miracles have found it helpful to read NTI. Because of its different approach, it often helps them to gain clarity where there may have been confusion before.

When people ask me to describe NTI for them, my first reaction is always wordlessness. Wordlessness may be the best description of NTI, because the value of this gift cannot be described in words. It can only be known in the heart.

NTI is somewhat like a spiral staircase. It seems to begin on a specific step and continually ascends from there. Step-by-step, it takes us very high into spiritual realization through our willingness to awaken and know thy Self.

NTI is a tool that helps us release the idea of guilt, accept our innocence and realize the Love that we are as One. It helps us to be aware of the obstacles that block our knowledge of truth, and it provides specific guidance on how to let those obstacles go. NTI has been described as a loving approach to letting go of the ego. It is given to us by the Voice of Love, and the experience of reading it is one of Love.

I am very happy to be able to share NTI with you. It is a gift for all of us, and it is given to us through our willingness to receive it. As the Holy Spirit says in the introduction to NTI, “It is a gift of Love given to one who recognizes he has forgotten Love, and so he asks that its remembrance be given him in Grace and Love. Love cannot say no to a request for Love.”

Following is an excerpt from the book:

Matthew, Chapter 22

#(v 1 – 10) 1The kingdom of Heaven is like a wedding banquet. 2For marriage is the symbol of joining, and the kingdom of Heaven is joining. 3But at this wedding banquet, there are no guests. 4For everyone who comes will find himself joined within the glory of this ceremony.

5All who come may see himself as bride or as groom. 6It is not important how he sees himself on coming. 7During the journey to the banquet, he may even see himself as an invited guest. 8As long as he is following his invitation to come, how he sees himself in the coming is not important.

9Some may seem to have a long journey to the wedding banquet with many distractions along the way. 10Others may seem to live closer and arrive quickly after hearing the call to come. 11The length of the journey is not important. 12The journey itself, or what seems to happen along its way, matters not.

13All are invited to the wedding banquet, and all, in their time, will arrive. 14It is upon arriving that they will realize what they have been invited to attend. 15Upon that realization, all else will fall away. 16They will not remember if they were bride or groom or guest. 17They will not remember if the journey was short or long, with many distractions or few. 18All that they will know is that they have arrived, and they are joined.

(v 11 - 14) 1No one who comes will be turned away, for no one can come unless he is ready, and if he is ready, he shall be wearing his wedding clothes. 2Do not fear that you will be turned away from God. 3When God looks at you, God sees you as spotless and ready for the joining. 4Even more, God sees you as already joined and at the banquet.

5It is you who judges and sees yourself as guilty.

6This is but a distraction on your journey to the wedding banquet. 7Let it not keep you from your Father, who waits in peace at the banquet table, eager to embrace His Son again.

(v 15 - 22) 1The journey to the wedding banquet seems to be time in the world. 2On this journey, the distraction of the world may be great. 3There will be times that you have forgotten you are on the journey, because the distraction of the world is great. 4Let this not distress you. 5Your joy will come when you have completed the journey, for then you will know where the journey led. 6But until then, do not feel guilty for journeying, my child. 7For this seems to be something you must do.

8On your journey, remember Me and keep Me close to your heart. 9But do not deny the journey you are on. 10It leads to Me and the disappearance of the journey.

11“Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s” means, do what you seem to need to do while you are in the world.

12When you have forgotten you are on the journey, there will seem to be many things that need your attention. 13I am in those things too, whether you see Me or not, so do them in peace.

14When you remember you are on the journey, many things of the world will seem to fall away. 15Let them go, but do not worry about the things in the world that seem to need your attention. 16Just as I have always been with you, I am there in those things too.

17As you learn to see Me in all things, the journey will seem easier, but it is not until you arrive at the wedding banquet that the journey will fall away. 18So live within your journey in peace and with Me. 19Be happy, and rest your mind. 20I am walking beside you, pleased, as we journey to the wedding banquet together.

(v 23 - 33) 1Do not be confused by what you see in the world, for Heaven is nothing like the world at all. 2In the world, there are differences; there are conflicts; there is suffering, and there is death. 3But none of these things exist in Heaven.

4Think of the world as a dream, for it seems real while you are here. 5But think of Heaven as awakening. 6Upon reaching Heaven, you will realize that the world, and all you thought there, was never true and so it mattered not.

7I tell you, the truth is always true, and there is no truth in the world.

8Do not let your worldly concerns distract you long. 9Lay them aside that you may continue your journey and awaken to that which calls you.

(v 34 - 40) 1And so the greatest commandment shall lead you on your journey:

2Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.

3Let your love for God be your guiding light in all you do and all you think. 4Never forget your love for God, and give all things to Him. 5In this way, you will move steadily along your journey.

6And the second commandment is like it, for the second commandment guides you within the distraction of the world.

7Love your neighbor as your Self, because he is.

8There is no greater truth than this.

9Your Father, of course, is right. 10You are joined and at the wedding banquet, but the dream of the world keeps you from knowing this is true. 11Awaken from the dream by accepting the truth. 12The journey to acceptance is the journey to Heaven. 13Accept the truth, and you are there.
(v 41 – 46) 1The Holy Spirit is the Christ. 2Each one may call the Holy Spirit “Lord,” for the Holy Spirit guides you and leads you forward on your journey. 3It is your Lord that you shall follow.

4The Holy Spirit is within, and so it is within each one waiting to be heard. 5In this way, you may see the Holy Spirit in your son or daughter or husband or wife or mother or father or neighbor, and you may call them “Lord.” 6But the Lord is within you too, for there are no differences among men. 7It is all the same. 8And the call of the Lord is the call to awaken. 9Following the call is the seeming journey, but awakening to it is realizing there was no journey and there is no Lord but one.

To Whom Do I Pray?

Rev. Robert Stoelting

imageSomeone recently asked, “If God does not recognize us and our plights because we are in an illusion, how can He help us? Please do not tell me that is what the Holy Spirit is for. My angst comes from the following sentence, ‘If God were to recognize us, that would make the illusion real.’ To whom do I pray now?” The following is my response.

The Course says that God is Love and nothing else and it says that Love is one, indivisible whole. It also says that the only thing true about us is Love. We are asked to repeat as part of several lessons that “God is but Love and therefore so am I.” That means that we could never be separate individuals, separate from God, except in illusions which could never be real.

Oneness (Love) cannot conceive of separation. The two ideas are mutually exclusive. If we believe we are separate, the idea of oneness is inconceivable to us. The good news is that God not only does not recognize us as separate individuals (inconceivable to oneness) but He knows that we never really left Him. We are still eternally safe in Love. This is why the Course says God has not changed His Mind about us. He knows that we are still one with Him in Reality. That is the reason why release from the hell of belief in separation is possible. We are still fully embraced by His Love, even if we deny it by believing we are separate.

In A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 125 we are told, “Your Father wills you hear His Word today. He calls to you from deep within your mind where He abides.” 1:2-3 This does not sound like God does not know of us. In fact, He knows us unequivocally as whole and complete in Him, not the fragmented self we think we are with a separate identity. And we are assured that, “He has not hid Himself from us,” 5:2 even though we try to hide from Him by identifying with a body in a world of separation.

The lesson goes on to give instructions for a way to pray. We need but “wait in silence for the Word of God.” 3:5 to hear our Father speak. His Voice is heard in “the quiet place within the mind where He abides forever, in the holiness that He created and will never leave.” 4:3 We can take comfort in remembering that God is right in our mind and will never leave. We may deny His presence and feel the sense of loss that comes with this denial, but our denial cannot change the reality of Love’s eternal presence in our mind.

Waiting in silence is essential if we want to receive God’s Word. But this silence does not mean we need to go to a place where there are no sounds our ears can hear. We are told, “…His Word can not be heard until your mind is quiet for a while, and meaningless desires have been stilled.” 6:2 We must reach a stillness “without intrusion of our petty thoughts, without our personal desires, and without all judgment of His holy Word.” 3:1

In case we think reaching this stillness is a tall order, we can take comfort in the fact that, “There is a peace within you to be called upon today, to help make ready your most holy mind to hear the Voice for its Creator speak.” 6:4 We need only “…choose a gentle listening to the Word of God. He speaks from nearer than your heart to you. His Voice is closer than your hand. His Love is everything you are and that He is; the same as you, and you the same as He.” 7:1-3

The statement, “Please do not tell me that is what the Holy Spirit is for,” is typical of the ego thought system. The ego is afraid of the Truth because acceptance of the Truth means the end of the ego. When we believe we are in a world of separation, we are dreaming a dream that could never be true. The Course tells us that the instant we had the thought of being separate, God provided the Answer to that insane thought. The Answer is what the Course calls the Holy Spirit, the Voice for God, the Comforter, Guide, true Self. It is this Answer that guarantees that we will eventually return to full awareness that we are still safely at Home in Love.

In some places the Course seems to say that we are to pray to the Holy Spirit, or God’s Voice as it is called in Lesson 125. The Holy Spirit is called the remaining communication link to the Oneness of God. But in part two of the Workbook lessons, there are many prayers that are addressed to our Father.

The bottom line is that it does not matter what name we use as a focus of our prayer. What matters is that we are willing to be open to a new way of seeing, a new way of perceiving, that leads us back to awareness of our oneness with Love. In other words, we need to be willing to forgive, to let go of our attachment to being a separate individual and to accept that we are Love. We do not have to do this forgiving on our own. In fact we cannot, because if we think we are on our own, we are believing in the thought system of separation, which is incapable of forgiving. But our true Self, a.k.a. the Holy Spirit, does not believe in separation and still remains in our mind to gently guide us to seeing past the illusion of separate images to the reality of oneness in Love.

My Experience at the Take Me to Truth Workshop

by Laurie Immekus

imageEven though I’ve been studying A Course in Miracles since 1990, I must admit I’m still having a nebulous experience with peace. Sometimes I’m able to enter peace by doing the things that I’ve learned will and can lead to peace. Other times I’m not able to enter it, and I know that is a form of resistance. I know that resistance is my listening to the ego — fear thoughts.

I recently attended a workshop at Pathways of Light presented by Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Vieira, who wrote the book, Take Me to Truth. In this workshop they helped me with the process of realizing that I need to trust everyone, for minds are joined. Just meeting them, and even before that. Just hearing about them helped. I was helped through healing, which is of the mind. And minds are joined, so I’m not surprised that I knew so much about them without having heard from or spoken with them before.

The moment they walked in the door at Pathways they were loving and gentle. They opened their arms and embraced me as if I were an old friend even though we had never met or talked before and they didn’t know who I was. They were just open and loving and caring and giving. That’s either an endorsement for lunacy or loving, depending on your perspective.

In the world’s perspective, all this trusting is lunacy. “Trust No One! Minds are Separate!” is the world’s motto.

But Nouk and Tomas teach as the Course does. Trust everyone for you and they are One. No separation. In Oneness we learn to trust for minds are joined. So when I am practicing thinking higher thoughts, I am going to be looking for the love and light in others as much as I am able to at that time rather than looking for the errors and flaws. Minds are joined. When I am joined in miracle thinking, that is, in seeing that what is in someone else’s best interest is equally in my best interest, healing happens for all. I can trust my brother because when I am healed I am not healed alone.

Thank you Nouk and Tomas for the fine work you have done. I appreciate what you teach about embracing the holy relationship. You teach through your example, and through your thoughtful study and dedication of your lives to trust, which you shared with us in your workshop. I’m looking forward to future meetings with you. I know that no matter what you have to teach at that time, you will be trusting, and in being trusting, teaching trust. That is so healing for all of us, for when someone trusts you, you know it. For minds are joined.

If you want a workshop that is a healing experience, this is the one. Trust me.
