More on Thinking I Know

So, I do not know what this body is for. In my story I thought it was for planting bulbs and seeds, for weeding unwanted plants. I thought is was for making meals, washing dishes and clothes, for cleaning the house. I thought it was for driving the car, for walking and talking; doing as I bid. So none of this is the truth. I asked: “Holy Spirit, what is this body for, what is your purpose for it?”

This came to mind: The ego’s use for the body is to make one feel or believe in smallness, weakness, vulnerability and being wholly alone. Holy Spirit uses the body for communication, for union of minds, for correction of poor thoughts.

In His perfect sight He sees the body as a tool or means for forgiving the mind, that had a mistaken thought. In each little thought that you let go, brings you ever closer to your only truth. In every circumstance that you choose to see innocence and love, you forgive the idea of separation. That is all the body is for.

Spirit told me: Dear one, every time you let go of a false idea, you are forgiving yourself. This is how you accept Atonement for yourself; atonement is forgiveness, the undoing of what never happened. In letting go of false ideas you come to know that you are free, being from Love and of Love. You are Love Itself.

Love waits for Welcome; if you are fearful then you cannot welcome Love. You cannot know what is going to happen “next” for your perceptions are based on a past that never was. You are only as Love created you, and this you have never changed, no matter what your dreams have shown you. (Forgive them their illusions means you are forgiving your illusions.)

Thinking I Know

What I experience comes from my choice, but I am sorely mistaken in what I think is the truth or what is real. Why do I think that being guilty is “better” then being innocent? Why choose to have a madman manage my life? I can and do choose again.

It is insane to think that guilt and suffering will protect me from additional pain and punishment. There is another way, another way to think, another way to live. I step back and observe my story from a detached perspective. Being detached makes an empty space for a different perception to come to mind. I ask for this new perception from my holy Self. This is the part of me that knows the truth and would free my mind of every false and meaningless idea (thoughts).

When I step back, let go of the wheel, step off the merry-go-round, I am asking another perception to come to me. When I perceive anything other than love, kindness or joy, I have accepted a false perception in place of truth. I admit that I have been wrong because I do not like the way I feel. As I practice this stepping back, I experience relief. Stepping back I practice letting go what I think I know. For my knowing is based on a sorry story that has no foundation, no truth.

Thinking I know what anything means or what it is for is a mistake. This method of thinking is mistaken because I have made or given the meaning to everything I see before I see it “outside me.” Having made a definition of something or some event, I cannot know its real purpose or what it is for. When I detach from my story, I allow my holy Mind to show me the true purpose of anything. Everything I made up the holy Self can use for the healing, unification, communion of all minds.

Let me remember: I do not now what anything is for, or what it means. I am willing to learn. I stop, step back, and ask for another way to see this. I let peace in and extend it out to all. I choose peace first.

More About Beliefs

The ego system wants me to believe that I picked up my beliefs from the world, from my parents and others. Yet, being the writer, director, and producer of the movie called “my life” I am the only one that put those beliefs into the script and had them played out by the actors. The thoughts and ideas I “see” played out in the world are always my own. They are mistaken. And simply show the unhealed or uncorrected thoughts I hold.

I must admit that I am the holder/maker of those thoughts, so that I can give them to Spirit. He will show me they are perfectly harmless and thus meaningless. He shines them away with my holiness that has never changed. He assures me that being one with the Light I have never left the Light of Love, but have only closed and covered my eyes to It. He leads me away from illusions to my treasure house of truth. The thoughts I made on my own are really nothing and have no meaning. I am willing to let them go. I am willing to have peace replace my erroneous beliefs.

I choose inner peace as my one goal. “The peace of God is my one goal; the aim of all my living here, the end I seek, my purpose and my function and my life, while I abide where I am not at home.”  WB lesson 205

Outside Thinking

When I hold a grievance (upset) about anything, I am attacking myself. The being that I am is not contained in a body or in any form. The forms that appear in my world are only reflections of my beliefs/thoughts about myself.

Example: the idea that change in weather can hinder, hamper or threaten me is just wishful thinking. The ego thought wants to maintain control (authority) over my mind, portraying me (and anything that I value) as weak, vulnerable and easily destroyed, so I must be fearful of outside changes.

What Am I Judging?

When I judge, I am insane, for I am judging only illusions. An illusion is a false image or idea, being false it is not real. How does one judge what is not real or nothing? Thinking there is something there to evaluate is meaningless and so it is insane.

When I understand that there is no thing “out there” to judge, I have forgiven the world. I have forgiven myself. Nothing is out there because it is all in my mind. As the Course says, a mind that is powerful enough to make a world is powerful enough to let it go. The power is apparent in my choice. Do I choose illusions or do I choose for Love?

Choosing illusions is sure to dismay me, and keep me searching for the elusive treasure. Choosing for Love is the certain way in which I wake from my sleep. If I am afraid of Love, I have only made a mistake and listened to the wrong teacher. I am willing to choose again and with the Teacher for Love I am released from my dream story of pain and isolation. With the Teacher for Love I find the truth and embrace my Self.

I am holy and innocent. I am not an ego, I am limitless and free for Love created me.
