Seeing the Loving and the Lovable

Today we will again give thanks for our Identity in God. ²Our home is safe, protection guaranteed in all we do, power and strength available to us in all our undertakings. ³We can fail in nothing. ⁴Everything we touch takes on a shining light that blesses and that heals. ⁵At one with God and with the universe we go our way rejoicing, with the thought that God Himself goes everywhere with us.

…God is our Companion as we walk the world a little while. ⁵And those who come to follow us will recognize the way because the light we carry stays behind, yet still remains with us as we walk on.

²And God, Who loves us with the equal love in which we were created, smiles on us and offers us the happiness we gave.

Today we will not doubt His Love for us, nor question His protection and His care. ²No meaningless anxieties can come between our faith and our awareness of His Presence. ³We are one with Him today in recognition and rememberance. ⁴We feel Him in our hearts. ⁵Our minds contain His Thoughts; our eyes behold His loveliness in all we look upon. ⁶Today we see only the loving and the lovable. The wish for specialness breeds judgment, hate and fear. It makes an image of our self which it believes is constantly under attack. This self needs to attack to protect its vulnerable identity.

Forgiveness releases us from hate and fear. It opens our mind to receive the Love that created us one with All, eternally at peace. It lets us remember that wherever we go, God is our Companion. With His Light in our mind, we see only the loving and the lovable.

Forgiveness Lets Us See with Christ’s Vision

Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. ²It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind.

God’s plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. ²Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. ³Changelessly it stands before you like an open door, with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home, where you belong.

Here is the answer! ²Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within? ³Forgive and be forgiven. ⁴As you give you will receive. ⁵There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. ⁶Let us today rejoice that this is so, for here we have an answer, clear and plain, beyond deceit in its simplicity. ⁷All the complexities the world has spun of fragile cobwebs disappear before the power and the majesty of this extremely simple statement of the truth.

The ego is a judgment against God. It is a thought that condemns God for His ‘unwillingness’ to offer specialness to anyone. God is one Love and all His Creations remain one with Him in that Love. When we forgive the wish to be separate and unique, we open our mind to receive God’s gift of all of Himself.

When we forgive, the veil of condemnation is lifted. Love’s Light reveals the Love that is the truth in everyone. The forgiving eyes of Christ see only our unity that holds us forever in the Heaven of God’d Love.

Listening to Our Father’s Voice

Be not afraid today to circumvent the voices of the world. ²Walk lightly past their meaningless persuasion. ³Hear them not. ⁴Be still today and listen to the truth. ⁵Go past all things which do not speak of Him Who holds your happiness within His Hand, held out to you in welcome and in love. ⁶Hear only Him today, and do not wait to reach Him longer. ⁷Hear one Voice today.

Today the promise of God’s Word is kept. ²Hear and be silent. ³He would speak to you. ⁴He comes with miracles a thousand times as happy and as wonderful as those you ever dreamed or wished for in your dreams. ⁵His miracles are true. ⁶They will not fade when dreaming ends. ⁷They end the dream instead; and last forever, for they come from God to His dear Son, whose other name is you. Peace cannot be found by listening to the voices of the world, which speak for the denial of the Source of peace. But there is a Voice in everyone that speaks the Word of God. It speaks of peace and happiness beyond compare in this world.

This Voice can be heard by pausing to be still and listen to the truth. It speaks of God’s promise that we are held forever safe in His Love. As we accept Its message, we become God’s messengers by offering peace and Love to the world.

Remembering Our Unity in Christ

The Christ in you inhabits not a body. ²Yet He is in you. ³And thus it must be that you are not within a body. ⁴What is within you cannot be outside. ⁵And it is certain that you cannot be apart from what is at the very center of your life. ⁶What gives you life cannot be housed in death. ⁷No more can you. ⁸Christ is within a frame of Holiness whose only purpose is that He may be made manifest to those who know Him not, that He may call to them to come to Him and see Him where they thought their bodies were. ⁹Then will their bodies melt away, that they may frame His Holiness in them.

No one who carries Christ in him can fail to recognize Him everywhere. ²Except in bodies. ³And as long as he believes he is in a body, where he thinks he is [Christ] cannot be. ⁴And so he carries Him unknowingly, and does not make Him manifest.”

“The body needs no healing. ²But the mind that thinks it is a body is sick indeed! ³And it is here [in the mind] that Christ sets forth the remedy. ⁴His purpose folds the body in His light, and fills it with the Holiness that shines from Him. ⁵And nothing that the body says or does but makes [Christ] manifest. ⁶To those who know Him not it carries [Christ] in gentleness and love, to heal their minds. ⁷Such is the mission that your brother has for you. ⁸And such it must be that your mission is for him. (T-25.in.1:1–2:4;3)

Christ is our true Self which remains eternally one with our Creator. He is What gives us life. Bodies are the ego’s protective shield that hides Christ’s presence from our awareness. While we believe we are a body, we are identifying with the ego as our identity. The Christ within is unknown.

Our only meaningful purpose in the world of bodies is to let go of our misidentification with the body. Our mission is to let the Light of Christ show us the Christ beyond the body of everyone. The Christ within will embrace each one with gentleness and love. And we will remember our unity in the one Self that is God’s Son.

Accepting God’s Gift of Love

What do you want? ²Light or darkness, knowledge or ignorance are yours, but not both. ³Opposites must be brought together, not kept apart. ⁴For their separation is only in your mind, and they are reconciled by union, as you are. ⁵In union, everything that is not real must disappear, for truth is union. ⁶As darkness disappears in light, so ignorance fades away when knowledge dawns.

The Holy Spirit asks of you but this; bring to Him every secret you have locked away from Him. ²Open every door to Him, and bid Him enter the darkness and lighten it away. ³At your request He enters gladly. ⁴He brings the light to darkness if you make the darkness open to Him.

⁷The single vision which the Holy Spirit offers you will bring this oneness to your mind with clarity and brightness so intense you could not wish, for all the world, not to accept what God would have you have. (A Course in Miracles, T-14.VII.1:1-6;6:1-4;7:7. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

A child is afraid of the dark because of what he imagines is hiding there that he cannot see. The images in the dream of separation are hidden in the dark where the Light of Love is denied. We cannot see what we believe is not there.

The Holy Spirit is in our mind offering us the Light that will dispel the imagined images that make us fearful and defensive. We do not need to defend against the darkness. He needs only our willingness to open the door to welcome the Love that reveals the real world, where there is nothing but the peace and joy of Love. Today we bring our dark perceptions of differences to Him with willingness to accept His Gift of Love.

Accepting Love’s Eternal Flow

²God does not forgive because He has never condemned. ³The blameless cannot blame, and those who have accepted their innocence see nothing to forgive. ⁴Yet forgiveness is the means by which I will recognize my innocence. ⁵It is the reflection of God’s Love on earth. ⁶It will bring me near enough to Heaven that the Love of God can reach down to me and raise me up to Him.

²It is not my own strength through which I forgive. ³It is through the strength of God in me, which I am remembering as I forgive. ⁴As I begin to see, I recognize His reflection on earth. ⁵I forgive all things because I feel the stirring of His strength in me. ⁶And I begin to remember the Love I chose to forget, but which has not forgotten me.

²How safe the world will look to me when I can see it! ³It will not look anything like what I imagine I see now. ⁴Everyone and everything I see will lean toward me to bless me. ⁵I will recognize in everyone my dearest Friend. ⁶What could there be to fear in a world that I have forgiven, and that has forgiven me? Forgiveness expresses the willingness to accept God’s Love while in the dream of separation. It opens the door to let the Light of Love stream into our consciousness. In its Light we recognize our brothers as part of our one Self, united in the strength of our Creator.

In this Light we are certain of our safety. We are grateful for Love’s unlimited blessing. No longer do we judge. Instead we embrace our brothers in recognition of the love we give and receive in Love’s eternal flow.

Accepting the One Identity We Share with All

God’s Name can not be heard without response, nor said without an echo in the mind that calls you to remember. ²Say His Name, and you invite the angels to surround the ground on which you stand, and sing to you as they spread out their wings to keep you safe, and shelter you from every worldly thought that would intrude upon your holiness.

Repeat God’s Name, and all the world responds by laying down illusions. ²Every dream the world holds dear has suddenly gone by, and where it seemed to stand you find a star; a miracle of grace.

Repeat God’s Name, and you acknowledge Him as sole Creator of reality. ²And you acknowledge also that His Son is part of Him, creating in His Name. ³Sit silently, and let His Name become the all-encompassing idea that holds your mind completely. ⁴Let all thoughts be still except this one. ⁵And to all other thoughts respond with this, and see God’s Name replace the thousand little names you gave your thoughts, not realizing that there is one Name for all there is, and all that there will be. In the dream of separation, we use names to identify the myriad images of differences the ego contrives. By naming them, we assign them meaning. Yet differences are illusions, which have no real meaning of their own.

By repeating God’s Name, we are accepting the meaning of the One Identity Which has reality — the oneness of Love. It is the only Identity we share with our Father and all of His one Son. This is the true Self we share with every brother. As we repeat God’s Name, all the names that seemed to make separation real fade away. And we acknowledge the one Identity we share with all.
