Accepting Our Identity as God Created It

Why would you not be overjoyed to be assured that all the evil that you think you did was never done, that all your sins are nothing, that you are as pure and holy as you were created, and that light and joy and peace abide in you? ²Your image of yourself cannot withstand the Will of God. ³You think that this is death, but it is life. ⁴You think you are destroyed, but you are saved.

The self you made is not the Son of God. ²Therefore, this self does not exist at all. ³And anything it seems to do and think means nothing. ⁴It is neither bad nor good. ⁵It is unreal, and nothing more than that.

Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. ²Over and over this must be repeated, until it is accepted. ³It is true. ⁴Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. ⁵Nothing can touch it, or change what God created as eternal. ⁶The self you made, evil and full of sin, is meaningless. ⁷Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God, and light and joy and peace abide in you.

²Should you be tempted to become angry with someone, tell him silently:

³Light and joy and peace abide in you.
⁴Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. (A Course in Miracles, W-93.4:1–5:5;6;11:2-4. See also ACIM Lesson 93 Insights.)

We cannot see the Light of Love in others because we are denying the Light of Love that is our true Self. Our mistaken identification with the body, which God did not create, blinds us from being able to see any of God’s Creation.

It is time to forgive ourselves for accepting a false identity. Our true Identity is light, joy and peace; It is Love and nothing else. As we accept our sinlessness, which is God’s Creation, we will see the sinlessness that is the truth in everyone.

Letting Christ’s Vision into Our Mind

Christ’s Second Coming, which is sure as God, is merely the correction of mistakes, and the return of sanity. ²It is a part of the condition that restores the never lost, and re-establishes what is forever and forever true. ³It is the invitation to God’s Word to take illusion’s place; the willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.

It is the all-inclusive nature of Christ’s Second Coming that permits it to embrace the world and hold you safe within its gentle advent, which encompasses all living things with you. ²There is no end to the release the Second Coming brings, as God’s creation must be limitless. ³Forgiveness lights the Second Coming’s way, because it shines on everything as one. ⁴And thus is oneness recognized at last.” (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.9.1:1–2:4)

We need to forgive all our perceptions, with no reservations. In the oneness of God’s Love, there are no differences to judge between. Forgiveness lets our mind see past the false images the deceive us. It lets Christ’s vision see the Light of Love every where.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to heal our fear-based thoughts. We want to remember our safety in the loving Arms of our Creator.

How to Receive God’s Love

It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see, as it is His Mind with which you think. ²His strength denies your weakness. ³It is your weakness that sees through the body’s eyes, peering about in darkness to behold the likeness of itself….

Strength overlooks these things by seeing past appearances. ²It keeps its steady gaze upon the light that lies beyond them. ³It unites with light, of which it is a part. ⁴It sees itself.

³Truth is a savior and can only will for happiness and peace for everyone. ⁴It gives its strength to everyone who asks, in limitless supply. ⁵It sees that lack in anyone would be a lack in all. ⁶And so it gives its light that all may see and benefit as one. ⁷Its strength is shared, that it may bring to all the miracle in which they will unite in purpose and forgiveness and in love.

The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself. (A Course in Miracles, W-92.3:1-3;4:1-4;5:3-7;8:1. See also ACIM Lesson 92 Insights.)

Our strength is in the Love that unites us with our Creator and all of Creation. Only His Love is real. Love sees only Itself; nothing else exists in truth.

Forgiveness clears our mind to accept the Love that is our true Self, God’s Son. Forgiveness dispels the dark shadows of fear and guilt, revealing the Light of Love which illuminates God’s Universe of Love.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see with the forgiving eyes of Christ. This is how we open our hearts to receive our Father’s gift of all of His Love.

Undoing Our Identification with a Body

What you think you are is a belief to be undone. ⁸But what you really are must be revealed to you. ⁹The belief you are a body calls for correction, being a mistake. ¹⁰The truth of what you are calls on the strength in you to bring to your awareness what the mistake conceals.

²You need to be aware of what the Holy Spirit uses to replace the image of a body in your mind. ³You need to feel something to put your faith in, as you lift it from the body. ⁴You need a real experience of something else, something more solid and more sure; more worthy of your faith, and really there.

…[allow] your mistaken thoughts about your attributes to be corrected, and their opposites to take their place. ³Say, for example:

⁴I am not weak, but strong.
⁵I am not helpless, but all powerful.
⁶I am not limited, but unlimited. (W-91.6:7-10;7:2-4;8:2-6)

We need to let go of our belief that we are a body. This misidentification is the basis for all our misperceptions. Founded on the wish for specialness, the body constantly feeds us misinformation about reality.

There can be no differences in the oneness of God’s Love, which is all that is real. But perceptions of the body only show us images of differences. It is time to focus on the attributes of our true Self, which share all of God’s attributes. This Self shares our Father’s strength, power, Love and holiness. It is our eternal Identity.

The Blessing of True Perception

Now let a new perception come to me.

Father, there is a vision which beholds all things as sinless, so that fear has gone, and where it was is love invited in. ²And love will come wherever it is asked. ³This vision is Your gift. ⁴The eyes of Christ look on a world forgiven. ⁵In His sight are all its sins forgiven, for He sees no sin in anything He looks upon. ⁶Now let His true perception come to me, that I may waken from the dream of sin and look within upon my sinlessness, which You have kept completely undefiled upon the altar to Your holy Son, the Self with which I would identify.

Let us today behold each other in the sight of Christ. ²How beautiful we are! ³How holy and how loving! ⁴Brother, come and join with me today. ⁵We save the world when we have joined. ⁶For in our vision it becomes as holy as the light in us. Our true Self is Love and nothing else. Love is all of Reality. Love sees only Love everywhere. Only in dreams does change, harm or loss of our peace seem possible.

If we have any perception that disturbs our peace, we are believing in a dream that denies the changelessness of God’s Love. Forgiveness awakens us from these dreams by restoring true perception. Now we see with the eyes of Christ, which see only the Light of Love in every brother.

Letting Love Be Our Future

I seek a future different from the past.

From new perception of the world there comes a future very different from the past. ²The future now is recognized as but extension of the present. ³Past mistakes can cast no shadows on it, so that fear has lost its idols and its images, and being formless, it has no effects. ⁴Death will not claim the future now, for life is now its goal, and all the needed means are happily provided. ⁵Who can grieve or suffer when the present has been freed, extending its security and peace into a quiet future filled with joy?

Father, we were mistaken in the past, and choose to use the present to be free. ²Now do we leave the future in Your Hands, leaving behind our past mistakes, and sure that You will keep Your present promises, and guide the future in their holy light. The ego uses illusions of the past as a veil to cover the presence of Love that is always with us now. Forgiveness frees our minds from illusions of lack, loss, harm and death. Without these illusions, we are free to let Love extend without limit. We have returned our future to the Hands of Love.

Accepting God’s Gift of His Peace

There is a peace that Christ bestows on us.

Who uses but Christ’s vision finds a peace so deep and quiet, undisturbable and wholly changeless, that the world contains no counterpart. ²Comparisons are still before this peace. ³And all the world departs in silence as this peace envelops it, and gently carries it to truth, no more to be the home of fear. ⁴For love has come, and healed the world by giving it Christ’s peace.

Father, the peace of Christ is given us, because it is Your Will that we be saved. ²Help us today but to accept Your gift, and judge it not. ³For it has come to us to save us from our judgment on ourselves. (A Course in Miracles, W-305. See also ACIM Lesson 305 Insights.)

Our judgments of our perceptions in the world are judgments of ourselves. This is because our perceptions are founded on what we believe we are. When we want specialness, we identify with a body and believe separation and differences are real.

But God’s gift to us as His Son is that we remain one with Him and all His Love. Christ’s vision shows us the deep peace that surrounds us and protects us from all illusions of harm and loss. This vision is seen through forgiving eyes. As judgment is let go, peace envelopes us in Love’s kindly Light.
