Let Your Mind Be Still

Holy Spirit through Mary:  Allow a stillness. Let your mind still. Let everything be quiet. That is how you find Me. If your mind is full, there is no room for hearing Me. When your mind gets congested, a clearing out is needed. Just leave a little opening—a little willingness—and I will clear your mind of all meaningless thoughts. The Light I bring shines them all away. The Light I bring through your willingness brings you peace.

Once your mind is in a place of peace, I can bring you insight that is helpful to you in the moment. Let Me be in charge. You allow Me to be in charge by your willingness to let Me in to shine away all that is really meaningless. I will bring to your awareness what is important to remember and shine away what is not important. Let this be your job, to let me in, and I will take care of the rest. Your job is to follow, not lead. There is no will but God’s. I will bring you the awareness of God’s Will as you allow it by letting Me in through quiet listening.

Holy Spirit through Robert:  The practice of maintaining awareness of My presence in your mind will lead you to full identification with your Self. It will lead you to Heaven where your Self is eternally. The appearance of a world with separate images is a self-made deception with the purpose of maintaining belief in separation. I am in your mind to remind you that this separation could never be true.

So with each seeming distraction and disturbance, simply bring that appearance to Me for My interpretation. You do this by first recognizing that you do not know what the appearance means. Then bring it to Me and I will show you its real meaning and I will show you what is meaningless. This moment by moment practice leads to complete freedom from the bonds of belief in being alone and separate.

You have hidden from your awareness your belief in lack, loss and limitation but it is portrayed to you in the world your body’s eyes show you. Thus the practice of bringing all appearances to Me for My interpretation is the practice that leads to undoing of your mistaken belief. Your practice makes every perception, every appearance an opportunity for release and healing. As you do this, the healing will generalize and you will experience progressively less projections of disturbance, distraction and disappointment. You will experience more and more of your safety in the strength of Love that you are. You will experience more and more happiness and peace. Let yourself be happy. It is God’s Will for you.

Seeing Myself as One with My Brother

Robert:  Jean’s posting about “Who’s on first” brings to my attention the potential traps the ego can bring in to interfere with our practice of the Course. What it brings up for me is how important it is for me to see myself as one with my brother. The Course tells us, “To teach is to demonstrate.” It is not words that teach. It’s the demonstration that comes with living as guided by Spirit that truly teaches healing. The ego teaches also by demonstration. Since the ego is the thought of separation, it will always demonstrate in one form or another that separation is real.

If I want to be a teacher of God, I need to practice in every moment being in peace so that my mind and heart is open to the guidance of Holy Spirit. Of myself I do not know how to teach or demonstrate healing. Thinking I am of myself is already an error and so from that thought I could only demonstrate further error. But in peace I join with the Holy Spirit and then I can be an expression of the truth of my true Self. That is how I demonstrate and teach the Holy Spirit’s message.

To me that is why it is not for me to correct my brother. I must keep my attention focused on my alignment with the Truth in me and by living the truth I will demonstrate the wholeness of Love. That demonstration may inspire a brother who believes he is separate to ask for help. Then, while keeping my connection open with Holy Spirit, I may offer help. The key element here is following Holy Spirit’s lead and not thinking I know anything on my own. If I am to be an instrument for correction, it must be the Holy Spirit through me that does the correcting.

Today I dedicate again to practicing staying in peace and following Holy Spirit’s lead in all my doing. I would not lead but only follow. In gratitude I receive Love’s blessing.

Mary:  This morning when I woke up, everything that was in the kitchen is in the living room and it is still a challenge to find things for making breakfast. There is so much to do, both with printing and mailing the Miracles News magazine and replenishing the depleted supply of courses on the shelf. I ask Holy Spirit for how to do this. The answer I receive is to take one little baby step at a time. Also the words “infinite patience” come into my mind. I see that if I do what is before me this very minute and not be concerned about the future, that everything will come together. My job is not to judge the timing or how each thing is to be accomplished. My job is to step back, listen and follow as I am led.

I am not a separate individual. I am not a body. I am eternal Spirit. I am the eternal Spirit of Love and that includes everyone. We are the same eternal Spirit and nothing can change that. There is no will but God’s. So I can relax now and enjoy the Truth that all is whole and perfectly complete right now. All our needs are met right now. There is nothing that I need that has not already been given me. My job is to accept the Truth. That is all.

Today, as I go about learning my lesson that the day presents, my job is to keep an open mind and not judge what anything means on my own. My job is to be willing to remember God’s Will for me. My job is to allow my mind to be healed today.

Every Experience Is for Healing

Robert & Mary:  We thought we would catch you up on our journey of getting this facility ready for sale. Yesterday and today the tiling in the kitchen is being done. Ted, the tile guy, needed more supplies from Home Depot so we went early and looked for the grout he needed.

It just happened that someone had vomited on that isle right near where the grout was. When we asked for help, the associate for that department wouldn’t go near that area because she was afraid of germs. After a while a man from the store came and cleaned the floor. She then came over and apologized for not helping us sooner. She explained that she had a phobia about germs and was very upset about the whole situation. After we picked out the grout with the associates help, we found there wasn’t enough so we went over to the computer to see if another store near by had a supply. The Fond du Lac store had just what we needed.

Before we left I could see that she still felt uncomfortable that she had not helped us right away so I found myself telling her that I would like to give her a hug. While we hugged I found myself telling her that she was a child of God and that she was safe in God. I told her that everything was going to be all right. She told me that this made her day and thanked me several times. I normally do not go around telling people I meet in stores that they are safe in God, but this time I did it without thinking. Spirit works in ways we don’t always understand at the time.

When we got back to Pathways with the grout, the tile guy told us we got the wrong kind. So we called the Fond du Lac store and they had plenty of the right kind so off we went. This time we met a wonderful associate named Rocky who helped us find everything on our list and more. He was very knowledgeable and explained carefully how to do what we needed to do. He stayed with us through many departments and helped us find solutions for what we needed in many areas. He even helped us at the check out service desk because we were leaving some items for later pick up, then helped us load our car with the things we were taking with us.

We told him we were really impressed with his service and he said it was a pleasure working with people who were receptive. The shopping experiences of the day were carefully guided by Spirit with love bringing joyful effects that blessed us and others. It was an experience of mutual giving.

This morning, we were led to read The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament, scribed by Regina Dawn Akers. In NTI Matthew, Chapter 6, is said, “If you are to walk the path righteousness, all things must be done for the reason of the Heart. To do anything for a purpose other than the purpose of the Heart, regardless of how righteous the act may seem to be, is to stray from your path. You could become lost there. Listen. Let the Heart that whispers truth lead you in all things. Ask of it, and do as it guides. Let not actions blind you. It is not the action that matters, but the purpose that is given it.” (v 1-4)

In the world it looked like the purpose was to get supplies for tiling renovation. As we joined with the Holy Spirit, the purpose was to extend love in every moment. When we hold this focus, what needs to happen in form unfolds naturally.

This week new counters were installed in the kitchen and bathroom. A plumber installed new fixtures in both bathrooms and the kitchen. The carpenters installed a door and prepared areas in the kitchen for the tiling. We had a chance to join with all these men and they touched our hearts. We feel blessed by the help that has come to us.

Out of all of this we are learning that even if something seems to go “wrong” it is in perfect order. We are learning to trust that every situation holds an opportunity to be truly helpful as we step back and let the Holy Spirit guide us through every seeming difficulty. This seems like quite a big project. But our lesson is that we cannot possibly know the full scope of all that is affected by what is happening. We do know that we need to stay in the present moment and practice following Holy Spirit’s lead moment by moment.

Let Your Mind Be Filled with the Peace of God

Holy Spirit through Mary: Now is the time to trust that everything is working in perfect order. Now is the time to practice giving everything to Me. If the drawers don’t fit with the new kitchen counter, hand it over to Me and choose peace. This is lab time. This is practice in staying in the present moment and letting Me guide you through each step of the way.

If something doesn’t appear to be going smoothly according to your perspective, hand it over to Me. Choose peace instead of worry. Use that time to open your mind and be willing for your mind to be filled with the peace of God. From that place of peace, you will receive guidance that is helpful for all concerned.

Right now it seems like there are too many things to do with not enough time to do them. The kitchen and bathroom have been emptied out and it seems difficult to find anything. This is good practice in choosing peace first. This is good practice in remembering what matters and what doesn’t really matter. This is good practice in opening to the infinite patience of the Holy Spirit. This is good practice in not deciding what anything means on your own. This is good practice in keeping your mind open to Holy Spirit’s guidance.

So see all this as a perfect opportunity to practice following Holy Spirit’s lead and remembering to open to the power of peace. All this is an illusion. There is no world. Let the Holy Spirit guide moment by moment and you will be led to be of service in a way that is helpful for everyone.

Holy Spirit through Robert:  The practice of pausing for peace is the practice of exchanging your thoughts of limitation and separation for the Holy Spirit’s thoughts of limitlessness and unity. It gently disconnects you from your mistaken identification with the ego thought system and opens your mind to strengthen your identification with your Self, the one Self you share with all. This seemingly simple practice provides the means for you to awaken and be free in Heaven. This practice is mighty, for it has the singular goal of returning you to Heaven. Practice pausing for peace today and learn of the strength of God in you.

Love Is Always There

Robert:  Yesterday I had the opportunity to officiate a memorial service for a dear friend, Richard Degnitz. He made his transition at age 96. Since we came to Pathways 20 years ago, he and his wife Minnie have been wonderful supportive friends. At times when our trust was a little shaky, they encouraged us with their trust, their confidence that we were begin guided by Spirit.

On a feeling level, my experience during the service was tremendously uplifting. I felt a flow of Love through me that reached out to embrace everyone there. Not surprisingly, there were family members who cried at various times. Yet rather than feeling sad with them, I just felt Love flowing through me and embracing them.

So the whole experience for me was a great blessing. The Love that flowed through me blessed me as well. It was a wonderful demonstration to me that no matter what the circumstance appears to be, Love is always there and always answers. It does not matter whether those present were seemingly lost in sadness or felt the Love. The Love was given and received. If they were unable to feel it in the moment, the Love is held for them and they will feel It when they feel safe enough to accept it.

Love is never lost, never diminished, never interrupted because Love is eternal. It is not my job to make anyone feel Love. It is only my job to be a channel of Love. By so doing I learn of the Love that I am. I learn of the Love that God is. I learn of Heaven, my Home.

Mary: Yesterday the Holy Spirit reminded me that we are all wearing virtual reality suits and that nothing we see through the body’s eyes (virtual reality suits) is real. The body was made for the purpose of making separation appear to have really happened.

So yesterday as I was at the memorial service, I was remembering that everything that I was seeing through the body’s eyes is unreal. I was reminded that only Love’s formless oneness is real. This helped me take the dream lightly. It helped me remember to see past the dream to the Love that is the truth about everyone. I am grateful to the Holy Spirit for reminding me that only the truth of Love’s oneness is true, and nothing else is true.

My job now is to allow the Holy Spirit, Which is the true Self of everyone, to gently remind me of the truth when I forget. My job now is to take everything I perceive and let the Holy Spirit reinterpret it for me. I take this practice to my day today and allow the Holy Spirit to gently undo my belief in the dream of separation. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
