Come with Empty Hands and an Open Mind

Mary:  The sentence that stood out to me in this morning’s reading in A Course in Miracles is, “Heaven itself is reached with empty hands and open minds, which come with nothing to find everything and claim it as their own.”

This gently reminds me to come to the Holy Spirit with empty hands and an open mind. If my mind is full of thoughts about what I think “should” happen and when, I am not making room to find “everything and claim it as my own.” This reminds me that I do not have to figure things out on my own. That is Holy Spirit’s job. It is Holy Spirit’s job to give and my job to receive. This is another way of saying, “Let go and let God.”

About 4:30 this morning, I woke up and was thinking about how the timing could go to get all the projects we are working on done. I went to Holy Spirit and was gently given the suggestion to read the titles of the first 50 ACIM Lessons in the Table of Contents of the Workbook. In the past, reading these has really helped me clear my mind of worldly thoughts and open my mind to God. I am reminded that this would help me now. Having a clear and open mind is a very important prerequisite to receiving Holy Spirit’s guidance. I make room for the Holy Spirit when I am willing to lay down all worldly thoughts.

When I do this now, the Holy Spirit tells me, “Relax. Everything is all right. There is nothing to fear. Each project will be completed in perfect order. You have everything that you need. You are safe in the mind of God. Allowing this remembrance is where all true power lies.”

Holy Spirit to Robert:  We are inseparable because I am your Self. If you do not experience Me as What you are, it is because you are believing in a false image of yourself. Because of this belief, it can be helpful to imagine that you hold My Hand as we walk together. This image serves as a bridge between your image of yourself as alone and the reality that we are the same. With practice, the seeming distinction between you and Me will fade. I will seem to be less and less a Companion and more and more What you know yourself to be.

When you have let go of all belief that you are in any way separated from Me, you will know we are joined in Heaven as we have always been. I will cease to seem to be distinct from you. You will cease to seem to be distinct from God. You will know the boundless joy of Love that you are. Your heart will sing in gratitude to the Source of Love as you extend Love eternally.

All this is yours. You will know it when you have forgiven the false image you have made of yourself. For now, it seems as though we journey together. It is a journey without distance to the Home you never left in truth.

The Joy of Now

Holy Spirit to Mary:  Watch your opinions about the world rise up in your mind, but do not keep them. Hand them over to Me. Your opinions are but reflections of thoughts you brought from the past. Be willing to let them all go. Remember, on your own, you know nothing.

Watch the opinions arise, but practice not believing in them. The world of separation is not true. It is only an opportunity to forgive or let go of the belief you have placed in it. As you consistently practice this, peace will replace your belief in differences. The joy of eternity will replace your belief in time. In order for you to experience this, you must watch these thoughts as they come up and hand them over. You need not carry them with you any longer. Herein lies your freedom. Herein lies you peace. Herein lies your joy.

Holy Spirit to Dorie:  Fear not! There is no attack, no matter how fearful, that can ever harm you or your brother. Remember this: Only Love is real. Provision is already made for the Sonship. There is no lack. There is no cause for fear. Fear may seem real, but it is only failure to see the truth in the moment. Rejoice! You are only Love. It is all you ever can be.

Holy Spirit to Robert:  Hold My Hand and walk with Me. I am ever present in your mind. I do not need you to hold My hand, for I know we are one. But it is helpful for you to see yourself as holding My hand as a symbol of our unity. Walk with Me. Together we walk a path of peace in joy. Together we walk safely in Love. Together we are the Light of Love’s Creation.

Hold your heart open to the Light of Love in all your doing. Let the Light of Love guide you in each moment. This Light will shine away the ego’s complications and sense of limitation. In the Light of Love, time recedes into the past and now becomes your reality. Hold My hand and we will experience Now together. Alone this experience is impossible, but together we bring the whole Sonship with us into Heaven.

Have a Happy Day

Holy Spirit to Robert: Do you want to have a happy day? Then let Me take the lead. My goal for you I share with God and it is your perfect happiness. Give up your private plans; your wishes to have things the way you want them. On your own you have no idea what will make you happy or bring you pain. Your “database” for decision making is incomplete and leads inevitably to flawed decisions. My database is All That is.

What I bring to you not only assures you happiness, but also gives the same gift to all your brothers. Would you not want to share this gift? Of course you would, because there is no greater joy than this! The more you practice turning over all your choices to Me, the greater will be your joy; the greater will be your peace.

Mary:  I am seeing the value of just letting go of the thoughts that come into my mind. I don’t have to fight them. I don’t have to judge them. What is most helpful is just simply to step back and give them over to the Holy Spirit — just let them go because I see that they mean nothing and are nothing. They have no value to me. They are merely not important. This empty space makes room for what is important. This is true simplicity. This is the true meaning of “I need do nothing” that the Course speaks of. As I simply practice letting go, what is really there will show up. Peace comes to a quiet and open mind.

Holy Spirit to Dorie:  Keep it simple. See only Love. Walk in Love. Be the Love. You will find the Love in the peace of silence.

There Is Only Oneness

Holy Spirit to Mary:  There is only Oneness. There is only Love. Let yourself soak in this remembering as you go through your day. There is only oneness in God’s Love. What is real is God’s Love. Anything else is not real. Let yourself soak in that remembering today. Let it bring you peace.

Today take any thought that does not reflect God’s Love to your inner Teacher for it to be undone. Let the Light of Love shine all thoughts of being separate and alone, weak and vulnerable, sick and tired. Let the Holy Spirit shine all these false ideas away.

You are only Love, because Love is all there is. Rest in Love today. Feel Love’s innate peace and happiness and extend it to every brother.

Dorie: God is but Love and therefore so am I. I would be set apart for no other purpose. Love is all there is. It matters not what I am doing. It matters not where I am. All that matters is the knowledge that I am Your Love.

Self to Annie:  When you look at your thoughts with Holy Spirit, all thoughts that aren’t true or loving will fall away. Only Love will remain in your mind because only loving thoughts belong there. Consecrate your mind to Holy Spirit today and the remembrance of Love will softly return to your mind.

Holy Spirit to Sharyn: Be you so blessed as you remember your oneness with Me. Remembering the truth that you are Love and so is everyone else is probably the most important thing for you to do. Things that you think are important sometimes mean nothing. What is important is that you see your brothers as one with you. Just as you took Jesus off the pedestal and he became one with you, this must be done with all your brothers and sisters.

You are not better than anyone and no one else is better than you. There is only one you. There is only one Mind, which is the Mind of God. It is all the same, one Mind of God. There are no differences. Seeing yourselves as one with every brother and sister will change your minds forever. There will be no going back to separation. Oneness will prevail.

Robert:  In many places in the Course we are invited to take our brother’s hand. This gesture is a symbol of our acceptance of our brother as one with us. It is only through this acceptance of oneness that we will experience the Home we never truly left. As we are able to release the past and open our hearts to the joyous and loving present we move toward the full experience of being the Love of God.

All Your Needs Are Met

Holy Spirit to Robert: All your needs are met. Do not judge the means with which they are met. Do not judge the form in which they are met. Do not judge the time in which they are met. Just be willing to receive.

It is your unwillingness to receive that got you into this world, this dream of loss and lack. It is the unwillingness to receive that needs to be forgiven and released. Every moment is a lesson. It is your choice what the lesson becomes to you. You choose between a lesson in pain and loss or a lesson in healing and release. Be willing today to accept God’s limitless, eternal gift. In your acceptance comes the peace of God.

Holy Spirit to Mary:  You accept the peace of God through the practice of consistently stepping back and relaxing your hold on the world. You accept the God’s Gift by relaxing and letting go of the worldly thoughts that circle in your mind. You accept God’s Gift by giving the time to let go and let God. Consistently practice this today. God’s Gifts are yours. This is how you receive your inheritance. This is how you remember What you are and Where you are. This is Where your eternal happiness lies.

Self to Annie:  Give yourself the gift of freedom by choosing to see innocence instead of guilt. This is the same as choosing Love instead of fear. You can do this by activating your power of choosing. You can start right now.

Holy Spirit to Sharyn:  True abundance is giving and receiving and realizing they are one and the same. Sometimes, when one is a big giver, they do not know how to receive. They don’t feel worthy. They don’t know how to accept. It is important to remember you deserve all of God’s Gifts. In order to have them, you must receive them. Be open to receive.

When you give, you are giving to the whole, which includes yourself. When you receive, you are receiving for the whole, which helps heal others also. As you allow yourself to receive from others, you are also giving them the gift of giving. They get to feel how happy it is to give. You will be happy to receive, knowing it is not just for yourself, but for all. Loving yourself wholly is learning to receive and give in equal proportion. Blessed are they that learn that lesson.

Joyous Laughter

Mary:  In my awakening process, I really need to look closely at where I am making the error real, where I am still making the world real. I still get caught up in the story as if it were real. I still take it too seriously at times.

The section we read today in A Course in Miracles reminded me once again that my job is to forgive, or let illusions go. As Love’s extension, I have everything that is real because I am one with All that is real. The Course tells me that having and being are the same. My opportunity today is to, once more, not decide what anything means on my own. My job is not to make decisions on my own. Today, my job is to consistently step back and listen. My job is to consistently accept the peace that is my inheritance.

From this place of peace, I will be told exactly what to do, where and when. From this place of peace, I will be reminded that everything I see through the body’s eyes is but an illusion. I will be reminded very gently not to take it so seriously. I will be reminded once again that the truth of oneness is true and that separation — separate bodies — could never be real in truth. It is only as I am willing to soften and step back from an illusion of a separate world that seems to be outside me that I will be brought to truth.

Today I have a choice. I have another opportunity to practice allowing the Holy Spirit alone to guide my thoughts. In truth I am not a separate person. In truth I am eternal Spirit, one with all Love. It is my opportunity to remember this.

Holy Spirit to Dorie: Let a well of joyous laughter spring from deep within your Spirit. Know that as a Child of God, all is already provided. There is no lack. My Creation never suffers lack, but only eternal Love, eternal Spirit, eternal growth. Spring forth with joy, my eternal Child of God.

Holy Spirit to Robert: Joy comes with joining in Love. This is joyous because it is the experience of reuniting with your Self. It is your Homecoming. Every circumstance, every relationship offers you the joy of Homecoming. The way to receive the joy is to accept your oneness in Love.

Judgments stand between you and the experience of the joy that is eternally yours. The joy does not go away. It is simply not experienced, because you believe you have separated yourself from it, when you believe that judgment is possible. Turn over all your thoughts of judgment to Me and I will help you lay them aside, so you can accept your inheritance and discover that you are still at Home in Heaven.

I Choose to Be Love’s Messenger

Robert:  Do I want to be a messenger of ego, or Love? That is my choice in every moment. If I judge, see guilt, see pain and suffering as real, I am ego’s messenger. When I look past appearances to see the reality of Love everywhere, I am Love’s messenger. I only choose to be ego’s messenger when I am still holding beliefs in the reality of separation in some way. This is a call for forgiveness. It is a call to offer this belief and these thoughts to the Holy Spirit and to hold my mind open to His loving correction.

Whenever I am carrying ego’s messages, I am not at peace. Thus lack of peace is my signal to turn to Spirit. I am grateful that I am becoming less and less tolerant of disturbances to my peace. I offer the disturbances more quickly to the Holy Spirit and thus I am experiencing increasingly deeper levels of peace. I thank God for the gift of His voice in my mind that is ever present to gladly receive my offerings of mistaken beliefs and is ever ready to give me God’s peace in exchange.

Today I will continue the practice of offering each unpeaceful thought to the Holy Spirit and accepting God’s Love in exchange.

Mary:  Today my job is to stay in the present moment. I need practice in this, because my mind often jumps to the future and wonders how things are going to work out. I need to be vigilant about this and, when I see that futurizing is going on in my mind, to simply stop and return again to opening my mind to the Holy Spirit.

When I remember to do this, I experience a gentle softening about the future. I remember that everything is all right right now and everything will be all right in the next now moment. It reminds me to place the future in the Hands of God. It reminds me to let go and let God. It reminds me that I do not know my own best interest, but the Holy Spirit does. It reminds me to take my hands off the reins and hand them over to the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit knows what would be in the best interest for everyone concerned. My job is to step back, relax and be receptive to Holy Spirit’s peace. In that place of peace, I do remember that I will know everything I need to know, whenever I need to know it. I remember to let go and let God.
