The Importance of Choosing Peace

Mary:
Today is a day of accepting peace. Today is a day of making the choice to accept peace my highest priority. Accepting and extending peace provides the reminder I need to let the veil be lifted. As the veil is lifted, I am able to see past illusions of separation to the truth of oneness. The truth is we are all the same Light of God. There are no differences.

What helps me throughout the day is to ask myself, “Am I choosing to accept and extend God’s peace right now?” As I am willing to accept God’s peace more and more, there is a natural flow of inspiration that carries me. Remembering to accept God’s gift of eternal peace provides a solid foundation for opening to the flow of awareness that comes from my true Self. This is my focus for today. This all that is important. This is how I receive and extend Holy Spirit’s healing help and I give thanks for all the help I receive as my willingness expands.

Robert:
Today is another day to practice being mindful of my thoughts and how I feel in each moment. If I observe that I am not at peace, it is a reminder to step back and take time to open my mind to peace, to open my mind to Holy Spirit’s vision. I want the Holy Spirit to be my interpreter of all things.

Yet I have a well-established habit of jumping to conclusions, having an opinion or interpretation of what a circumstance, event or what somebody says means. It is this habit that needs to be interrupted to make way for my true Self to show me Its interpretation. This is how I will learn to see with the forgiving eyes of Christ’s vision. This is how I accept God’s gift of happiness. This is my job today.

Let Go of Efforting

Mary:
Today is a day to practice letting the veil be lifted. Being willing to practice this will bring joy to my heart and mind. The Holy Spirit always takes the opportunity to heal my mind when I give Him the chance. The Holy Spirit is my advisor and comforter. Letting Him in by making space for Him and giving Him welcome is what my job is. A Course in Miracles reminds me, “In quiet is every problem quietly resolved.” As I relax and listen, peace returns to my confused mind and replaces all the scattered thoughts. Thank goodness I have the Holy Spirit to return me to peace when my mind wanders and I think I am separate and alone. In my mind resides the greatest gift — the gift of my universal Self. Today I will practice receiving this priceless gift and let the veil be lifted to recognize the eternal truth in me and everyone. And for this opportunity I give thanks.

Robert:
When I feel any sense of efforting, it is a sure sign that I am denying my union with God (Love). All strength and power come from Love. A sense of efforting can only mean that I believe my strength is diminished and I am working against a greater strength. This is impossible in truth, since there is no strength but Love’s, and my true Self remains unified in that Love.

Today my practice is to be vigilant for Love… to accept Love’s strength… to offer each thought of weakness to my true Self to be healed. This practice will take me great strides on my journey Home.

Sorting the Real from the Unreal

Mary:
This morning I woke up with the idea that the emphasis for this coming year is on recognizing the difference between the real and the unreal, and then to hand over the unreal thoughts of separation to the Holy Spirit to be transformed in the Light. This year is a year of recognizing the thoughts that come into my mind for what they are. It is a year of practicing forgiveness. It is a year of observing which hand I am holding at any given moment and allowing ego thoughts to be replaced by the healing thoughts of my true Self.

It is a year of letting go of defending against the truth that we are one Self, united with our Creator. This one Self we all are is one with God. Letting the truth return to our awareness is all that time is for. This is a year of gratitude and remembering that only the truth is true and nothing else is true. We are all God’s Love in God’s one Mind of Love. For this we give thanks.

Robert:
As I relax into God’s peace, I feel supported as though I were lying back in a reclining chair… Feeling this support, I feel safe to relax more… I feel my muscles letting go as my attention on the body lessens… I focus on the feeling of being fully supported in God’s Love… As I accept His support, my mind clears… Doubts and concerns fade… I feel more and more confident in my safety in God… Concerns in the world fade…

As I become more and more aware of the one Self I am in God, I become more aware that everyone is with me in this one Self — no exclusions. Together we are one Self, united in our Creator. In this one Self, all our needs are met and we are perfectly safe. As I accept this for myself, the conflict and doubt in the world becomes like a distant mirage. I remember my Strength, my Self, changeless and eternally held in the peace of God.

My focus now is to carry this awareness in all the doing that seems to come up during the day. I am grateful for this reminder that I am eternally safe in the Love of God.
