Let Healing Be

Let healing be through you this very day. And as you rest in quiet, be prepared to give as you receive, to hold but what you give, and to receive the Word of God to take the place of all the foolish thoughts that ever were imagined. Now we come together to make well all that was sick, and offer blessing where there was attack. Nor will we let this function be forgot as every hour of the day slips by, remembering our purpose with this thought:

When I am healed I am not healed alone. And I would bless my brothers, for I would be healed with them, as they are healed with me. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.137.15)

My practice for today is to “let healing be.” As I go through the day, I can repeat these three words to remind me to open my mind and accept Holy Spirit’s healing thoughts and healing peace. This constant vigilance to be open to Holy Spirit will help me remember to accept peace all through the day. With peace comes a transformed perspective of what I think is happening in the world. My only job is to remember to let healing be.

Today we read in Lesson 136, “If you let your mind… make plans against uncertainties to come, you have again misplaced yourself, and made a bodily identity which will attack the body, for the mind is sick.” Making plans for the future seems to be a persistent temptation. I need to be vigilant for when I am making plans on my own.

In the dream world there does seem to be a future. The key is to place the future in God’s Hands and not try to plan for it on my own. As I remember to step back and follow, I can relax, remembering that God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. He has given me all that I need for this.

My job is to be willing to accept it. When I make plans on my own, I am actually building a barrier against God’s gift of strength and peace and eternal Love. I do not really want these barriers. As I practice stepping back from my plans and accept Holy Spirit’s plan, I let healing be.

Accepting the Unity of Love

The decision to believe that I am in a body in a world of separation with a separate identity is the decision to not know my Self. The effect of this decision is to be fearful because it is the decision to believe I am without Love. Anything I perceive through the body’s senses is inevitably wrong because it is based on the belief of separation.

Today it is my practice to resign as interpreter and to open my mind to the Holy Spirit’s interpretation in every moment. The Holy Spirit knows that in truth, I am eternally complete, invulnerable and wholly loving, as is everyone. With Holy Spirit’s help I will lay down the judgments of separation and accept the unity of Love today.

I accept the unity of Love by following the lead of Love. As I practice, hour by hour, following Holy Spirit’s lead, I am easily led down a quiet path to peace. Love is simple and uncomplicated. As I let the barriers to Love be removed, I see that Love is all.

Accepting Happiness

A Course in Miracles says that God’s Will for all of us is perfect happiness. So if I am experiencing anything other than perfect happiness, I must be denying God’s Will for me. Conflict, lack of peace, problems, all are indications that I am denying God’s Will for me. Since this world is the denial of God’s Will, these symptoms seem to be the norm. Yet what is truly normal for us as God’s Son, is perfect happiness, deep peace and Love without limit.

This is why it is important to be mindful of what I am feeling in each moment. If I am not feeling God’s Will, then I need help in letting go of my denial of It. I need to bring any sense of disturbance to God’s Answer — the Holy Spirit in my mind. If I do this with willingness, I will receive the Holy Spirit’s gentle correction that will show me the truth beyond the disturbing images that I thought were real. This is the Holy Spirit’s use for all situations in the world. In the Holy Spirit’s hands, every moment is an opportunity to release the past and remember the perfect happiness that is always now.

Today I will practice being mindful of what I am feeling and hold my mind open to the Holy Spirit’s reinterpretation, which will help me let go of the past and experience the blessing of now.
