God Is the Strength in Which I Trust

…reach down into your mind to a place of real safety. You will recognize that you have reached it if you feel a sense of deep peace, however briefly. Let go all the trivial things that churn and bubble on the surface of your mind, and reach down and below them to the Kingdom of Heaven. There is a place in you where there is perfect peace. There is a place in you where nothing is impossible. There is a place in you where the strength of God abides. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.47.7)

Today is a day of allowing the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace to flow through us like a river… Today is a day of willingness to let ourselves be carried by the deep peace that is the gift of our true Self… Here is our strength, given us by God… We place our trust in God’s strength today, not the illusions of the world…

Our true Self shares God’s peace and strength, because He shares all of Himself with His Creation. In our true Self, nothing is impossible. If we experience any uncertainty or lack of peace, it is only because we are identifying with a false image that denies our one Self, created by God. This means that uncertainty is simply a reminder to go within and reconnect with the peace that is our true nature. Here are all problems quietly resolved.

Do I Want to Be Happy?

The Course tells us in many ways that there is nothing to fear in truth. So why does it seem that things come up every day that disturb our peace? It’s only because we are believing in a made up image that is really nothing. It is our belief in it that seems to make it something that could potentially be some kind of threat.

This is really good news, because belief can always be changed. We’ve all experienced changing our belief many times. We believe in these images because we made them. So we need Help from outside of our belief system to recognize that these made up images are without substance. This is the function of the Holy Spirit in our minds.

Time can be used for waking up from the fearful dream simply by practicing taking every disturbance to the Holy Spirit and asking for His help to see it truly. But that is not enough. We must also be willing to receive and accept His help. Truth does not enter where it is not welcome. But when truth is welcomed, Its Light shines away the shadowy illusions.

If a disturbance seems to linger, it can be helpful to ask, “Do I want to be happy?” If the answer is “yes,” we must be willing to accept Holy Spirit’s correction. With that acceptance, happiness comes of itself. We can be happy today, now, simply by bringing every disturbance to the Holy Spirit and accepting His correction. This is our practice today.

Following God’s Plan

God’s plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. Changelessly it stands before you like an open door, with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home, where you belong.

Here is the answer! Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within? Forgive and be forgiven. As you give you will receive. There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.122.5,6:1-5)

Our prayer for today: Holy Spirit, help us lay aside our ideas about how any circumstance or form in the world should appear. We would have Love guide our vision in every decision we make today. Help us use every moment for Your purpose of joining in Love today.

Using the Body for Christ’s Purpose

The body needs no healing. But the mind that thinks it is a body is sick indeed! And it is here that Christ sets forth the remedy. His purpose folds the body in His light, and fills it with the Holiness that shines from Him. And nothing that the body says or does but makes Him manifest. To those who know Him not it carries Him in gentleness and love, to heal their minds. Such is the mission that your brother has for you. And such it must be that your mission is for him. (A Course in Miracles T-25.Intro.3)

We all have a mission here. As we learn to follow the guidance of the Christ Mind, our mission of gentleness and Love unfolds, like a beautiful carpet. Each day carries new opportunities to see the Christ in every brother. Each day carries opportunities to receive the truth and extend the truth. Such is our mission here.

I Will There Be Light

Today we reviewed Workbook Lesson 73, “I will there be Light.” This is not saying that we need to make Light happen. It is simply acknowledging what our will is. Our will is God’s Will, which is Light. The only reason we don’t experience the Light that is our will is because we are hiding from it by hanging on to grievances, aka judgments.

It is helpful to recognize the signs that we are covering the Light with grievances. Sadness, impatience, frustration, struggle, pain, unworthiness, fear and anger are some of the symptoms of holding on to grievances. These grievances hide the eternal Light within, making us unaware of It. We see our grievances reflected back to us by a darkened world, which shows us seeming justification for our grievances.

But as we lay down our grievances, the Light within begins to shine through and we see more and more reflections of Love (Light) in the world. Sans grievances, the world becomes a happy place of joining with our brothers in the oneness of our shared Self, the one Son of God.

Today’s practice is to be vigilant for signs of grievances and, with each one, remind ourselves, “I will there be Light. Darkness is not my will.”

Carried in the Infinite Love of God

Father, I give all that is mine today to Christ, to use in any way that best will serve the purpose that I share with Him. Nothing is mine alone, for He and I have joined in purpose. Thus has learning come almost to its appointed end. A while I work with Him to serve His purpose. Then I lose myself in my Identity, and recognize that Christ is but my Self. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.353.1:1-5)

In our practicing today, we go past words to accepting our beingness in the Love we are. We rest in God’s Love today, trusting that we are being carried in the most beneficial way to serve the awakening of the Sonship. We are carried because we remain eternally within the infinite Love of God. We place our trust in Love’s laws today and return to the peace of our Father.

Seeing Past Bodies to Love’s Oneness

Believing we are a body, or even in a body, is totally debilitating. The body is a wall that isolates us from All That Is. With this limitation, we are unaware of the Thought of Love we share with God; We are unaware of the Love we share with all our brothers. It is frightening and lonely to believe we are within this wall of separation.

The good news is that this seemingly impenetrable wall is just a false belief. A belief can always be changed. We do not have to be limited by any belief. We have the means to let go of every false belief. This means is forgiveness with the help of the Holy Spirit, our true Self. Our part in the forgiveness process is to bring each thought of guilt to the Holy Spirit, with willingness to receive His vision.

His vision will show us the timeless Love that is everywhere, beyond the images of fear and pain and loss. His vision shows us that Love surrounds us in peace and safety. The Holy Spirit is ever present in our minds, ready to help us transform our mistaken beliefs into the recognition of our oneness in Love.

Today’s practice is to be mindful of thoughts reflecting the false belief in separation and give them to the Holy Spirit in our minds. With willingness, we will receive a new vision that shows us that we remain the Love that Love created us to be.
