There Is No Place But Home

Robert:
There is no place like Home. This statement from the Wizard of Oz could be more accurately phrased: There is no place but Home. This world, the land of Oz, is a fantasy fabricated in our minds, a dream that could never be real. It does not really exist. Learning this is the equivalent of clicking our heals to escape from the dream. All we need to do is learn what is real and what is not. The good news is that we have eternally present in our minds the Teacher Who will help us recognize what is real. But we must be willing to be taught.

The first step in this is to accept the possibility that our interpretations may be wrong. This is a step toward the willingness that opens our mind to the truth. Today I am willing to accept that my interpretations might be wrong. I am willing to let the curtain be pulled back so that I may recognize illusions for what they are and receive the Holy Spirit’s interpretation that leads me to truth. Today I would remember there is no place but Home.

Mary:
Today we are going to attend a seminar on Internet communications. I ask Holy Spirit to lead me through this day so that I am paying attention to what Holy Spirit wants me to learn. I realize that I am in Holy Spirit’s school, but many times I forget and wander into ego’s dead end streets. So I ask Holy Spirit what would help to keep me connected all through the day.

The answer that arises in my mind is to consistently remember to choose peace all through the day. Choosing peace realigns my mind to accept Holy Spirit’s inner direction. It stimulates moving into a more relaxed state, open to Holy Spirit’s inner promptings. So my willingness to consistently choose peace all through the day is like my lifeline to inner inspiration. Choosing peace consistently through the day helps me remember that I am being carried by Holy Spirit’s plan of awakening.

I am led to awakening from the dream as I am receptive and willing to be taught what is most truly helpful in any moment. As I accept this state of mind, I feel enveloped in deep peace, fully cared for and safe in the Mind of God. I experience a gentleness and can easily recognize the gentle peace that resides in everyone’s mind, whether they are paying attention to it or not.

So today may look like we are going to a conference about the Internet on the outside. But on the inside I am attending Holy Spirit’s conference on enhancing the practice of receiving and extending God’s universal peace. I can’t think of anything more important than this. What an opportunity I have today!

Let Inspiration Guide

Robert:
This weekend, at her “Inspired to Be Truly Helpful” workshop, Rev. Mary Lenihan introduced the thought: “Step back. Step aside. Let Inspiration guide.” This simple focus is the key to living in Light. Light and peace go together. This simple practice clears the way for Inspiration in every moment. This is my practice today.

Mary:
This morning, many ideas were swirling in my mind. At Mary Lenihans workshop we met or heard about 2 key people who could possibly play an important part in our new venture in Florida. This morning when I go to the Holy Spirit, I am asked to surrender all of my ideas to God. Put them on God’s Altar. What is useful will stay and what is not truly helpful will disappear in the Light.

In this inner place of peace and quietness, I am gently reminded again that as we all allow Holy Spirit’s plan to unfold, moment by moment, we are brought to an awareness of the truth that we are one Light and there is no distance between us. The Holy Spirit knows all the connections that need to be made in the dream. My job is to continuously step back and follow where peace leads me, moment by moment. My job is to let go and let God all through this day. I am reminded, “The memory of God comes to the quiet mind.” (A Course in Miracles, T-23.I.1:1)

Go to Your Inner Holy Place

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Keep it simple. Go to your inner holy place. Be receptive. Remember that you know nothing. Receive a change of mind. That means letting go of what you now believe is true. Listen and receive. Let the Holy Spirit do the work. Allow the healing to occur in your mind. Relax, let go and let God. This is your inner work. Practice allowing healing to occur in your mind now.

Holy Spirit to Sharyn: Today as you go through your day, remembering to see the face of Christ in everyone’s face as you look at them is all that is important. Seeing the Love they are and extending your Love to them is the only reason you are there. Your part in God’s plan for salvation is seeing the face of Christ in everyone, for when you see that face it is impossible to judge or condemn. Extending Love to others can be done in many ways, whether it is just a smile, a hug or simply a silent “bless you.” Blessing others is blessing God. When you see others through the eyes of Christ as Jesus would see them you are not seeing separation. You are seeing Love.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Today is the day to remember that Love is in everything you see because only Love is real. Accept the Love and extend the Love. By this you will bless and be blessed. You know the Love you are by recognizing the Love everywhere. Have a blessed day.

Receiving Peace

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Go with the flow in the moment. Watch your mind for wandering thoughts that stray into the past or future. Remember that the Holy Spirit is in your mind right this minute, extending peace to you. Instead of the past or the future, focus on receiving peace in the present moment. Inherent in receiving peace is extending peace.

Allow yourself to recognize the essence of peace in everyone. In this place of peace will come an automatic knowing of how to be truly helpful as we all awaken to the truth.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
As God’s extension of Love, you have but one function — to extend Love. Let the Holy Spirit show you the Love in everything, everywhere. And you will be blessed by everything you look upon.

A Box of Chocolates

Robert:
The line from the movie, Forrest Gump, came to mind, “Life is like a box of chocolates.” We can perceive the future as unknown and be afraid because of the uncertainty. Or we can allow ourselves to stay in peace and let Inspiration guide us through each “chocolate” experience. No matter what is in the center of the chocolate, Inspiration will always guide us to use it on behalf of healing and awakening.

Today I choose to stay in peace and let each “chocolate” experience be a blessing that extends to all.

Mary:
Our experience with the many A Course in Miracles students here in St. Louis is a joy. We have seen many old friends and met new friends. Mary Lenihan’s workshop is truly inspiring to me. As Holy Spirit spoke through her, the peace and ease and gentleness of our one true Self was so evident. The session ended with a rousing song led by Donna Marie Carey. She had us all up and moving, singing as we gave and received Love to all our brothers and sisters in the room.

This morning as I go to Spirit, I am reminded to practice connecting with the peace in everyone and that this is how I experience God’s peace myself. This is a day of going with the flow, being carried by the Holy Spirit.

Stay Connected with Peace

Mary:
Today we are flying to St. Louis. Missouri to attend Rev. Mary Lenihan’s workshop, “Inspired to Be Truly Helpful.” With all the flight arrangements I know it will be a very active day.

As I go to Spirit this morning in quiet, it comes to me that my job is to accept peace and extend peace. In the world it may look like I am walking through airports, flying to St. Louis, etc. But inside, I have been given clear direction in how to be helpful to myself and to my brother, and that is to stay connected with the peace of God. This is my practice today.

We will give you updates on our experience as we have time.

Robert:
Today we read A Course in Miracles Workbook lesson 188: “The peace of God is shining in me now.” It reminded me that the Light of God is in me, as it has always been. I need only be willing to look within to the Light that is God’s extension to remember His gift of peace. What I choose to see within is what will be reflected back to me as I look upon the world.

This is why forgiveness is so important. Unforgiving thoughts block me from awareness of the Light within and so I look upon a world darkened by guilt and fear. Forgiveness lets me see the Light that I am and so I see a world of Light. All my brothers reflect back to me the Light I see within.

Today I will practice opening to the Light within and seeing Its reflection everywhere.

Mr. Clean

Robert:
Waking up seems hard to do only because I have so diligently buried the guilt and fear that come with believing I am separate and alone. The ego would have me believe that I must figure out how to wake up; I must analyze and dissect my thoughts and feelings ad infinitum. This is an ego trick to keep me within the closed loop of ego thinking.

The ego is incapable of finding its way out of its self-created box. This is why forgiveness is not my job. Willingness to accept forgiveness is my job. This means I must be willing to offer all my thoughts, all my interpretations in every moment to the Holy Spirit with an open mind, willing to receive His interpretation.

It is the Holy Spirit’s function to judge, not mine. The Holy Spirit’s judgment is very simple: It’s either real or not real. When my mind is open, the Holy Spirit can teach me what is unreal. What I recognize as unreal I will automatically let go, without effort. I do not need to know all the unconscious “memories” I am carrying with me. They will fade away as I practice letting Holy Spirit be my interpreter in every moment. The Holy Spirit knows the past is gone and therefore meaningless. As I let the Holy Spirit interpret for me, I will learn the past is gone and can have no effect in the present.

Today I will practice again keeping my mind open to the Holy Spirit’s interpretation in every moment.

Mary:
The following prayer from Lesson 291 shows me how I can be truly helpful in this dream to help Holy Spirit’s plan of awakening to the truth:

This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. I do not know the way to You. But You are wholly certain. Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.291.2

What is coming to me again and again in many different ways is that there is no ‘outside world.’ There is no ‘past’ nor ‘future.’ There is only Love right now, which is eternal. The thoughts that come from the ego mind are just junk thoughts. I do not need to hold on to them and believe in them. My job now is simply to hand them over as they come up and let them be cleaned away by the Holy Spirit. By letting my mind be cleaned of false ideas, the way is made to receive Holy Spirit’s clear direction, Holy Spirit’s peace and happiness.

Today is another day of letting my mind be cleaned. A picture comes into my mind of Mr. Clean being the Holy Spirit. I ask Mr. Clean to wash away every thought that comes up that is not Love. And He smiles happily at my request because He is perfectly equipped for the task.
