Accepting God’s Gift of Love

⁵The body is itself a sacrifice; a giving up of power in the name of saving just a little for yourself. ⁶To see a brother in another body, separate from yours, is the expression of a wish to see a little part of him and sacrifice the rest.

The world you see is based on “sacrifice” of oneness. ²It is a picture of complete disunity and total lack of joining.

The body is a loss, and can be made to sacrifice. ²And while you see your brother as a body, apart from you and separate in his cell, you are demanding sacrifice of him and you. ³What greater sacrifice could be demanded than that God’s Son perceive himself without his Father? ⁴And his Father be without His Son? ⁵Yet every sacrifice demands that They be separate and without the Other. ⁶The memory of God must be denied if any sacrifice is asked of anyone.

Those who would see the witnesses to truth instead of to illusion merely ask that they might see a purpose in the world that gives it sense and makes it meaningful. ²Without your special function has this world no meaning for you. ³Yet it can become a treasure house as rich and limitless as Heaven itself. ⁴No instant passes here in which your brother’s holiness cannot be seen, to add a limitless supply to every meager scrap and tiny crumb of happiness that you allot yourself.

You can lose sight of oneness, but can not make sacrifice of its reality. ²Nor can you lose what you would sacrifice, nor keep the Holy Spirit from His task of showing you that it has not been lost. (A Course in Miracles, T-26.I.1:5-6;2:1-2;3:7–4:6;5:1–6:2. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

In this world we identify with a body and perceive others as separate bodies. This is how we limit ourselves and deny our true Self that remains united with our Father in His Love.

But we are not limited to a body. Our only meaningful function in this world is to accept God’s gift of Love to us, His Son. As we accept this, we accept His Love and see our brothers united with us in that Love.

Today we choose to no longer deny our inheritance. We let the Holy Spirit help us recognize our mistaken beliefs that deny God’s Love, and let them go. With His help we will recognize our unbreakable unity with our brothers and our Father. We will awaken to Love.

We Are Willing to Forgive and Accept Love’s Blessings

²You will believe that everything you use for sin can hurt you and become your enemy. …⁴It is as certain you will fear what you attack as it is sure that you will love what you perceive as sinless. ⁵He walks in peace who travels sinlessly along the way love shows him. ⁶For love walks with him there, protecting him from fear. ⁷And he will see only the sinless, who can not attack.

Walk you in glory, with your head held high, and fear no evil. ²The innocent are safe because they share their innocence. ³Nothing they see is harmful, for their awareness of the truth releases everything from the illusion of harmfulness. ⁴And what seemed harmful now stands shining in their innocence, released from sin and fear and happily returned to love. ⁵They share the strength of love because they looked on innocence.

⁴In kind forgiveness will the world sparkle and shine, and everything you once thought sinful now will be reinterpreted as part of Heaven. (A Course in Miracles, T-23.in.2:2,4-7;3:1-5;6:4. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

Conflict comes with judgment. Peace comes when we accept the oneness of Love as our Identity. Whenever we observe judgment in our mind, we have an opportunity to forgive and welcome Love’s vision.

Forgiveness is the key to letting go of our mistaken identity as separate. Each time we forgive a judgment, we let the Love in our world shine brighter. We accept Love’s blessing and extend Its blessing.

By the grace of God, we have been given a Teacher in our mind Who can help us let go of all judgment, one step at a time as we are willing. We are willing to be happy and peaceful today. We are willing to forgive and accept Love’s blessings.

Being Determined to See Love’s Presence

³You want salvation. ⁴You want to be happy. ⁵You want peace. ⁶You do not have them now, because your mind is totally undisciplined, and you cannot distinguish between joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, love and fear. ⁷You are now learning how to tell them apart. ⁸And great indeed will be your reward.

Your decision to see is all that vision requires. ²What you want is yours. …⁶God has one Son, and he is the resurrection and the life. ⁷His will is done because all power is given him in Heaven and on earth. ⁸In your determination to see is vision given you.

…as you repeat the idea [I am determined to see], you are stating that you are determined to change your present state for a better one, and one you really want.

³The extra repetitions should be applied to any situation, person or event that upsets you. ⁴You can see them differently, and you will. ⁵What you desire you will see. ⁶Such is the real law of cause and effect as it operates in the world. True vision cannot be seen with the body’s eyes. Determination to see means we do not want to give any meaning to what the body’s eyes see. We are determined to focus on the vision that shows us the Love in which we live. This vision shows our unity with our brothers and our Creator, because Love is one. Our determination to see is our commitment to disregard the dream of separation and welcome awareness that we are Love and nothing else.

In any situation where our peace of mind is disturbed today, we remind ourselves that we are determined to see Love’s presence. We are willing to accept help to let go of our mistaken focus. We want to know that we are Love.

Learning the Lessons That Set Us Free

Father, today I am Your Son again.

Today we will anticipate the time when dreams of sin and guilt are gone, and we have reached the holy peace we never left. ²Merely a tiny instant has elapsed between eternity and timelessness. ³So brief the interval there was no lapse in continuity, nor break in thoughts which are forever unified as one. ⁴Nothing has ever happened to disturb the peace of God the Father and the Son. ⁵This we accept as wholly true today.

We thank You, Father, that we cannot lose the memory of You and of Your Love. ²We recognize our safety, and give thanks for all the gifts You have bestowed on us, for all the loving help we have received, for Your eternal patience, and the Word which You have given us that we are saved.” (A Course in Miracles, W-234. As God’s Son, we remain eternally united with Him. This means that all God is, we are; we share all His attributes. We have made a dream of being different and separate from God, but dreams do not change Reality.

To reclaim our identity as God’s Son, we simply need to awaken from the dream. We have been given a Teacher Whose function is to help us learn our beliefs are mistaken and let them go. His loving lessons help us see the presence of Love that has never left us.

Today we welcome His help, knowing it will set us free from the limitations we have accepted in the dream. As we accept His help, the Light of Love dawns upon our mind. In gratitude we accept the peace and joy that is our natural state as God’s Son.

Finding Our Home in God’s Love

Father, I will but to remember You.

What can I seek for, Father, but Your Love? ²Perhaps I think I seek for something else; a something I have called by many names. ³Yet is Your Love the only thing I seek, or ever sought. ⁴For there is nothing else that I could ever really want to find. ⁵Let me remember You. ⁶What else could I desire but the truth about myself?

This is your will, my brother. ²And you share this will with me, and with the One as well Who is our Father. ³To remember Him is Heaven. ⁴This we seek. ⁵And only this is what it will be given us to find. (A Course in Miracles, W-231. See also ACIM Lesson 231 Insights.)

Everyone in the world is searching for Love, because it is the only thing the world cannot provide. The best it can offer is some form of specialness as a substitute. This world is the ego’s alternative to God’s Love. The wish for specialness denies His Love. All the human behavior in the world, the attack and murder, fear and guilt, sadness and loneliness come from the lack of Love in the dream.

The Love we seek can only be found by awakening from the dream. It is our true Will to be united with God in His Love. We will remember It when we forgive our wish for specialness. Love is not a distant goal. It is here now, forever present in our right mind. As we recognize our judgments and let them go, we will know the Love we are. We will remember we live in the Heaven of God’s Love.

We Are Forever Safe in God’s Love

The holy Christ is born in me today.

Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. ²Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born. ³Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. ⁴Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. ⁵And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. ⁶Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.

Your Son is welcome, Father. ²He has come to save me from the evil self I made. ³He is the Self that You have given me. ⁴He is but what I really am in truth. ⁵He is the Son You love above all things. ⁶He is my Self as You created me. ⁷It is not Christ that can be crucified. ⁸Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son. Christ is God’s Son, the extension of His Love. We are God’s Son, at one with Him in His Love. As we let go of our mistaken identity, we awaken to the fact that we were created by Love as Love.

This Love is invulnerable because Love does not change. The image of a separate self we made has no effect on the Self we are and have always been.

Today we stand before our Creator, bathed in His Love. In the presence of His Light, the false self-image is dispelled. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we accept His gift that keeps us forever safe. We are truly blessed.

Making Way for Love’s Return

Where darkness was I look upon the light.

Father, our eyes are opening at last. ²Your holy world awaits us, as our sight is finally restored and we can see. ³We thought we suffered. ⁴But we had forgot the Son whom You created. ⁵Now we see that darkness is our own imagining, and light is there for us to look upon. ⁶Christ’s vision changes darkness into light, for fear must disappear when love has come. ⁷Let me forgive Your holy world today, that I may look upon its holiness and understand it but reflects my own.

Our Love awaits us as we go to Him, and walks beside us showing us the way. ²He fails in nothing. ³He the End we seek, and He the Means by which we go to Him. (A Course in Miracles, W-302. See also ACIM Lesson 302 Insights.)

Christ’s vision sees past the loveless world to the eternal presence of Love. While judgment hides Love from our awareness, forgiveness makes way for Love’s return. We have a singular mission in this world: Forgive the world for all we thought it was. When that mission is fulfilled, we will awaken to our Home in the Heaven of God’s Love.

To fulfill our mission, we ask the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and actions.  We are grateful for our mighty Companion Whose vision is clear and Who knows the way to our Home in Love.
