Remembering the Real Meaning of Life

You who believed that God’s Last Judgment would condemn the world to hell along with you, accept this holy truth: God’s Judgment is the gift of the Correction He bestowed on all your errors, freeing you from them, and all effects they ever seemed to have. ²To fear God’s saving grace is but to fear complete release from suffering, return to peace, security and happiness, and union with your own Identity.

²Be not afraid of love. ³For it alone can heal all sorrow, wipe away all tears, and gently waken from his dream of pain the Son whom God acknowledges as His.

This is God’s Final Judgment: “You are still My holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. ²Therefore awaken and return to Me. ³I am your Father and you are My Son.” (A Course in Miracles,W-pII.10.3;4:2-3;5)

The ego is afraid of God’s final judgment, for His final judgment is that the ego is not real, never was, never will be. If we identify with the ego and believe the meaning of our life depends on what the ego accomplishes, we will be afraid of God’s last judgment. It will mean that our ego “life” is meaningless.

As God’s Son, our function is to let His Love extend through us to all of Creation. As we let ourselves be Love by forgiving our identification with the ego, we remember we are God’s Son. God wants us to remember this. He has given us His Voice to help us forgive our mistaken beliefs and waken to the Love we are.

Today we remind ourselves to listen to His Voice all through the day.

Accepting God’s Eternal Love

There is a peace that Christ bestows on us.

Who uses but Christ’s vision finds a peace so deep and quiet, undisturbable and wholly changeless, that the world contains no counterpart. ²Comparisons are still before this peace. ³And all the world departs in silence as this peace envelops it, and gently carries it to truth, no more to be the home of fear. ⁴For love has come, and healed the world by giving it Christ’s peace.

Father, the peace of Christ is given us, because it is Your Will that we be saved. ²Help us today but to accept Your gift, and judge it not. ³For it has come to us to save us from our judgment on ourselves. (A Course in Miracles, W-305. See also ACIM Lesson 305 Insights.)

When we forgive our barriers to Love, we see with Christ’s vision. We see the Love that is everywhere to be seen. We experience the peace and safety that surrounds us because only Love is real. We are loved eternally. Nothing can alter God’s eternal gift.

The world of Love awaits our forgiveness of our judgments. God’s Voice is always available to us. We only need is to accept His help, to be willing to let our perceptions be released and replaced with Christ’s vision. We are grateful for this help. Today is a day to walk in gratitude.

We Are Innately Loved and Loving

And God Himself shall wipe away all tears.

Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. ²Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. ³This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. ⁴Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. ⁵Let me see Your world instead of mine. ⁶And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. ⁷Father, I will not judge Your world today.

God’s world is happy. ²Those who look on it can only add their joy to it, and bless it as a cause of further joy in them. ³We wept because we did not understand. ⁴But we have learned the world we saw was false, and we will look upon God’s world today. Any sense of loss is a sure sign we are identifying with the ego. Forgiveness frees us from this mistaken identification. When we forgive, we let the barrier of judgment fade and welcome God’s world of Love.

As God’s Son, we are loved and loving. As we let the Love we are light our way, we live in Love’s joy and peace. Today let us join with all our brothers in the Love that we all are. In this joining we are happy, at peace and comforted by the certainty of God’s Love.

We Live in the Reality of Love

Today I claim the gifts forgiveness gives.

I will not wait another day to find the treasures that my Father offers me. ²Illusions are all vain, and dreams are gone even while they are woven out of thoughts that rest on false perceptions. ³Let me not accept such meager gifts again today. ⁴God’s Voice is offering the peace of God to all who hear and choose to follow Him. ⁵This is my choice today. ⁶And so I go to find the treasures God has given me.

I seek but the eternal. ²For Your Son can be content with nothing less than this. ³What, then, can be his solace but what You are offering to his bewildered mind and frightened heart, to give him certainty and bring him peace? ⁴Today I would behold my brother sinless. ⁵This Your Will for me, for so will I behold my sinlessness. Everyone is seeking relief from the chaos and conflict in the world. It is only our denial of God’s gift of changeless Love that shows us the illusion of a world where fear seems justified. Yet the Reality of our true Self is all of God’s Love, changeless and eternal. Forgiveness of our denial of Love is all that is needed to experience our life in the quiet certainty of God’s Love.

Our denial has been reinforced by myriad forms which portray our vulnerability and isolation. Yet as we practice accepting the Holy Spirit’s help to forgive, we learn that all forgiveness comes down to recognizing that only Love is real. Nothing else exists.

We continue our practice of forgiveness today by welcoming the Holy Spirit’s help to heal our misperceptions so we can recognize we live in Love’s Reality now.

We Let Love Be Itself

I am spirit.

²I am the Son of God. ³No body can contain my spirit, nor impose on me a limitation God created not.

I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.

²What can my function be but to accept the Word of God, Who has created me for what I am and will forever be? (A Course in Miracles, W-114.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 114 Insights.)

We have the power to bless the entire world with Love. We are not limited by a body. We do not have to go anywhere or do anything with our body to do this. We can do this because we are spirit. Spirit has no limits. It is eternally one with all in the Love of God.

To accept our part in God’s plan for salvation we need only forgive our attachment to a body as our identity. Each time we let go of a judgment and let the Holy Spirit show us the presence of Love beyond the body, we loosen our attachment to a separate identity. We see the world through the eyes of forgiveness. We let Love be Itself.

Choosing to Walk with Our Mighty Companion

…watch your mind and see… the senseless world you think is real. ⁶Review the thoughts as well which are compatible with such a world, and which you think are true. ⁷Then let them go, and sink below them to the holy place where they can enter not. ⁸There is a door beneath them in your mind, which you could not completely lock to hide what lies beyond.

Put out your hand, and see how easily the door swings open with your one intent to go beyond it. ²Angels light the way, so that all darkness vanishes, and you are standing in a light so bright and clear that you can understand all things you see. …the world you see before you in the light reflects the truth you knew, and did not quite forget in wandering away in dreams.

You cannot fail today. ²There walks with you the Spirit Heaven sent you, that you might approach this door some day, and through His aid slip effortlessly past it, to the light. ³Today that day has come. (A Course in Miracles, W-131.11:5-8;13;14:1-3. See also ACIM Lesson 131 Insights.)

The Holy Spirit, our best Friend, walks with us today, as He always has. Today we choose to welcome His companionship. We trust that He knows the path that will lead us to the Light within. In this Light, all is forgiven. Only Love is experienced.

We are grateful for our mighty Companion. He remembers for us the Love we have forgotten in our dreams of separation and fear. We feel the comfort He brings with His certainty of our eternal unity with our Creator. We accept His help to forgive our mistaken beliefs and walk with Him to freedom to be the limitless Love that is our natural state.

Welcoming the Holy Spirit’s Loving Correction

I will not be afraid of love today.

If I could realize but this today, salvation would be reached for all the world. ²This the decision not to be insane, and to accept myself as God Himself, my Father and my Source, created me. ³This the determination not to be asleep in dreams of death, while truth remains forever living in the joy of love. ⁴And this the choice to recognize the Self Whom God created as the Son He loves, and Who remains my one Identity.

Father, Your Name is Love and so is mine. ²Such is the truth. ³And can the truth be changed by merely giving it another name? ⁴The name of fear is simply a mistake. ⁵Let me not be afraid of truth today. (A Course in Miracles, W-282. See also ACIM Lesson 282 Insights.)

Our true Identity is Love. The ego is the denial of this fact. In its denial of reality, the ego must make up a world of illusions that support its denial of Love. Because fear is the absence of Love, fear pervades the ego’s world.

Forgiveness is the way out of the ego’s world. When we forgive our identification with the ego, we let go of our barriers to Love. We let the Light of our true Identity shine brighter in our mind. We experience a greater peace because of the stability of Love’s oneness. We trust in Love’s certainty, knowing Love does not change.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit’s help to recognize our mistaken perceptions and welcome His loving corrections.
