Forgiveness Brings Peace of Mind

My true Identity abides in You.

Father, I made an image of myself, and it is this I call the Son of God. ²Yet is creation as it always was, for Your creation is unchangeable. ³Let me not worship idols. ⁴I am he my Father loves. ⁵My holiness remains the light of Heaven and the Love of God. ⁶Is not what is beloved of You secure? ⁷Is not the light of Heaven infinite? ⁸Is not Your Son my true Identity, when You created everything that is?

Now are we one in shared Identity, with God our Father as our only Source, and everything created part of us. ²And so we offer blessing to all things, uniting lovingly with all the world, which our forgiveness has made one with us. (A Course in Miracles, W-283. See also ACIM Lesson 283 Insights.)

The truth is that we all share the one Identity of God’s Son. The truth that unites all of us is Love. Nothing else is real. It is accepting this fact that sets us free from the limitations the ego tries to impose.

We have the means to free ourselves from the limited thought system of individuality and separateness that is the ego. Forgiveness of our mistaken beliefs welcomes Love’s oneness.

Today, when we notice anything that is disturbing our peace of mind, we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see through eyes of forgiveness. With His help we will recognize that what is disturbing us is not real. Our forgiving eyes show us our unity in our Identity as Love and nothing else. Through forgiveness we find peace of mind.

Forgiveness Reveals Love’s Eternal Presence

I can be free of suffering today.

Father, I thank You for today, and for the freedom I am certain it will bring. ²This day is holy, for today Your Son will be redeemed. ³His suffering is done. ⁴For he will hear Your Voice directing him to find Christ’s vision through forgiveness, and be free forever from all suffering. ⁵Thanks for today, my Father. ⁶I was born into this world but to achieve this day, and what it holds in joy and freedom for Your holy Son and for the world he made, which is released along with him today.

Be glad today! ²Be glad! ³There is no room for anything but joy and thanks today. ⁴Our Father has redeemed His Son this day. ⁵Not one of us but will be saved today. ⁶Not one who will remain in fear, and none the Father will not gather to Himself, awake in Heaven in the Heart of Love. It may seem that the end of suffering is a long way off. That is the story the ego tells us. It uses belief in time as a tool to convince us that separation is real. It tells us the past determines our future. The ego does not want us to remember the reality of Love, which is ever present in the now moment.

We can claim our Reality by forgiving our attachment to the ego’s stories. This is why Christ’s vision, which sees through forgiveness, is the key to freedom from pain. In every moment of every day, Christ’s vision offers us the vision of Love, all encompassing, uniting us with Reality.

When we are willing to exclude nothing from our forgiveness, we will experience the peace and happiness which are our birthright.

Remembering Our Safety in Love

I am affected only by my thoughts.

It needs but this to let salvation come to all the world. ²For in this single thought is everyone released at last from fear. ³Now has he learned that no one frightens him, and nothing can endanger him. ⁴He has no enemies, and he is safe from all external things. ⁵His thoughts can frighten him, but since these thoughts belong to him alone, he has the power to change them and exchange each fear thought for a happy thought of love. ⁶He crucified himself. ⁷Yet God has planned that His beloved Son will be redeemed.

Your plan is sure, my Father,—only Yours. ²All other plans will fail. ³And I will have thoughts that will frighten me, until I learn that You have given me the only Thought that leads me to salvation. ⁴Mine alone will fail, and lead me nowhere. ⁵But the Thought You gave me promises to lead me home, because it holds Your promise to Your Son. The ego is the thought of fear, the denial of Love. Our true Self is the Thought of Love extended without limit. Because Love is eternal and all that is real, ego thoughts have no effect on it whatsoever. Love is our safety, our certainty that we remain as God created us.

Though we may dream of fear, the thought of Love remains with us. It speaks to us. When we choose to listen, It guides us to see past the ego’s images of fear to the reality of Love. The Voice of Love inspires us to be the Love we truly are. It helps us see past the images of fear and recognize they have no effect whatsoever on our reality as God’s Son.

Today we choose to listen to this Voice. As we accept Its message, we find peace and joy.

Resting in the Love of Our Creator

My sinlessness protects me from all harm.

My sinlessness ensures me perfect peace, eternal safety, everlasting love, freedom forever from all thought of loss; complete deliverance from suffering. ²And only happiness can be my state, for only happiness is given me. ³What must I do to know all this is mine? ⁴I must accept Atonement for myself, and nothing more. ⁵God has already done all things that need be done. ⁶And I must learn I need do nothing of myself, for I need but accept my Self, my sinlessness, created for me, now already mine, to feel God’s Love protecting me from harm, to understand my Father loves His Son; to know I am the Son my Father loves.

You Who created me in sinlessness are not mistaken about what I am. ²I was mistaken when I thought I sinned, but I accept Atonement for myself. ³Father, my dream is ended now. ⁴Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-337. See also ACIM Lesson 337 Insights.)

We are not what we believe we are. We are not a body. We do not live in a world where there are billions of other bodies. Our seeming existence in this world is not our life.

Our real Life exists in the oneness of God’s Love. There are no differences in His Love. Loss is impossible. The only thing that stands between us and the experience of our real Life is the mistaken wish that we could keep something for ourselves alone.

To accept the Atonement for ourselves is to let go of our mistaken wish for specialness. This mistaken wish sends us on a quest that can never be fully satisfied. But forgiving that wish leads to peace eternal and joy without limit. It acknowledges that we rest in the Love of our Creator.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s help to forgive our mistaken wishes. We are are grateful for His help.

Learning to See Our One Self in Others

I choose to see my brother’s sinlessness.

Forgiveness is a choice. ²I never see my brother as he is, for that is far beyond perception. ³What I see in him is merely what I wish to see, because it stands for what I want to be the truth. ⁴It is to this alone that I respond, however much I seem to be impelled by outside happenings. ⁵I choose to see what I would look upon, and this I see, and only this. ⁶My brother’s sinlessness shows me that I would look upon my own. ⁷And I will see it, having chosen to behold my brother in its holy light.

What could restore Your memory to me, except to see my brother’s sinlessness? ²His holiness reminds me that he was created one with me, and like myself. ³In him I find my Self, and in Your Son I find the memory of You as well. (A Course in Miracles, W-335. See also ACIM Lesson 335 Insights.)

To see our brothers sinless, we must let Christ’s vision show us the Love he is beyond the form of the body. Love is one and has no form. When we let go of our wish for form to be real, which is the wish for specialness, we see the truth that unites us all in the Love of our Creator. When we are no longer attached to our own identity as a body, we are able to accept the one Self we share with every brother.

To help us make the transition from identifying as a body to seeing ourselves as one with all in Love, we have the Holy Spirit to be our Guide. He will help us see with the forgiving eyes of Christ. With this vision, we see past all form to our oneness with our Creator. We identify as God’s one Son. Here is where we find peace and joy.
