Looking Lovingly on Our Brothers

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. Fail not your brothers, or you fail yourself. Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.139.9. See also ACIM Lesson 139 Insights.)

Our mission here is to accept our true Identity as God created us. Our mission here is to accept the truth of everyone’s true Identity. In truth we all are joined as the one Love of God. In truth we are all the same extension of the Mind of universal Love.

Because this world shows us the opposite of Love’s oneness, we awaken to the truth as we consistently step back from what our body’s eyes show us and open to the inspiration that comes from our true Identity. Here we are reminded again that we are still safe in the Mind of God. We are reminded again that we are not a body, we are free. We are still the pure Spirit of Love as God created us.

We are reminded that we are safe… we are innocent… we are loved… we are Home… now and for eternity. And this same truth about us is true about every brother. That is why we “look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them.” (9:7)

Returning to Our Home in Heaven

Heaven itself is reached with empty hands and open minds, which come with nothing to find everything and claim it as their own. We will attempt to reach this state today, with self-deception laid aside, and with an honest willingness to value but the truly valuable and the real. [Remind yourself]:

I will not value what is valueless, and only what has value do I seek, for only that do I desire to find. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.133.13. See also ACIM Lesson 133 Insights.)

Today we will remember the truth that only changeless Love is real… Today we will remember that we gain our freedom from the ego as we shift our belief from time to eternity… Today we will remember we are still as God created us — whole, perfect and complete…

We are the Spirit of Love. We come from God and we remain in God eternally. Here we find peace. As we do this we free ourselves and the world from ego’s false images of separation and return to real world of God’s oneness. It returns us to the gates of Heaven, where we are welcomed Home.

Forgiveness Ends All Suffering and Loss

Forgiveness paints a picture of a world where suffering is over, loss becomes impossible and anger makes no sense. Attack is gone, and madness has an end. What suffering is now conceivable? What loss can be sustained? [In forgiveness] the world becomes a place of joy, abundance, charity and endless giving. It is now so like to Heaven that it quickly is transformed into the light that it reflects. And so the journey which the Son of God began has ended in the light from which he came. Forgiveness comes when we take our thoughts to the Holy Spirit to be undone. Our practice today is to forgive the world for all we thought it was. The truth is we are still one with the Mind of universal Love. We have not changed into a weak, vulnerable, separate entity. Because God created us whole and perfect, we could not change or be different from the pure Love we are eternally.

Through the practice of forgiveness, we let go of what we thought we were. We let go of what we thought our brothers were. We open to the Light of the Holy Spirit within and willingly let our false ideas be undone in the Light of truth. This is why forgiveness ends all suffering and loss.

There Is Nothing to Fear

Our Father, bless our eyes today. We are Your messengers, and we would look upon the glorious reflection of Your Love which shines in everything. We live and move in You alone. We are not separate from Your eternal life. There is no death, for death is not Your Will. And we abide where You have placed us, in the life we share with You and with all living things, to be like You and part of You forever. We accept Your Thoughts as ours, and our will is one with Yours eternally. Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.163.9. See also ACIM Lesson 163 Insights.)

We place our faith in the eternal today… We practice seeing past the constantly changing forms this world of separation offers… We practice remembering we are not separate from the eternal life we live in God…

There truly is nothing to fear because we are safe in God forever… We recognize this is true about ourselves and everyone we meet or even think of today… We truly are children of God… We are very blessed.

The Christ in Us Brings Us Peace

Where could your peace arise but from forgiveness? The Christ in you looks only on the truth, and sees no condemnation that could need forgiveness. He is at peace because He sees no sin. Identify with Him, and what has He that you have not? He is your eyes, your ears, your hands, your feet. How gentle are the sights He sees, the sounds He hears. How beautiful His hand that holds His brother’s, and how lovingly He walks beside him, showing him what can be seen and heard, and where he will see nothing and there is no sound to hear. The Christ in us brings us peace because there is no condemnation in Him. We are learning to identify with the thoughts of the Christ Mind as what our mind truly is. The Christ Mind works through us as we give It our full attention. We are kind and gentle with every brother because we see their innocence. Seeing everyone’s innocence instead of guilt strengthens our peace of mind and brings us joy. We feel so happy as we recognize the Christ in us, and see it in every brother as we go through our day.

Let Love Guide Us Today

God’s strength and Love are eternally ours, given us in our creation. God’s gifts are given eternally; we can never be without them. When we engage in the dream of separation, we are unaware of God’s gifts, but they remain ours. We can turn to them in any moment. We only need to turn to His Voice with willingness to receive the eternal message that we remain as God created us.

In times of conflict, stress, fear or guilt, it can be helpful to remind ourselves that we are not a body, we are free. We are still as God created us — innocent and at one with all Love, complete and whole. Love’s strength is ours. We can count on it to support us and supply all that we really need. The Love that we are helps us see past the forms of the world to the changeless Love that lies beyond them.

Our practice today is to let Love guide our actions, our thoughts and our seeing through the day. With Love as our Guide, we will know we are safe and that our brothers are safe along with us in the comfort of Love’s Arms. With this practice, it will be a happy and peace filled day.

Receiving Holy Spirit’s Lessons

Let [the Holy Spirit] be Judge as well of everything that seems to happen to you in this world. His lessons will enable you to bridge the gap between illusions and the truth.

He will select the elements in them which represent the truth, and disregard those aspects which reflect but idle dreams. And He will reinterpret all you see, and all occurrences, each circumstance, and every happening that seems to touch on you in any way from His one frame of reference, wholly unified and sure. And you will see the love beyond the hate, the constancy in change, the pure in sin, and only Heaven’s blessing on the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.151.9:4-5;11:1-3. The Holy Spirit will purify our thoughts if we let Him. Our part is to let our mind be still and be receptive to Holy Spirit’s mind purification. The Holy Spirit will show us the difference between the real and the unreal. The Holy Spirit lifts the veil of our belief in separation and shows us Love’s Presence is everywhere.

He shows us the holiness beyond all forms of separation and the oneness and purity of Love beyond all conflict. The Holy Spirit brings us peace of mind and a sense of well being that comes with recognition of our true Nature. We gratefully receive Holy Spirit’s lessons today.
