Accepting Holy Spirit’s Gift of Freedom

Freedom comes as I let the Holy Spirit judge all things for me. The ego has judged all things as separate and alone. The ego’s judgment tries to place its guilt outside itself. That is why it needs an ‘outside.’ On the other hand, the Holy Spirit sees all as one. The Holy Spirit shows me there is no outside. There is no guilt. When I hold hands with the Holy Spirit, all I see is innocence.

There is only one Christ Mind that is real. The Holy Spirit reminds me of the unreality of separation. The Holy Spirit shows me the meaninglessness of a world of separation. It is only when I am willing to go to the Holy Spirit that I will receive the Holy Spirit’s judgment. The Holy Spirit shows me the difference between the real and the unreal, and through this I find freedom from the bondage of the ego thought system of separation.

Today is a day of letting the Holy Spirit judge for me. Today I would practice refraining from judging on my own. Today I would practice holding Holy Spirit’s hand and receiving Christ’s vision. Today I would take one more step towards accepting the freedom that is mine. (Excerpt from ACIM Workbook Daily Lesson 311 Insights.)

It is very helpful to realize that I am accepting freedom when I step back and ask the Holy Spirit to judge all things for me. I am not loosing independence. I am gaining all freedom as I go to Holy Spirit with every fear, with every concern. The truth is I never could be independent of God. Everyone in the world — every Son of God — is still one with God.

We cannot change reality, no matter what images of being alone and separate we imagine to be real. We thought we gained freedom for ourselves by trying to be independent of God. But all we have done is lay a heavy burden of fear, guilt and punishment on ourselves. We are now learning to step back and allow the Holy Spirit to free us by removing all traces of this heavy burden. The Holy Spirit brings us true freedom as we follow His wise and loving guidance.

That is why my only goal is to let Holy Spirit judge everything for me today. I need to be taught the difference between the real and the unreal, truth and illusion. I need to be taught to see past the illusions of separation to the eternal truth that we still are one in God’s Love. This is how I am freed from the ego’s guilt to accept the Holy Spirit’s gift of Love’s oneness.

The Journey to Joy

Every moment is an opportunity. The ego sees it as an opportunity to get more or defend what it thinks it has. The Holy Spirit sees it as an opportunity to give Love and receive Its blessing. The ego’s approach guarantees guilt and conflict. The Holy Spirit’s approach guarantees joy and peace. We always choose between these two paths.

When we choose the Holy Spirit as our Guide, every moment is used as a stepping stone that leads us closer and closer to the experience of Heaven, where we belong in truth. As we choose to walk with the Holy Spirit, we are led to recognize the seeming barriers to Love as illusions. When illusions are recognized, they are easily laid down and the path to Love becomes lit with God’s joy. We choose this journey today.

I Will Step Back and Let Him Lead the Way

This is the way salvation works. As you step back, the Light in you steps forward and encompasses the world. …In lightness and in laughter is sin gone, because its quaint absurdity is seen.

“Who walks with me?” This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and established peace. Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world, I light my mind and all the minds which God created one with me. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.156.6:1-2,4;8:1-6. See also ACIM Lesson 156 Insights.)

When we walk with God in His perfect holiness, we see only innocence everywhere. There is nothing else to see. Guilt disappears as we accept God’s holiness, our true Self, in us. Fear disappears, for we no longer project guilt on the world. The vision of a forgiven world, where only innocence is seen, is a happy dream indeed for it welcomes God’s gift of perfect happiness.

As we let the Light of holiness shine through our minds today, we bless the world by seeing that Light everywhere. That blessing is reflected back to us and we accept God’s joy as ours.

God’s Gifts of Peace & Joy Belong to Us Today

His are the gifts that are within us now, for they are timeless. And we need not wait to have them. They belong to us today.

Therefore, we choose to have them now, and know, in choosing them in place of what we made, we but unite our will with what God wills, and recognize the same as being one.

[We] lay aside the conflicts of the world that offer other gifts and other goals made of illusions, witnessed to by them, and sought for only in a world of dreams.

All this we lay aside, and seek instead that which is truly ours, as we ask to recognize what God has given us. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.104.2:4-6;3:1,4;4:1. See also ACIM Lesson 104 Insights.)

Imagine what today and every day would be like as you accept the peace and joy God has given you eternally… Better yet, imagine what the next hour will be like as you let God’s peace and joy fill your mind… You let God’s peace and joy carry you through this sacred hour…

You let the holy thoughts that come with these sacred gifts come into your mind… You join as one with God’s peace and joy… You remember that God’s gifts of peace and joy belong to you today.

I Hear Holy Spirit’s Call

The Holy Spirit is calling me to peace. The Holy Spirit is calling me to joy. I answer by stilling my mind and listening.

I am brought to the eternal now. I receive Universal Inspiration in a form that is best for me now. I feel the Holy Spirit lighting up my mind and healing all my thoughts of separation.

My awareness of our oneness is growing. I feel the Holy Spirit’s joy overflowing as I continue to follow Holy Spirit’s lead. I am led to accepting and sharing oneness in God’s Love. (Poster from Pathways of Light course 912: Accepting Holy Spirit’s Help)

Christ’s Vision Is a Gift We Give Ourselves

Think who your brother is, before you would condemn him. And offer thanks to God that he is holy, and has been given the gift of holiness for you. Join him in gladness, and remove all trace of guilt from his disturbed and tortured mind. Help him to lift the heavy burden of sin you laid upon him and he accepted as his own, and toss it lightly and with happy laughter away from him. The Course tells us to not mistake the body for the Son of God. To see our brother truly, we must disregard what the body’s eyes show us and pay attention to what our inner spiritual vision shows us. Christ’s vision shows us our brother as pure Love, wholly innocent and united with our one Self. Our inner vision shows us the magnificence of our brother that is beyond words. As we accept this vision of our brother, it automatically translates to seeing ourselves in the same Light.

Think what a joyous day it would be if we let Christ’s vision dominate our awareness today. Seeming conflicts would fade. We would be experiencing the gift of Love coming back to us from everywhere because we would be seeing Love everywhere. Guilt would disappear because we would see only innocence with Christ’s vision. Giving our attention first to Christ’s vision is the gift we give the world and ourselves, for giving and receiving are the same. This is our practice today.

Today We Let Peace Carry Us to Truth

Who uses but Christ’s vision finds a peace so deep and quiet, undisturbable and wholly changeless, that the world contains no counterpart. Comparisons are still before this peace. And all the world departs in silence as this peace envelops it, and gently carries it to truth, no more to be the home of fear. For love has come, and healed the world by giving it Christ’s peace. Today we focus on accepting God’s gift of peace… We let the Light of peace fill our minds… We let ourselves feel the deep peace that returns to our awareness… Where there was conflict, now there is only quiet… We let our minds soak in this quietness… We have one intent now and that is to let God’s peace carry us to the truth…

We let ourselves feel the contentment… the joy… and sense of well being that comes with accepting God’s peace… We know deep in our hearts that all is well… We know deep in our hearts that we are still Home, safe in the Mind of God.
