Accepting My True Self

Robert:
When I identify with my true Self, I “feel a deep content, a certainty of help, a calm assurance Heaven goes with [me].” (A Course in Miracles, T-29.IX.9:1)

The fact that I perceive a world of conflict and differences, uncertainty and vulnerability shows me that I have bought into the thought system of separation and judgment. Judgment is the mechanism that makes separation seem real. It is the denial of what I really am and thus makes me unaware of the Self that Love created.

What I really want is to remember and accept my true Self. To do this I need to let go of the defense against What I am. I need to let go of judgment. I need to be willing to make no decision on my own and choose instead to open my mind and heart to Love’s inspiration. It is Love that will show me the truth behind all appearances. Love will show me that in truth there is nothing to judge, for there is no “other.” Love will show me that I remain united with all that is real.

Today I choose to hold my mind open to be guided by the Self that has never changed. This is how I will remember Who I am.

Mary:
The question that helps me remember the truth when I feel in a place of doubt is, “What am I and where am I in truth?”

I find opening to Holy Spirit’s answer very helpful in returning me to a state of mind that is truly healing. When it comes down to it, this is what I really want. This is how I have a happy day. In truth, “What am I and where am I?” brings me back to where I need to be. This is an invitation to the Holy Spirit to help me remember that I am Spirit. There is only one Mind and that is the one Mind of Love.

Letting this truth of what I am and where I am return brings me peace and quiet inner joy. My practice today is to ask myself frequently, “What am I and where am I in truth?”
