Accepting the Gift of Joy

The Holy Spirit is in you in a very literal sense. His is the Voice that calls you back to where you were before and will be again. It is possible even in this world to hear only that Voice and no other. It takes effort and great willingness to learn. It is the final lesson that I learned, and God’s Sons are as equal as learners as they are as Sons. (A Course in Miracles, T-5.II.3:7-11)

Today we make the choice to hear Holy Spirit’s Voice all through the day. Today we are vigilant for the truth. Today we receive truth and give what we receive. The whole Sonship is equally God’s one Son, and we are willing to recognize this truth today.

The Holy Spirit’s Voice is the Call to joy. If we want to be happy, we must be willing to hear this Call to joy. Today’s practice of listening to the Holy Spirit’s Voice is the practice of receiving God’s gift of joy. It is the practice that leads us to perfect happiness.

Each step we take in opening to the Call to joy motivates us to be willing to receive more. As we receive the joy, we naturally want to extend it to all, for joy cannot be contained. Today’s practice is a step toward accepting the gift of joy that is our inheritance as God’s Son.
