We Are Forever Safe in God’s Love

The holy Christ is born in me today.

Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. ²Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born. ³Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. ⁴Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. ⁵And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. ⁶Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.

Your Son is welcome, Father. ²He has come to save me from the evil self I made. ³He is the Self that You have given me. ⁴He is but what I really am in truth. ⁵He is the Son You love above all things. ⁶He is my Self as You created me. ⁷It is not Christ that can be crucified. ⁸Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son. Christ is God’s Son, the extension of His Love. We are God’s Son, at one with Him in His Love. As we let go of our mistaken identity, we awaken to the fact that we were created by Love as Love.

This Love is invulnerable because Love does not change. The image of a separate self we made has no effect on the Self we are and have always been.

Today we stand before our Creator, bathed in His Love. In the presence of His Light, the false self-image is dispelled. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we accept His gift that keeps us forever safe. We are truly blessed.

Making Way for Love’s Return

Where darkness was I look upon the light.

Father, our eyes are opening at last. ²Your holy world awaits us, as our sight is finally restored and we can see. ³We thought we suffered. ⁴But we had forgot the Son whom You created. ⁵Now we see that darkness is our own imagining, and light is there for us to look upon. ⁶Christ’s vision changes darkness into light, for fear must disappear when love has come. ⁷Let me forgive Your holy world today, that I may look upon its holiness and understand it but reflects my own.

Our Love awaits us as we go to Him, and walks beside us showing us the way. ²He fails in nothing. ³He the End we seek, and He the Means by which we go to Him. (A Course in Miracles, W-302. See also ACIM Lesson 302 Insights.)

Christ’s vision sees past the loveless world to the eternal presence of Love. While judgment hides Love from our awareness, forgiveness makes way for Love’s return. We have a singular mission in this world: Forgive the world for all we thought it was. When that mission is fulfilled, we will awaken to our Home in the Heaven of God’s Love.

To fulfill our mission, we ask the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and actions.  We are grateful for our mighty Companion Whose vision is clear and Who knows the way to our Home in Love.

Gratitude for Love’s Blessings

I love You, Father, and I love Your Son.

My gratitude permits my love to be accepted without fear. ²And thus am I restored to my reality at last. ³All that intruded on my holy sight forgiveness takes away. ⁴And I draw near the end of senseless journeys, mad careers and artificial values. ⁵I accept instead what God establishes as mine, sure that in that alone I will be saved; sure that I go through fear to meet my Love.

Father, I come to You today, because I would not follow any way but Yours. ²You are beside me. ³Certain is Your way. ⁴And I am grateful for Your holy gifts of certain sanctuary, and escape from everything that would obscure my love for God my Father and His holy Son. Judgment blocks our awareness of Love. Forgiveness takes away the barriers. We cannot judge and experience Love’s oneness at the same time. When we forgive, we take away the ego’s mechanism for maintaining separation. What remains is the certainty of God’s Love.

Gratitude comes with forgiveness. With the barriers to Love removed, Love fills our awareness. The joy that comes with it creates an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The practice of counting our blessings helps to open the door to Love’s expression. Our true blessings are always extensions of Love.

If we feel blessed because we have more of something than someone else, this is an ego judgment that continues its endeavor to maintain separation. We are always truly blessed because God’s Love never ends. We accept His blessing by forgiving the wish for specialness. With forgiveness comes joy and peace, and we know we are truly blessed.

Learning from Our Perceptions

Let not my world obscure the sight of Christ.

I can obscure my holy sight, if I intrude my world upon it. ²Nor can I behold the holy sights Christ looks upon, unless it is His vision that I use. ³Perception is a mirror, not a fact. ⁴And what I look on is my state of mind, reflected outward. ⁵I would bless the world by looking on it through the eyes of Christ. ⁶And I will look upon the certain signs that all my sins have been forgiven me.

You lead me from the darkness to the light; from sin to holiness. ²Let me forgive, and thus receive salvation for the world. ³It is Your gift, my Father, given me to offer to Your holy Son, that he may find again the memory of You, and of Your Son as You created him. Our perceptions are always a reflection of what we believe we are — our state of mind. This means every perception teaches us. Either it reinforces our belief in being separate or it teaches us to see the Light of Christ in our brother. What our perceptions teach us depends on which guide we use to interpret our perceptions.

The ego always uses our perceptions to teach us that we are separate. The Holy Spirit offers us another way of seeing, Christ’s vision, which sees the holiness in everyone; the reality of Love and nothing else. The ego’s guidance always leads to pain and suffering, fear and guilt. The Holy Spirit always leads to salvation from the ego and the recognition that only Love is real.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s guidance, for we would see with Christ’s vision and recognize that we are united as God’s one Son, eternally at Home in His Love.

Releasing the Past to Return to Love

Creation’s freedom promises my own.

The end of dreams is promised me, because God’s Son is not abandoned by His Love. ²Only in dreams is there a time when he appears to be in prison, and awaits a future freedom, if it be at all. ³Yet in reality his dreams are gone, with truth established in their place. ⁴And now is freedom his already. ⁵Should I wait in chains which have been severed for release, when God is offering me freedom now?

I will accept Your promises today, and give my faith to them. ²My Father loves the Son Whom He created as His Own. ³Would You withhold the gifts You gave to me? (A Course in Miracles, W-279. See also ACIM Lesson 279 Insights.)

This dream is a self-made prison. We already have the key to unlock the door. Only our wish for specialness keeps the door locked. Now is the time to forgive that wish. Now is the time we are free. Our imprisonment is maintained by our attachment to the past. The ego uses the past to justify the locked prison door; to justify guilt, shame, anger and fear.

As long as we pay attention to the ego, we will defend our imprisonment. Forgiveness is the key. As we forgive the past, we recognize that we are free to be Love now. We ask the Holy Spirit today to help us forgive our mistaken beliefs so that we may dwell in the now moment of God’s Love.

Accepting God’s World As Our Own

Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. ²Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. ³This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. ⁴Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. ⁵Let me see Your world instead of mine. ⁶And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. ⁷Father, I will not judge Your world today.

God’s world is happy. ²Those who look on it can only add their joy to it, and bless it as a cause of further joy in them. ³We wept because we did not understand. ⁴But we have learned the world we saw was false, and we will look upon God’s world today. We make a world of fear and guilt with our judgments. These judgments come from the split mind, which does not know what Love is. It does not know what Reality is. Love does not judge. It sees only Itself in all things because Love is one. This world of Love is God’s World. It is our Home where we can rest in His peace and experience His joy.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us recognize our judgments and let them go. We want to see God’s happy world and know It as our own.

Following the Guide to Lasting Happiness

I place the future in the Hands of God.

Accept today’s idea, and you have passed all anxiety, all pits of hell, all blackness of depression, thoughts of sin, and devastation brought about by guilt. ²Accept today’s idea, and you have released the world from all imprisonment by loosening the heavy chains that locked the door to freedom on it. ³You are saved, and your salvation thus becomes the gift you give the world, because you have received.

In no one instant is depression felt, or pain experienced or loss perceived. ²In no one instant sorrow can be set upon a throne, and worshipped faithfully. ³In no one instant can one even die. ⁴And so each instant given unto God in passing, with the next one given Him already, is a time of your release from sadness, pain and even death itself.

Release the future. ²For the past is gone, and what is present, freed from its bequest of grief and misery, of pain and loss, becomes the instant in which time escapes the bondage of illusions where it runs its pitiless, inevitable course. ³Then is each instant which was slave to time transformed into a holy instant, when the light that was kept hidden in God’s Son is freed to bless the world. ⁴Now is he free, and all his glory shines upon a world made free with him, to share his holiness. The ego wants us dead, its ultimate “proof” that separation is real. All the pain and suffering it leads us through is all intended to lead us to the final proof.

On the other hand, God’s Will for us, His Son, is eternal Life held happily in changeless Love. His Will for us is happiness and peace. Putting our future in His hands is certainly a better choice than giving any credence to the ego.

To guide us to the future God wills for us, He gave us the Holy Spirit. When we let the Holy Spirit guide our thoughts and actions, He will guide us safely through and out of the ego’s thought system of separation.

Because the Holy Spirit is God’s Teacher in our mind, when we put Him in charge, we are putting the future in God’s Hands. Today we choose to follow the Teacher Who leads us Home.
