Joining with Holy Spirit to See God’s Light in Everyone

Consider once again your special function. One is given you to see in [your brother] his perfect sinlessness. And you will ask no sacrifice of him because you could not will he suffer loss. The miracle of justice you call forth will rest on you as surely as on him. Nor will the Holy Spirit be content until it is received by everyone. For what you give to Him is everyone’s, and by your giving it can He ensure that everyone receives it equally. (A Course in Miracles T-26.II.6:5-10)

When we join with Holy Spirit, we see past bodies to the universal Light in everyone. Seeing with Holy Spirit is our true function and our practice for today. Seeing with Holy Spirit brings happiness and peace because we recognize everyone as our dear Friend.

ACIM tells us that seeing through the eyes of the ego (separation) is our only problem and that seeing through the vision of the Holy Spirit (oneness) is the solution. We free ourselves from the limitations of the ego as we are willing to practice receiving the vision of oneness throughout the day. The vision we receive we give, and the vision that we give we receive. As we see our brothers truly, we learn of the truth in ourselves.

We Choose Between Illusions and the Truth

My holy brother, think of this awhile: The world you see does nothing. It has no effects at all. It merely represents your thoughts. And it will change entirely as you elect to change your mind, and choose the joy of God as what you really want. Your Self is radiant in this holy joy, unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable, forever and forever. And would you deny a little corner of your mind its own inheritance, and keep it as a hospital for pain; a sickly place where living things must come at last to die?

Let our gratitude unto our Teacher fill our hearts, as we are free to choose our joy instead of pain, our holiness in place of sin, the peace of God instead of conflict, and the light of Heaven for the darkness of the world. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.190.6,11:2)

Today we open to the inspiration of our inner Teacher… We loosen our grip on what we thought was true… We accept the peace that heals our thoughts of conflict and belief in limitation and pain… We choose to see beyond the illusions of separation to the truth of Love’s all inclusive oneness…

We have the power to choose to accept our oneness with Love instead of denying it. With this choice we set ourselves free to be the Love we were created to be. It is the choice for happiness instead of pain.

Accepting Holy Spirit in the Now Moment

Our opportunity today is to practice opening our minds to Holy Spirit’s guidance in each present moment as we go through our day. We only have right now. The point of power is in the present. Every now moment we have the power to step back from illusions and receive the truth. Every now moment we have the power to accept and receive Holy Spirit’s gift of peace.

Receiving Holy Spirit’s peace brings inspiration with it in how to be truly helpful. This is our practice for today. And we give thanks that the Holy Spirit is there to inspire us with the truth all through the day.

Reconnecting with Our Reality

Whatever I see reflects my thoughts. It is my thoughts that tell me where I am and what I am. The fact that I see a world in which there is suffering and loss and death shows me that I am seeing only the representation of my insane thoughts, and am not allowing my real thoughts to cast their beneficent light on what I see. Yet God’s way is sure. The images I have made cannot prevail against Him because it is not my will that they do so. My will is His, and I will place no other gods before Him. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.53.5:2-7)

By allowing ourselves to tune in to peace, remember peace, we reconnect with our real thoughts to see a real world. When we disconnect from Reality, we are out of peace, in chaos. We are fearful because nothing is dependable and we feel vulnerable. We can pull ourselves out of fear by tuning in to peace and reconnecting with our real Thoughts, the Thoughts of the Holy Spirit. We remember that we are in the Mind of our Source, and that our will is His Will.

Today we are determined to maintain our awareness of Who we are — the Son of God in the Mind of God.

Remembering

The Holy Spirit is ever present, ready to help us remember Who we are. As we accept His help, we experience the blessing of our one Self, joined with our Creator and all our brothers. As we remember Who we are, we look upon our brothers and see the blessing of our one Self reflected back to us.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude, overflowing and reaching out to bless without limit. As we remember Who we are, all fear disappears for we remember we are one Self and nothing is outside our Self. As we remember Who we are, we are at peace, for that is the condition of the Self we share in God. As we remember Who we are, all barriers to Love fall away and we return to our Home in God’s Love.

We sing a song of gratitude that God never changed His Mind about us, holding a place of Love for us where we could return and remember.

Love Sees No Differences

Your brother is your friend because his Father created him like you. There is no difference. You have been given to your brother that love might be extended, not cut off from him. What you keep is lost to you. God gave you and your brother Himself, and to remember this is now the only purpose that you share. And so it is the only one you have. (A Course in Miracles T-24.I.7:1-6)

Our only purpose is to remember that we, including all our brothers, have all of God’s Love. There is nothing else. The only reason we do not experience this is because we are trying to substitute specialness for God’s Love. It is our belief that it is possible to make anything that could substitute for God’s Love that we must let go or forgive. This belief underlies the entire world of images. It is why we feel vulnerable because we believe we are different. Others who are different from us could potentially harm us. This is a made up story that we believe in and so it seems real.

We need Help from a Source that does not buy into our beliefs to help us get out of the sense of lack, loneliness and loss that comes with this belief. God gave us this Help, which we call the Holy Spirit. To let go of the mistaken belief that keeps God’s Love unknown to us, we need to be vigilant and bring all our thoughts of fear and guilt, weakness and vulnerability to the Holy Spirit. If we are willing, He will show us that they are based on nothing and help us see that we already have all that is real.

We have all of God’s Love, which is all that we need and all that we are. As this reality dawns upon our minds, peace flows through us like a river, sweeping us into the eternal calm of Heaven. This is our practice today.

Let in the Light

Your Father loves you. All the world of pain is not His Will. Forgive yourself the thought He wanted this for you. Then let the Thought with which He has replaced all your mistakes enter the darkened places of your mind that thought the thoughts that never were His Will.

This part belongs to God, as does the rest. It does not think its solitary thoughts, and make them real by hiding them from Him. Let in the light, and you will look upon no obstacle to what He wills for you. Open your secrets to His kindly light, and see how bright this light still shines in you.” (A Course in Miracles W-pI.99.7:3-8:4)

This world of separate bodies is not God’s Will. In truth we all live in the one Mind of Love. In truth there is no past and future, where separate things are in a constant state of change. In truth there are no differences, no forms that are born as separate entities and then die. All these are just mistaken ideas.

Our practice today is return to the Light of truth. Today we bring all these false ideas to the Holy Spirit to be undone. Today we let the Holy Spirit shine His Light on all our fearful thoughts. We let the Holy Spirit return our minds to the truth that we are still as God created us. We are still one in God’s Love. Nothing has really happened to change God’s one Son. Today we let in the Light of truth and rest in God’s peace.
