Daily Inspiration for Living A Course in Miracles

By definition, honest thoughts must be true. Because only Love is real, honest thoughts must be thoughts of Love. That is why honest thoughts are the thoughts we share with God. Honest thoughts are of Love and extend Love.

As we let go of deceptive thoughts that seem to show us a world outside of separate things, we welcome the unifying thought of Love. It is these united thoughts of Love that are the holy messengers of God Himself. As we let these thoughts of Love flow through us, we see only Love and experience Love’s blessing.

Our practice today is to let Love guide all our seeing so that we may look past all appearances to the truth of the reality of Love. Here we find the peace of God.

Accepting the Love of the Holy Spirit

When we judge we make a barrier against God’s Love, for Love does not condemn. Judgment automatically brings guilt with it and guilt brings fear of Love.

Because the Holy Spirit is the Voice for Love, when we feel guilty, we are afraid of the Holy Spirit’s guidance and will not accept it into our awareness. The choice to receive the Holy Spirit’s guidance is the choice to let go of guilt and welcome Love. This is why it is essential that we consistently practice bringing all our guilt, all our judgments, all our fears, to the Holy Spirit and ask for His help to let them go.

This is how we forgive. We need only bring these issues to the Holy Spirit with willingness to receive His loving correction. The Holy Spirit does the rest. This willingness clears the way for us to exchange the thought system of guilt and fear for the awareness of the Love we are eternally. It is the exchange of hell for Heaven, of depression for joy.

Today our practice is to be vigilant for the thoughts that are barriers to Love and bring them to the Holy Spirit in our minds to receive His vision that will aways show us that only Love is real.

Remembering We Rest in God

“I rest in God.” This thought will bring to you the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and the happiness you seek. “I rest in God.” This thought has power to wake the sleeping truth in you, whose vision sees beyond appearances to that same truth in everyone and everything there is.

“The world is born again each time you rest, and hourly remember that you came to bring the peace of God into the world, that it might take its rest along with you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.109.2:1-4;6:2)

We rest in God by accepting the truth of our Being. We were created by God, at one with Him and remain in Him. The truth is that we always rest in God, whether we are aware of it or not.

Affirming, “I rest in God,” is reminding ourselves of our natural eternal state. In this state we recognize that appearances are nothing and have no effect on What we are. Thus our peace is undisturbed and everyone is recognized as one with us. We welcome everyone into our boundless Love because they are part of the one Self we share.

This recognition heals the troubled mind that thought it was separate and alone. It releases all guilt and fear and returns us to the memory of our oneness with God, our Source. We experience the peace and joy of God.

Letting Peace Replace Conflict

We can choose to experience God’s peace all through the day today… We can choose to experience God’s Love all through the day today…

We do this by reinforcing the habit of stepping back from from what we have done in the past. We can step back from going on ego’s automatic pilot. We can be kind and gentle with ourselves by paying attention to our state of mind as we ago through our day.

Are the thoughts going through our minds reflecting the Holy Spirit’s peace, or are they reflecting conflict and limitation? If we notice the latter, we can reinforce our commitment to returning to God’s Will for us and every brother. We can to return to the purifying waters of God’s peace. We can return to simple, uncomplicated Love.

We give God’s Will a chance today by letting peace replace conflict all through the day.

Accepting the Light We Are

[The idea that you are the light of the world] is the perfect answer to all illusions, and therefore to all temptation. It brings all the images you have made about yourself to the truth, and helps you depart in peace, unburdened and certain of your purpose. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.61.4:2-3)

The truth in all of us is that we are the Light of the world because we are God’s Son. We are unaware of this Light when we believe we are a body, separate from God and each other.

Today’s practice is to remind ourselves frequently that, as God’s Son, we are the Light of the world. As we accept this fact, we release the false images of separation and the guilt that comes with them. We free ourselves to remember that we are Love and nothing else. We experience the deep peace that is our natural state in Heaven.

Today Is Dedicated to Accepting the Truth

Today is a day of special dedication. We take a stand on but one side today. We side with truth and let illusions go. We will not vacillate between the two, but take a firm position with the One. We dedicate ourselves to truth today, and to salvation as God planned it be. We will not argue it is something else. We will not seek for it where it is not. In gladness we accept it as it is, and take the part assigned to us by God. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.98.1)

We let the veil of illusions be lifted today. We walk hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, receiving a changed perception as we go through our day. We receive the Holy Spirit’s peace, and give as we receive. We receive the certainty that we are still as God created us, along with every brother. We let ourselves be carried by Holy Spirit through the day, knowing our safety and invulnerability are assured. We let ourselves feel the happiness and joy that come as we take the part assigned to us each moment of this day. We have a mighty purpose to fulfill — to accept the truth today.

Seeking Happiness Where It Can Be Found

Everyone wants to be happy. Every day we search for happiness. Yet it seems to elude us. This is because we are following the direction of the ego, which will always tell us to search where it cannot be found. But there is another Guide Whose purpose is to lead us back to Heaven, where we will find the happiness we seek.

Forgiveness is the key to happiness. If we were as diligent about following the Holy Spirit’s guidance instead of the ego’s, our days would be filled with joy. We would be shown the Light of Love everywhere instead of the darkness of separation and fear. We would recognize our brothers as our dearest and trusted Friends. We would feel our oneness as we see the innocence in our brothers and ourselves.

Once again, our practice today is to hold our minds open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and vision to let our vain imaginings be replaced by the Holy Spirit’s perception of the truth in us and all our brothers. Thus will we move forward on our quest to return to the happiness given us in our creation.
