Take Every Problem to Him

God offers you the means to see [your brother’s] innocence. Would it be fair to punish him because you will not look at what is there to see? Each time you keep a problem for yourself to solve, or judge that it is one that has no resolution, you have made it great, and past the hope of healing. (A Course in Miracles, T-26.II.5:5-7)

It is our insistence that the images of the world are real that stands in the way of our healing. These images were made to make it seem that we actually have separated from our Source, and are therefore weak and capable of loss. It makes problems seem real and unresolvable. This is a self deception that keeps us limited and fearful. It need not be.

We have the means within our minds to let this self deception be undone. Yet we must be willing to bring each of these deceiving images, these mistaken beliefs, to the Voice for Love in our minds with willingness to receive Its gentle correction of our misperception.

This practice is the key to happiness and peace. It is the means by which we exchange hell for Heaven, fear for Love. Today our practice is to interpret no image in the world on our own and to welcome the Holy Spirit’s interpretation instead.

Willingness to See We Are One with Our Brother in Love

No one can look upon the fear of God unterrified, unless he has accepted the Atonement and learned illusions are not real.

To look upon the fear of God does need some preparation. Only the sane can look on stark insanity and raving madness with pity and compassion, but not with fear. For only if they share in [madness] does it seem fearful, and you do share in it until you look upon your brother with perfect faith and love and tenderness. Before complete forgiveness you still stand unforgiving. You are afraid of God because you fear your brother. Those you do not forgive you fear. And no one reaches love with fear beside him. (A Course in Miracles, T-19.IV.i.9:1;11:1-7)

The illusion of separation is the effect of rejecting our oneness in God’s Love. The desire for specialness is the rejection of oneness. This desire produces the illusion that we are separate and alone. Within this delusion, we think we are unique individuals with private thoughts we do not share. As long as we identify with this false image of ourselves, we will fear the oneness of Love, because it would mean the end of the false identity we have claimed as our own. Yet the only way out of fear is to let go of this false identity and claim our real Identity as Love in the one Mind of Love.

Within the framework of the illusion of separation, we cannot find our way back to Love’s oneness. We need our true Self, our inner Teacher, to lead us out. Our inner Teacher leads us out through forgiving, or letting go of, the dream of separation. Our brother becomes our savior as we are willing to let the veil be lifted to see the innocent face of Christ in place of our delusions of separation and guilt. Our inner Teacher shows us the face of Christ as we are willing to receive It. This is our practice for today.

Returning to the Center of Peace Within

In silence, close your eyes upon the world that does not understand forgiveness, and seek sanctuary in the quiet place where thoughts are changed and false beliefs laid by. …Be glad to hear the Voice of truth and healing speak to you, and you will understand the words He speaks, and recognize He speaks your words to you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.126.10:1,3-4)

Our right mind is a place of peace that remains eternally joined with the Mind of Love. It is undisturbed by the chaos of the ego thought system of separation. Our right mind is a place of refuge that we can go to in any moment to be reminded of the truth and to be healed of the false ideas that bring us fear and guilt.

The practice of going to this center of peace within to let our minds be healed is how we let go of judgment and guilt. It is here that we are able to give and receive the gift of forgiveness. It is here that we are freed from the self imposed limits that come with the belief in separation. This is our practice for today.

Today We Accept Love as Love Is

The body cannot know. And while you limit your awareness to its tiny senses, you will not see the grandeur that surrounds you. God cannot come into a body, nor can you join Him there. Limits on love will always seem to shut Him out, and keep you apart from Him. The body is a tiny fence around a little part of a glorious and complete idea.

It is only the awareness of the body that makes love seem limited. For the body is a limit on love. The belief in limited love was its origin, and it was made to limit the unlimited. Think not that this is merely allegorical, for it was made to limit you. Can you who see yourself within a body know yourself as an idea? (A Course in Miracles, T-18.VIII.2:1-5;1:1-5)

Our Self is the one Thought in the Mind of Love. This Thought is united with Love, encompassing all Love. There is nothing outside this universal Love, for there is nothing outside God. This is our reality. We are the one idea of Love in the one Mind of Love. This one idea is changeless and eternal. This one idea of Love is What we all are.

Returning to our Identity as Love is our one goal, whether we realize it or not. Today our practice is to let Love be. We hand over our belief in anything other than the oneness of Love to the Holy Spirit to be undone. We do this by frequently stepping back from our doing and going to the center of peace within, the quiet center of our being. There we are returned to the truth and accept Love as Love is.

Joy Comes with Following Holy Spirit’s Lead

Our dedication today is to follow Holy Spirit’s lead. He will always lead us to a happy outcome because He will always lead us to Love. In Love we remember God and we remember that God created the Self we are. In the unity of that one Self, we know that we are perfectly safe and have everything we need. We welcome our brothers who are one with us in this Self. As the Holy Spirit leads us in Love to Love, we accept the blessing of being and extending Love. There is no greater joy than this.

Seeing the Reality of Love

Let Him be Judge… of everything that seems to happen to you in this world. His lessons will enable you to bridge the gap between illusions and the truth.

He will remove all faith that you have placed in pain, disaster, suffering and loss. He gives you vision which can look beyond these grim appearances, and can behold the gentle face of Christ in all of them. You will no longer doubt that only good can come to you who are beloved of God, for He will judge all happenings, and teach the single lesson that they all contain. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.151.9:6-7;10:1-3)

We seem to be in the world, perceiving through the body’s senses. The key to waking up is not to try to interpret what the body’s senses show us. They are false witnesses and cannot be correctly interpreted from within the thought system that made the body.

As we practice keeping our mind open to the Holy Spirit’s interpretation in all things, we will be shown the truth beyond appearances. We will see the Love and innocence in all our brothers; we will see the face of Christ. The Holy Spirit’s vision will disregard what is not true and bring our thoughts to the truth that only Love is real.

With His guidance, all our doing in the world will be inspired by Love, not fear. We will learn of our innocence and see it, too, in our brothers. With this practice, each day becomes a joyous experience of reflecting Love in the world. Each seeming obstacle or disturbance becomes another opportunity to let ourselves be taught to look past the appearance to the reality of Love.

Seeing Our Brother’s Changeless Reality

The Christ in him is perfect.…

This will you look upon when you decide there is not one appearance you would hold in place of what your brother really is. Let no temptation to prefer a dream allow uncertainty to enter here. Be not made guilty and afraid when you are tempted by a dream of what he is. But do not give it power to replace the changeless in him in your sight of him. There is no false appearance but will fade, if you request a miracle instead. There is no pain from which he is not free, if you would have him be but what he is. Why should you fear to see the Christ in him? You but behold yourself in what you see. As he is healed are you made free of guilt, for his appearance is your own to you. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.VIII.5:5;6:1-9)

Today is dedicated to accepting Holy Spirit’s peace and quietness… As we are willing to follow Holy Spirit’s lead, we are led past images of constant change to the changeless reality that is the truth of every brother… We are led to the truth of simple, uncomplicated Love… We see our brothers as one with us in the Self that Love created… Here is where we find our true eternal happiness. And we give thanks.
