Choose Once Again

Today we read in the last section of the Text that we do not need to be afraid of temptation. Rather we simply need to see it as another opportunity to choose again. This attitude neutralizes the ego’s attempt to use temptation to foster more guilt. I don’t need to feel guilty because I relapsed into an old habit. Instead I can be grateful that I have another chance to choose differently. That’s what time is for now.

Each time I take the opportunity to choose differently, I weaken the old habits that keep me identified with separation. Today is another day to practice choosing peace instead of conflict, seeing innocence instead of guilt, extending Love instead of reacting with fear. What a great opportunity today is!

As I go through my day, it is helpful for me to remember that I am always choosing between joining either with the ego or the Holy Spirit, the false mind or the truth, separation or oneness. Once I recognize that I am choosing, it becomes easier to open my mind to the truth. I can tell if I am opening my mind to the truth by the level of peace I experience.

When I realize I have once again jumped into the false mind, instead of feeling guilty, I can see it as another opportunity to choose once again, this time with Holy Spirit. Looking at it this way, today becomes an awesome opportunity for experiencing God’s peace and happiness. What a wonderful practice I have before me today!
