Sin [separation from Love] is the only thought that makes the goal of God seem unattainable. ²What else could blind us to the obvious, and make the strange and the distorted seem more clear? ³What else but sin [lack of Love] engenders our attacks? ⁴What else but sin could be the source of guilt, demanding punishment and suffering? ⁵And what but sin could be the source of fear, obscuring God’s creation; giving love the attributes of fear and of attack?
Father, I would not be insane today. ²I would not be afraid of love, nor seek for refuge in its opposite. ³For love can have no opposite. ⁴You are the Source of everything there is. ⁵And everything that is remains with You, and You with it. (A Course in Miracles, W-259.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 259 Insights.)
With belief in separation comes the need to project. Projection is necessary to assuage the guilt that comes with believing we have separated from the Love of our Source. These projections make the world we see. But what we perceive is frightening because in some way it represents the thought of attack that made a loveless world.
Fortunately the belief in separation can only seem real in a dream. And we can wake up from this dream that denies Love. We can choose Love all the time. Today we practice choosing Love whenever our peace is disturbed. With Love, we will see that we remain held safely within Its Arms, along with every brother.
Today we choose Love as our Guide. With this Guide, we let go of fear and greet the world with kindness and joy.

Christ’s vision has one law. ²It does not look upon a body, and mistake it for the Son whom God created. ³It beholds a light beyond the body; an idea beyond what can be touched, a purity undimmed by errors, pitiful mistakes, and fearful thoughts of guilt from dreams of sin. ⁴It sees no separation. ⁵And [Christ’s vision] looks on everyone, on every circumstance, all happenings and all events, without the slightest fading of the light it sees.
This can be taught; and must be taught by all who would achieve it. ²[Christ’s vision] requires but the recognition that the world can not give anything that faintly can compare with this in value; nor set up a goal that does not merely disappear when this has been perceived. ³And this you give today: See no one as a body. ⁴Greet him as the Son of God he is, acknowledging that he is one with you in holiness.
Thus are his sins forgiven him, for Christ has vision that has power to overlook them all.
…in your brother you but see yourself. ⁴If he be lost in sin, so must you be; if you see light in him, your sins have been forgiven by yourself. ⁵Each brother whom you meet today provides another chance to let Christ’s vision shine on you, and offer you the peace of God. (A Course in Miracles, W-158.7:1–9:1;10:3-5. See also ACIM Lesson 158 Insights.)
It sees only the reality of Love. Today we practice pausing to welcome peace in our mind. It is from a mind at peace that the Light of Love shines brightly, allowing Christ’s vision to look beyond worldly appearances.
As we let Love Light our way, we see our unity with every brother. Seeming conflicts fade, for Christ’s vision shows us we are all united in the oneness of God’s Love. With Christ’s vision, we see Love reflected back to us by every brother. The value of individuality is let go and the joy of joining in Love takes its place.

The real world holds a counterpart for each unhappy thought reflected in your world; a sure correction for the sights of fear and sounds of battle which your world contains. ²The real world shows a world seen differently, through quiet eyes and with a mind at peace. ³Nothing but rest is there. ⁴There are no cries of pain and sorrow heard, for nothing there remains outside forgiveness. ⁵And the sights are gentle. ⁶Only happy sights and sounds can reach the mind that has forgiven itself.
The real world is the symbol that the dream of sin and guilt is over, and God’s Son no longer sleeps. ²His waking eyes perceive the sure reflection of his Father’s Love; the certain promise that he is redeemed. ³The real world signifies the end of time, for its perception makes time purposeless.
…as we look upon a world forgiven, it is He Who calls to us and comes to take us home, reminding us of our Identity which our forgiveness has restored to us. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.8.2;4;5:4)
Forgiveness is the answer to every problem we perceive in the world. The payoff is spectacular. It brings us perfect peace, freedom from all pain and sorrow and joy beyond description. Perhaps the greatest benefit of all is the realization that we live and have our being in Love.
Forgiveness seems difficult only because we have convinced ourselves that there is something else we can have than the real world, which we value more. But only in a dream can this seem to be true.
We have help to forgive, given us by our Creator, Who holds a place in Heaven for us, His beloved Son. Today we are vigilant for thoughts of lack of Love and we ask the Holy Spirit to help us heal these fear-based thoughts. With our open mind, we welcome His vision to help us see with forgiving eyes.
With His help, we will see the presence of Love. Where Love seems absent, we will recognize it as our call for Love, and let Him answer the call with Love. With this practice, this day can be a beautiful day of extending and being Love.

My holiness shines bright and clear today.
Today I wake with joy, expecting but the happy things of God to come to me. ²I ask but them to come, and realize my invitation will be answered by the thoughts to which it has been sent by me. ³And I will ask for only joyous things the instant I accept my holiness. ⁴For what would be the use of pain to me, what purpose would my suffering fulfill, and how would grief and loss avail me if insanity departs from me today, and I accept my holiness instead?
Father, my holiness is Yours. ²Let me rejoice in it, and through forgiveness be restored to sanity. ³Your Son is still as You created him. ⁴My holiness is part of me, and also part of You. ⁵And what can alter Holiness Itself? (A Course in Miracles, W-285. See also ACIM Lesson 285 Insights.)
It is up to us to let our holiness shine bright and clear. We do this by forgiving the beliefs that identify us with the ego. We have a sense of loss when we deny our unity with God’s Love. This loss is manifested in our experience as sadness, grief, fear, irritation and anger. All these emotions are signs that we are not letting our holiness shine through. We are not letting the Light our true Self shine through.
Today we ask the Holy Spirit, our Mighty Companion, to help us recognize our moments of denying Love. We want His help to let those mistaken thoughts go. We want to see the Love in our brothers. We want to see the Love we are. We are grateful that we have been given the means to let go of our beliefs and experience the knowing that we are Love and nothing else.

I will accept Atonement for myself.
Here is the end of choice. ²For here we come to a decision to accept ourselves as God created us. ³And what is choice except uncertainty of what we are? ⁴There is no doubt that is not rooted here. ⁵There is no question but reflects this one. ⁶There is no conflict that does not entail the single, simple question, “What am I?”
Yet who could ask this question except one who has refused to recognize himself?
“Nothing the world believes is true. ²It is a place whose purpose is to be a home where those who claim they do not know themselves can come to question what it is they are. ³And they will come again until the time Atonement is accepted, and they learn it is impossible to doubt yourself, and not to be aware of what you are.
Only acceptance can be asked of you, for what you are is certain.
…our mission is:
³I will accept Atonement for myself,
for I remain as God created me.⁴We have not lost the knowledge that God gave to us when He created us like Him. ⁵We can remember it for everyone, for in creation are all minds as one. (A Course in Miracles, W-139.1:1–2:1;7:1–8:1;11:2-5. See also ACIM Lesson 139 Insights.)
It is difficult to fathom that nothing the world believes is true. Yet acceptance of this fact brings release from fear and guilt. It returns the oneness of Love to our troubled minds. This seems to be a radical change of mind. We cannot make this change on our own. Everything we perceive in the world seems to make the world real and true.
We have been given Help that comes from beyond the world we perceive. The Holy Spirit can see what we perceive, but does not believe it. From this standpoint He can help us recognize our mistaken beliefs and see them as errors that need correction. With this recognition He offers His vision of the real world, where the oneness of Love is seen everywhere.
Seeming attacks are recognized as calls for Love because they come from a loveless perception. With His help, we answer the call with Love, and learn that we have all Love as ours. This is how we accept Atonement for our self.

⁵Projection makes perception, and you cannot see beyond it. ⁶Again and again have you attacked your brother, because you saw in him a shadow figure in your private world. ⁷And thus it is you must attack yourself first, for what you attack is not in others. ⁸Its only reality is in your own mind, and by attacking others you are literally attacking what is not there.
…love cannot abide in a world apart, where when it comes it is not recognized. ³If you see your own hatred as your brother, you are not seeing him.
…you see only your own split mind everywhere you look. ⁶God calls you and you do not hear, for you are preoccupied with your own voice. ⁷And the vision of Christ is not in your sight, for you look upon yourself alone.
Do not seek vision through your eyes, for you made your way of seeing that you might see in darkness, and in this you are deceived. ²Beyond this darkness, and yet still within you, is the vision of Christ, Who looks on all in light. ³Your “vision” comes from fear, as His from love. ⁴And He sees for you, as your witness to the real world. (A Course in Miracles, T-13.V.3:5-8;5:2-3;6:5-7;9:1-4. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
The body and what it sees seems so real. It is made by the ego to deceive. It helps keep the ego in the forefront of our split mind. But it does not show us the truth.
The key to relief from fear and guilt is willingness to accept Christ’s vision in place of the body’s seeing. The body’s eyes cannot see Love’s Light. But the Christ in our mind sees the Light of Love everywhere, for it sees only Reality.
Today we choose to let Love guide all our seeing. As we accept It’s Light, we see a world in which we are one with all, united in God’s Love. It is a world of peace and happiness. This is the world we would see today.

Let me remember what my purpose is.
If I forget my goal I can be but confused, unsure of what I am, and thus conflicted in my actions. ²No one can serve contradicting goals and serve them well. ³Nor can he function without deep distress and great depression. ⁴Let us therefore be determined to remember what we want today, that we may unify our thoughts and actions meaningfully, and achieve only what God would have us do this day.
Father, forgiveness is Your chosen means for our salvation. ²Let us not forget today that we can have no will but Yours. ³And thus our purpose must be Yours as well, if we would reach the peace You will for us. (A Course in Miracles, W-257. See also ACIM Lesson 257 Insights.)
Today we are reminded of our purpose in this world. We need to let our perceptions be corrected with the Holy Spirit’s help. True perception is seen through true forgiveness. Forgiveness lets Love enlighten our perceptions. In this Light, the illusions of differences and conflict are dispelled and we see our unity with All That is. In this unity, we remember our unity in God. In this unity we know we are blessed and whole. We share that blessing by extending Love to all.
Today is a day of forgiveness to welcome the Love we are.
