Nothing Is Ever Worth Getting Our Knickers in a Twist

The ego believes all form is deadly serious, because if form is let go, the ego would seem to cease to exist. The ego is totally unaware of the only real content in anything — Love. So the ego thought system is always seeking to capture our attention with appealing forms. This is part of its strategy to always seek but not find.

Believing we are separate from our Source, we always have an underlying quest to return Home. The ego cannot tolerate this return to truth so it will always seek to distract and redirect us to seek where truth cannot be found. This is what the world is for to the ego.

But the Holy Spirit offers another purpose for the world. To Him its only meaningful purpose is to forgive, to let go of the wish to be separate and unique. In the Holy Spirit’s hands, every moment is a teaching opportunity that will lead us to complete forgiveness, if we are willing to accept His lesson. Every moment can bring us more and more into the Light so that we see only the face of Christ everywhere — we see only innocence. This is how we learn that we indeed remain as God created us.

Today our practice is to be attentive to the Holy Spirit’s lessons and welcome them in each moment. Holy Spirit will help us untwist our knickers.

We Are Being Carried

The more we allow ourselves to be peaceful, the more we are open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration and help. In peace we let in the Holy Spirit’s guidance so that we recognize what to say, what to do, where to go and when.

Seeming synchronicities or coincidences occur that bring us the help we need or we recognize opportunities that are helpful. The Holy Spirit is always offering us help, but we need to be in peace to recognize this help.

Conflict, doubt and confusion are always of the ego. They always disturb our peace, yet peace is always available to us. This is why the practice of being mindful of our level of peace and pausing to return to peace when we are disturbed is essential to letting Holy Spirit be our Guide, moment by moment. With this practice, we learn that in fact we remain in God’s perfect care. We are indeed being carried.

Accepting Oneness with the Christ Mind

There must be doubt before there can be conflict. And every doubt must be about yourself. Christ has no doubt, and from His certainty His quiet comes. He will exchange His certainty for all your doubts, if you agree that He is One with you, and that this Oneness is endless, timeless, and within your grasp because your hands are His. He is within you, yet He walks beside you and before, leading the way that He must go to find Himself complete. His quietness becomes your certainty. And where is doubt when certainty has come?” (A Course in Miracles T-24.V.9)

Remembering that everyone is one with the Christ Mind helps us remember our oneness with the Christ Mind. As we see our brother, we are seeing ourselves. Today is a day of accepting the quietness and certainty that surely comes as we focus on our oneness with the Christ Mind.

Let Go and Let God

Today’s practice is to let go and let God… Today’s practice is to be as a little child and follow the guidance of our true Self… Today’s practice involves having an open mind — open to receiving and extending the peace and Love of our united Self… Today’s practice involves handing over thoughts that do not reflect God’s peace to be purified by the Holy Spirit…

We are grateful for the happiness and peace this practice brings to us today. This gift is guaranteed because God is Peace and His Will for us is perfect happiness.

Befriending the Holy Spirit

The extension of the Holy Spirit’s purpose from your relationship to others, to bring them gently in, is the way in which He will bring means and goal in line. The peace He lay, deep within you and your brother, will quietly extend to every aspect of your life, surrounding you and your brother with glowing happiness and the calm awareness of complete protection. And you will carry its message of love and safety and freedom to everyone who draws nigh unto your temple, where healing waits for him.

The Holy Spirit asks that you offer Him a resting place where you will rest in Him. He answered you, and entered your relationship. Would you not now return His graciousness, and enter into a relationship with Him? For it is He Who offered your relationship the gift of holiness, without which it would have been forever impossible to appreciate your brother. (A Course in Miracles T-19.IV.1:5-7;2:4-7)

The Holy Spirit’s purpose is to lead us out of the dream to the full awareness of our oneness in Love. We join with that purpose when we let the peace from deep within us flow through us and embrace everything and everyone. This flow of peace is blocked whenever we judge, so we feel lack of peace. This is why being vigilant for peace is a valuable step toward moving past it. It lets us know that we have made an obstacle to peace that needs to be let go. It is the Holy Spirit’s purpose to help us let it go.

The ego is afraid of the Holy Spirit, for it sees the Holy Spirit as a threat to its existence. When we are aligned with the ego, it seems that the Holy Spirit is asking that we sacrifice what we value. In actuality, the Holy Spirit is our only true Friend, Who will always be honest with us, showing us the deceit of the ego and its meaningless images.

It is time that we befriend the Holy Spirit as He has always befriended us. Let the Holy Spirit be our mighty Companion, Who will guide us truly to the joyful awareness that we are one with Love. Today we walk with our dear Friend, the Holy Spirit, and He will show us the Friend that is in everyone we meet.

Pausing to Receive Christ’s Vision

Behold the store of miracles set out for you to give. Are you not worth the gift, when God appointed it be given you? Judge not God’s Son, but follow in the way He has established. Christ has dreamed the dream of a forgiven world. It is His gift, whereby a sweet transition can be made from death to life; from hopelessness to hope. Let us an instant dream with Him. His dream awakens us to truth. His vision gives the means for a return to our unlost and everlasting sanctity in God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.159.10)

We cannot give what we have not received. Today it is our opportunity to practice pausing frequently to receive the Holy Spirit’s gift of Christ’s vision. Here we see everything anew. We see with forgiving eyes and see the Light of innocence everywhere.

We are lifted up and carried to the truth. Here the veil of separation is lifted. We are reminded to see past the images of the world to the changeless truth that we remain Love and nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. We are reminded not to take the world too seriously. Our highest priority is to let the Holy Spirit wake us from the dream.

Forgiveness Brings Release

There is no death because the Son of God is like his Father. Nothing you can do can change Eternal Love. Forget your dreams of sin and guilt, and come with me instead to share the resurrection of God’s Son. And bring with you all those whom He has sent to you to care for as I care for you. (A Course in Miracles C-5.6:9-12)

Loneliness, depression, illness, lack, fear and guilt are all effects of belief in death. If we accepted without reservation that we remain at one with Love as we were created, we would experience none of the effects of belief in death. This belief is nothing more than the mistaken idea that we could ever leave the Mind of God, that we could be separate and alone.

The remedy for these painful effects is to let the Holy Spirit share His vision with us. With His vision, we easily see past all the images of the world to the one Light that is the Love of God, our Self. This is forgiveness. The Holy Spirit is kind and will accept whatever willingness we offer without imposing His perception beyond our willingness to accept it.

The daily, moment-by-moment practice of bringing all thoughts to the Holy Spirit to receive His vision that shows the truth behind the false ideas builds our willingness. Our willingness grows each time we experience the release and deepened peace that forgiveness brings. This practice is the only meaningful use of time. It is the journey of return to our true Home in Love.
