Rise Above to See the Love

The whole Sonship is immersed in and one with God’s eternal ocean of Love. This is our Reality, now and forever. The questions I need to ask myself today are, “Am I willing to recognize Reality as Reality is? Am I willing to recognize God’s Oneness? Am I willing to let go and let God? Or, am I thinking that my thoughts of individuality and specialness are more important?”

Watching for this today and handing over every thought that stems from specialness is my practice for today. My willingness to step back and receive the truth from Holy Spirit is how I rise above to see the Love. It is this practice that brings me happiness today. And I give thanks.

The ego thrives on conflict. It is one of the ego’s chief mechanisms for holding specialness in place. There can only be conflict if there are differences, which is another way of saying specialness. The loving truth in me can only see the loving truth everywhere, united with itself. Thus any perception of conflict is simply a message to remind me to return to the thought that will set me free: “I am not a body. I am free. I am still as God created me.” This is how I disconnect from the specialness of body identification to rise above to see the Love.

The Training of a Teacher of God

In our reading this morning in A Course in Miracles, this is what stood out to us:

Yet there will be temptations along the way the teacher of God has yet to travel, and he has need of reminding himself throughout the day of his protection. …his success depends on his conviction that he will succeed. He must be sure success is not of him, but will be given him at any time, in any place and circumstance he calls for it.…  All through his training, every day and every hour, and even every minute and second, must God’s teachers learn to recognize the forms of magic and perceive their meaninglessness. (M-16.8:1,3-4;11:9)

My opportunity today is to be led all through the day. My prayer is, “I would not lead, but follow.” This is my mantra all through the day.

I am willing to accept the training of my inner Teacher. I am willing to learn how to recognize the meaningless and valueless and let it go. I am willing to accept the gift of perfect safety and perfect peace that will be revealed to me as I let go of what does not matter. I am willing to be taught today.

The Light of God Is Everywhere

The Light of God is all there is to see. A willingness to see this truth brings peace with it. A willingness to see beyond illusions brings joy with it. My practice for today is to welcome seeing past illusions to the Light of God, which is everywhere.

Harm can only be perceived when there is belief in separation. By definition, what is lost is separate from its source or what it belongs to. But if all is one, it is impossible to be separate from the Source of Oneness. Harm and loss are impossible, and peace is eternal.

Today I ask for help in seeing with Christ’s vision to recognize the eternal that is everywhere beyond the seeming images of separation. As I accept this vision, I recognize that I am whole along with all my brothers, for we remain in the oneness of our Source.

Allow All Obstacles to Be Removed

All I really want is the peace of God. His peace is already given me, but I am unaware of it because of the obstacles I have made that interfere with knowing the peace of God. All these obstacles are some form of judgment. The way to clear away the obstacles is to let go of judgment.

Because I believe that separation is real, which automatically brings judgment with it, I need Help from beyond what I believe to be true That can show me that my beliefs are mistaken. This Help is already in my mind as God’s Voice, Which speaks to me in every moment. I must be willing to hear It so that I can be taught that my beliefs are not true.

As I am willing to bring all my judgments to my inner Teacher, I can learn through His gentle guidance that my judgments are based on misperceptions. This is how I allow my judgments to be undone. This is how I allow all obstacles that interfere with knowing the peace of God to be removed. I give thanks that I have not been left without Help. With gratitude I am willing to learn the lessons of Love.

Right now, this moment, I have the opportunity to let go of all I think I know and open up to receive the healing Love of God. As I am willing, Love removes all obstacles. The only time I can do this is right now… I can open my mind to Love’s Presence right now… My practice for today is to remember that each present moment is another opportunity to let all obstacles be removed by Love’s healing Presence.

Welcoming the Holy Instant

How long does it take to experience a holy instant? Only an instant! But as we are engaged in the dreaming of the world, it seems that it requires a lot of attention to “prepare” for the holy instant. This is only because of unwillingness to let go of our investment in the values of the world.

The holy instant is experienced when my mind is at peace. But believing the forms of the world have value brings conflict with it. The more value I give to form in the world, the less willing I am to recognize that no form has value. Yet I have Help available to me in my mind to help me look past the surface of the form to the real content, or the lack of it. If I am willing, the Holy Spirit will always show me the real value, the content, behind the form.

To receive this gift, I need to bring my mind to the center of peace within. I need to be willing to come with empty hands, without requirements that dictate how the answer should come to me. This is what forgiveness does. It removes my attachment to forms.

A Course in Miracles tells me that vigilance is required to remember peace. The payoff is that I open my mind and heart to the Source of real happiness. I open my mind to the true Answer that frees me from the bondage of valuing the valueless forms of the world.

So today is another day for me to practice giving my attention to peace and letting my mind be open to the Holy Spirit’s vision that shows me the real value beyond the forms of the world. This is how I open to the holy instant.

The holy instant is always there in my mind, waiting to be accepted. It is only when I take the time to open to the holy instant that I experience its blessings. This is my practice for today — to provide a clean and open space for the holy instant. In this clean and open space lies the answer to every perceived problem.

Choosing the Stairs to Heaven

This stood out to us as we read A Course in Miracles this morning:

How can you know whether you chose the stairs to Heaven or the way to hell? Quite easily. How do you feel? Is peace in your awareness? Are you certain which way you go? And are you sure the goal of Heaven can be reached? If not, you walk alone. Ask, then, your Friend to join with you and give you certainty of where you go. (T-23.II.22:6-13)

This is so practical and helpful in helping me on a moment-to-moment basis through the day. The practice of paying attention to what I am feeling and thinking in the now moment is so helpful. Am I am being guided right now by my inner Teacher? Or have I once again shifted to thinking as a separate individual?

This takes vigilance throughout the day and remembering I cannot do this on my own. The ego thought system will never bring me peace or happiness. I have been used to thinking I am a separate person and seem to revert to this when I am not paying attention. This shows me how important it is to be vigilant for the level of peace I am feeling. When I notice I am not peaceful, I can once again step back and open to the blessings of the thought reversal provided by my inner Teacher.

This world of separate bodies is not my home. I have tried to make it my home, but now I can choose otherwise. The truth is nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. We are all still Love as God created us. I am truly helpful when I allow myself to remember that only Love is real. As I remember this with Holy Spirit’s help, peace returns. Simple, uncomplicated Love returns. I remember I am blessed, as is every brother blessed along with me. Gratitude…

Today I will choose the stairs to Heaven by being mindful of my level of peace. And with that, I will practice taking every disturbance to the Holy Spirit in my mind to receive His gentle, loving correction that helps me see the truth of changeless Love beyond the images of separation. This is how I will remember that I remain in Heaven, where Love would have me be.

From Uncertainty to Certainty

Uncertainty is a game we play that keeps us preoccupied with planning for the future and to protect our fragile image of what we believe we are. Our self-image in the world is so fragile that the way someone looks at us can seem to damage that image. The body in which this self-image is rooted must be constantly cared for a protected. It seems to be capable of doing things for which we feel guilty. Occasionally the body seems to do things that make us happy, but this happiness never lasts.

This constant sense of uncertainty and fragility is the result of believing in an image that is not what we are. Because of our strong investment in this belief, we need help from outside this belief system to find our way out of the flimsy “paper bag” that seems to contain us. Of ourselves alone, we could not fight our way out of this paper bag. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can learn that there is no paper bag.

We remain as God created us. We remain Love, at one with the Source of Love, where we live and move and have our being. We move through the Love of Heaven by joining in Love’s eternal extension.

Today is another happy day of practice in letting the Holy Spirit be my interpreter in every moment. This is how I will learn that there is no limit on me, God’s extension of Love. There is no paper bag.

Today it is my opportunity to remember that differences do not matter. The only thing that does matter is my willingness to see past the illusion of differences to the one pure Light of Love That is really there. As I let my mind return to the truth of Love’s pure Oneness, I am healed. And as I allow my mind to be healed, I become an instrument of healing, because all minds are joined. In truth we are all the same Light. There is no distance between us. We are the same Light. There are no differences.
