Let Love Replace All Thoughts of the World

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Imagine with Me that there is an inner sanctuary in your mind, a place where you would join with God’s peace… Imagine that you willingly go into this sanctuary because you choose to join with the peace of God…

Spend time accepting the peace that is yours… Let it melt away all belief in separation… Let it melt away all sense of limitation and lack… Just allow the many concepts you have latched on to to melt away…

You say to yourself, “I choose peace instead of this.” And if you notice any lingering resistance, just imagine yourself handing it over… and it disappears in the Light… You rest here a while… You allow simple, uncomplicated Love to replace all thoughts that were there before… You rest in the truth that only Love is real…

You are aware of the simplicity of salvation. You remember that nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. You let your mind gently soak in this healing truth.

You realize that all is well and that you and everyone in your dream are still as God created them… Nothing has happened but dreams, and dreams are not true…

You laugh a while with the Holy Spirit. You no longer need to take separation’s stories so seriously… You are freeing yourself from the chains of belief in separate bodies that have bound you before. You receive peace and extend peace…

Holy Spirit to Robert:
As you go through the day, remind yourself as frequently as possible that beyond what you see through the body’s eyes is Love and nothing else. Beyond all forms lies only Love. If you think of someone, tell yourself, “Beyond this thought of (name) is only Love.” As you look at the computer screen, remind yourself “Beyond this image is only Love.” Then ask Holy Spirit to help you be aware of the Love.

As you practice this with all your thoughts, all your perceptions of the world, you clear the way for Christ’s vision to show you the real world — a world without a past, only the joyous now. Thus will you recognize that all your problems have been solved.

Everyone Is Still as God Created Them

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today your practice is to focus on the truth that “everyone is still as God created them.” Opening to this thought consistently throughout the day removes the veil that blinds you to the truth. When you focus on what your body’s eyes show you, when you focus on the ego’s incessant stories of victimhood and vulnerability, you blind yourself to the truth. This is the thought reversal that is necessary to free you from pain and suffering.

Repeating that “everyone is still as God created them” is very helpful in removing the barriers to the awareness of Love’s Presence. Be be vigilant in remembering this today: “Everyone is still as God created them.”

Holy Spirit to Robert:
You are being carried, whether you recognize it or not. Accept this kind and gentle fact. The only effect of your attempts to plan for your safety and comfort is that the make you unaware that all your needs are already met, for you are being carried. You are sustained by the Love of God, for you remain within Its strong and gentle embrace.

Let this day be a day of practicing stepping back and letting yourself be carried in each present moment. When you step back, Love takes the lead. You will see Love reflected in the world in an easy, gentle flow of inspiration, happiness and peace.

Ask His Will in Everything We Do

Mary:
This morning we were guided to read the Epilogue at the end of A Course in Miracles Workbook for Students (page 487). What stood out to me was: “In peace we will continue in His way, and trust all things to Him. In confidence we wait His answers, as we ask His Will in everything we do.” (6:2-3)

This reminds me that I will continue in His way when I am willing to accept His peace. Accepting the Holy Spirit’s peace is the way that I trust all things to Him. I feel that my practice today involves letting peace carry me through the day and bring me to a place of joy. If I feel disgruntled or impatient about anything throughout the day, my practice today is to notice that disturbance and once again hand it to the Holy Spirit to be replaced by His peace. This is how I am brought once again to a place of inner joy. Peace… peace… peace….

Robert:
The less attached I am to appearances, the happier I am. If I am concerned about an appearance, I am judging. Judgment is the denial of Love, for Love does not condemn. The simple core message of the Course is, “I will forgive, and this will disappear.” (W-pI.193.13:3) Judgment stands as a wall that blinds me to the truth of What I am and of the gifts given me in my creation.

The ego is addicted to judging for its seeming existence depends upon it. The less I judge the world I see through the body’s eyes the more I am able to recognize the Love and peace and joy that is everywhere, ever present to be experienced. Do I want to experience God’s peace and happiness? The means is very simple: Let go of judgment. Nothing more and nothing less. Without judgment, illusions disappear and I am free to be as God created me.

Today I am blessed with another opportunity to clear away the blocks to the awareness of Love’s presence. Holy Spirit is my mighty companion, always ready to take my judgments and replace them with His single judgment that sets me free: Only Love is real.

I Am All Love Everywhere

Mary:
This morning as I woke up, the idea “…I am all Love everywhere…” was very quietly present in my mind. I asked my inner Teacher about this and was told that my assignment for today is to remember that I am all Love everywhere as frequently as possible as I go through the day. Along with remembering this thought, I am to allow in the feeling that comes along with… “I am all Love everywhere.”

As I quietly practiced it before I got up for the day, the feeling that came with it was very steady and peaceful. What also came with this was the idea that Love extends only Love, and that as I extend Love, I also receive the Love I am extending. Doing this brings a very full feeling of having everything that I want and need.

As I go through this day following these instructions to remember that I am all Love everywhere, I feel an inner happiness with accepting this assignment. Because there appears to be so many uncertainties in the dream, coming back to this again and again throughout the day really provides a sense of strength in stability that I always have everything I really want and need.

I thank the Holy Spirit for giving me this assignment today. It requires determination and vigilance on my part, but as I continue to apply it, I see that the benefits are great indeed. And I give thanks.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
To help you remember the Love that is everywhere and that you are, it can be helpful to imagine that there is a Light radiating out and illuminating your path. This Light prepares the way for you. It fills the shadows with Love so that the shadows disappear. It softens the images so that the one Love that is everywhere is easily recognized beyond the images. All you need to do is follow this Light of Love that goes before you, preparing the way.

Imagine yourself going through the day following this Light… Feel how it would feel if you let yourself follow this Light throughout the day… Every moment becomes an extension of Love… Every moment is filled with the peace and happiness that is part of Love… Every moment is a blessing… Every moment reminds you of Heaven and leads you along the way to your Home… There can be no more productive day than this. Accept the blessing.

Opening to Truth

Robert:
In today’s reading in A Course in Miracles, four sentences stood out to me: “Turn with me firmly away from all illusions now, and let nothing stand in the way of truth. …There is no veil the Love of God in us together cannot lift. The way to truth is open. Follow it with Me.” (T-16.IV.12:5,13:9-11)

This is very comforting to me. It is assuring to know that I have a mighty companion Who joins with me to turn away from illusions and open to the truth. In joining with Him there is no barrier, no veil, that cannot be lifted to reveal the truth.

Wow! Everything I need is available to me to help me wake up and return Home to the loving Heart of God. Today and every day I walk with a mighty Companion, a Friend indeed, always with me, always strengthening me, always ready to help me see the truth.

Mary:
The section that we read this morning is Chapter 16, Section IV, “The Illusion and the Reality of Love.” As I focused on reinforcing the important message held here, it struck me that my willingness is what allows me to experience the Love of God and my unwillingness is what holds me to illusions. The sentence that stood out to me today is, “To lift the veil that seems so dark and heavy, it is only needful to value truth beyond all fantasy, and to be entirely unwilling to settle for illusion in place of truth.” (10:4)

Today my focus will be to look at my level of willingness to value truth beyond all fantasy. Through mindfulness I will watch my state of mind and look at where I am still settling for illusion in place of truth. Once I see these areas as I go through the day, I can recognize them as the barriers to Love that they are. In an earlier part of this section I am told, “Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” (6:1)

This is my most important task today. I must be willing to look at where I am settling for illusion in place of truth and hand it over to my constant Companion, Who will show me where true value lies. It may look like I have other jobs to do today, but my most important job is this.

Forgive the World

Robert:
Judgment hides Christ’s vision from my awareness. It is impossible to hold judgment in my heart and see the innocence of Christ in my brother. The flip side of that is that if I see guilt in my brother, it is only a reflection of a guilt I see within myself. The bottom line is if I want to see and experience Love, I must let go of judgment, I must forgive.

Within the ego thought system there is no justification for forgiveness. The ego cannot forgive because true forgiveness would be the end of the ego. That is why we need help from outside the ego thought system if we want to forgive. That is why the Course tells us to bring all our thoughts of guilt and fear to the Holy Spirit for His gentle correction.

If I perceive someone as threatening or in some way capable of harming me, it is a sure sign that I have identified with the ego thought system. This is my opportunity to bring this perception to the Holy Spirit and welcome His beneficent Light. Holy Spirit’s Light always assures me that I am safe. If I am willing, I will be shown the error in my thinking that is the cause of the fear and I will be given a replacement for the false image that is fearful. I will remember that it is God’s strength and Love that sustains me. I am not sustained by the “good will” of the ego. I am sustained by the God Will of my Source.

Today is a day to practice remembering that I am sustained by the Love of God.

Mary:
Today is a day to remember What I am and Where I am in truth. The truth is that Love created me as an extension of Itself. Formless Love is What I am. I am not a body and a world of separation is not my home. My Home is in God’s oneness.

My practice today is to allow the memory of Where my true Home is to return to my mind. My practice today is to accept the peace and Love and joy of my true Home. If I allow the memory of my true Home to return, I will have a happy day. This is where my true happiness lies. Forgiving the world for all that I thought it was is the means through which I find true happiness. This is how I let go and let God.

Present Memory

Mary:
This morning we read the first section of A Course in Miracles Text, Chapter 28: “The Present Memory.” Here we are reminded that the Holy Spirit remembers our true Cause for us when we forget. And because the Holy Spirit is always there in our mind, our memory of God is always present in our mind, waiting in stillness for us to return to Present Memory.

Jesus tells us, “What you remember never was. It came from causelessness which you confused with cause. It can deserve but laughter, when you learn you have remembered consequences that were causeless and can never be effects. The miracle reminds you of a Cause forever present, perfectly untouched by time and interference. Never changed from what It is and you are Its effect, as changeless and as perfect as Itself.” (T-28.I.9:1-6)

True Cause is God, our Father. Here we are seeing that, through the Holy Spirit, our Father never leaves us. We are still safe in our Father. We did not leave Home. We merely dreamed we had a separate life of our own for a while. We, the one Son, are coming to the time when we are willing to remember true Cause and return to our Source. We know the way is made through our willingness to join with the Holy Spirit Whose purpose is to return us to Present Memory. “The stillness speaks in gentle sounds of love the Son of God remembers from before his own remembering came in between the present and the past, to shut them [the gentle sounds of love] out.” (13:6)

How wonderful it is that we are coming to the time of being willing to let the Holy Spirit lift the veil. How wonderful it is that we are at the time of joining with the Holy Spirit in happy laughter. As we are willing, it is done for us, and the memory of God returns. We give thanks that this time is now.

Robert:
There is no time to worry. There is no time to hurry. There is no time. Time was made as a mechanism to make separation appear real. Without time, there is only now. And now there is only Love.

This makes it very simple. To remember Love, I need only forget time. Time is the veil that hides the present from my awareness. It is in time that I harbor guilt and fear. It is time to stop giving “safe harbor” to fear and guilt. Because fear and guilt can only be harbored in time, and in truth there is no time, fear and guilt have no foundation. They are causeless and therefore do not exist in truth.

To this the ego responds “but remember when you hurt that person.” The key words in this statement are “remember when.” This reveals that the ego is using memory to drag along the past, to hang on to time.

But the Holy Spirit will use memory to remember the present, if I am willing. Thus the Holy Spirit uses memory to restore me to the experience of Love. In every moment I have the choice between the ego’s use of memory, which holds separation as real, or the Holy Spirit’s use of memory, which shows us that only oneness is real.

The more I am willing to let the Holy Spirit be my interpreter in every moment, the more I will be reminded of the happy present in Love.
