Giving Time to Melt into Peace

One of the most important gifts I can give to myself is to take time out from all the activities of the world and open to Holy Spirit’s gift of peace. To the ego mind, this seems very unimportant and a waste of time. But to the Holy Spirit, there is nothing more important than this.

Opening to Holy Spirit’s peace is the same as letting go of all I think I know. Peace dissolves all thoughts of being separate and alone. Peace dissolves all thoughts of lack and vulnerability. Peace brings awareness of the truth and shines away what is not true.

Am I willing to receive all this by consistently giving time to the Holy Spirit all through the day? Am I willing to be a happy learner? If so, I will make room for Holy Spirit’s gift of peace. This is my practice for today.

The ego sees giving time to melt into peace as a major demand, even overwhelming. It warns, “You won’t have any time left to do anything. You will have to spend all your time in meditation.” This is how the ego defends its quest to seek and not find.

If I have allowed myself to get wrapped up in the frenzy of the world, I may need to take an extended period of time to quiet my mind and accept Holy Spirit’s gift of peace. But this is only because of a tentative willingness. But if I am willing to push through the weak willingness and truly open to Holy Spirit’s peace, the world is seen with the clarity of the Light of Love.

If I am vigilant to recognize any slight disturbance and quickly redirect my focus to accepting Holy Spirit’s peace, it can be received in the time it takes for one breath, if I am willing. With this practice, my doing in the world becomes highly productive, because all my doing is guided by the Holy Spirit. This is my practice for today.
