Letting God’s Love Be Revealed

God is my Father, and He loves His Son.

My true Identity is so secure, so lofty, sinless, glorious and great, wholly beneficent and free from guilt, that Heaven looks to It to give it light. ²It lights the world as well. ³It is the gift my Father gave to me; the one as well I give the world. ⁴There is no gift but this that can be either given or received. ⁵This is reality, and only this. ⁶This is illusion’s end. ⁷It is the truth.

My Name, O Father, still is known to You. ²I have forgotten It, and do not know where I am going, who I am, or what it is I do. ³Remind me, Father, now, for I am weary of the world I see. ⁴Reveal what You would have me see instead. To deny our true Identity is to deny the Source of Life. Believing we are without the Life we live in God, we seem to dwell in a world where “life” is defined by death. It is an illusion of life. It is tiring to try to maintain an illusion of life as a replacement for our true Life as the Son of God. Everyone eventually tires of this efforting and starts to seek a better way.

As we become willing and open to accept God’s gift of all that He is to His Son, our true Identity, the substitute illusion of a world fades in the Light of His Love. Our heart yearns to awaken to our true Identity. We want to see with the Light of Love. It shows us that we remain at Home in the Heart of God. We are safe. We are loved. All our needs are met, for our only need is to accept and be the Love we are.

Today we welcome the revelation of God’s Love as we accept His help to see the Love beyond all forms in the world.

Awakening to the Life We Live in God

God is my life. I have no life but His.

I was mistaken when I thought I lived apart from God, a separate entity that moved in isolation, unattached, and housed within a body. ²Now I know my life is God’s, I have no other home, and I do not exist apart from Him. ³He has no Thoughts that are not part of me, and I have none but those which are of Him.

Our Father, let us see the face of Christ instead of our mistakes. ²For we who are Your holy Son are sinless. ³We would look upon our sinlessness, for guilt proclaims that we are not Your Son. ⁴And we would not forget You longer. ⁵We are lonely here, and long for Heaven, where we are at home. ⁶Today we would return. ⁷Our Name is Yours, and we acknowledge that we are Your Son. Everyone in the world feels there is something missing in their life. The ego sends us on countless searches for some form of specialness to fill that void. Yet no form can satisfy this sense of emptiness. Only the memory of our eternal unity with our Creator shows us that in fact, nothing is missing. Our true life remains eternally united in God. There is no life but the Life we live in God.

The path to awareness of the Life we live in God is given us through the Holy Spirit. The ego does not know the way, but the Holy Spirit does. Today we practice stepping back and letting Him lead the way, for we would awaken to the Life we live in God.

Choosing the Path to Safety and Happiness

God is with me. I live and move in Him.

God is with me. ²He is my Source of life, the life within, the air I breathe, the food by which I am sustained, the water which renews and cleanses me. ³He is my home, wherein I live and move; the Spirit which directs my actions, offers me Its Thoughts, and guarantees my safety from all pain. ⁴He covers me with kindness and with care, and holds in love the Son He shines upon, who also shines on Him. ⁵How still is he who knows the truth of what He speaks today!

Father, we have no words except Your Name upon our lips and in our minds, as we come quietly into Your Presence now, and ask to rest with You in peace a while. (A Course in Miracles, W-222. See also ACIM Lesson 222 Insights.)

If we want to experience a sense of security and safety, confident that all our needs are met and led to act with Love throughout the day, we need to do one thing consistently. We need to step back and let the Holy Spirit lead the way. This practice cannot be overemphasized. It will awaken us from the dream of lack and limitation, conflict and fear and guilt based on illusions of separation. 

We have become accustomed to relying on what the body’s senses tell us and believe our interpretations are true. But the body’s senses perceive only the ego’s illusions. We are being misled by the ego’s lies.

This is why the key to awakening is to resign as our own interpreter. The more we let the Holy Spirit interpret all our perceptions on our behalf, our days will be filled with increasing happiness, peace, kindness and Love. We choose Love as our Guide today.

Release from the Ego’s Demand for Sacrifice

²You want to accept God’s plan because you share in it. ³You have no will that can really oppose it, and you do not want to do so. ⁴Salvation is for you. ⁵Above all else, you want the freedom to remember Who you really are. ⁶Today it is the ego that stands powerless before your will. ⁷Your will is free, and nothing can prevail against it.

…God’s plan for salvation, and only His, is wholly in accord with your will. ²It is not the purpose of an alien power, thrust upon you unwillingly. ³It is the one purpose here on which you and your Father are in perfect accord. ⁴You will succeed today, the time appointed for the release of the Son of God from hell and from all idle wishes. ⁵His will is now restored to [the Son of God’s] awareness. ⁶He is willing this very day to look upon the light in him and be saved.

…tell yourself with gentle firmness and quiet certainty:

²I will there be light. ³Let me behold the light that reflects God’s Will and mine.

The ego tells us that God’s Will demands sacrifice. Yet this is a projection of its demand that we sacrifice the Love of God to obtain the specialness we seek. To have specialness, there must be differences. But there can be no differences in the oneness of God’s Love extended equally to all. God shared all of His Love when He created His Son. Differences cannot exist in Love’s oneness.

The recognition that we will there be Light is the acceptance of the Love that is our true Self. Our Self’s only desire is to be Love and nothing else. Being Love includes the continuous, joyous extension of Love without limit.

To accept Love we must give It. To know the Love we are, we must forgive the beliefs that deny Love. Through forgiveness, we see with the eyes of Love. We let go of the veil that has darkened our mind and let Love’s Light shine through us without limit. This is our only will.

Remembering We Are in Heaven Now

You are entitled to miracles because of what you are. ²You will receive miracles because of what God is. ³And you will offer miracles because you are one with God. ⁴Again, how simple is salvation! ⁵It is merely a statement of your true Identity. ⁶It is this that we will celebrate today.

Today we will claim the miracles [extensions of Love] which are your right, since they belong to you. ²You have been promised full release from the world you made.

…remind yourself that you are asking only for what is rightfully yours. ³Remind yourself also that miracles are never taken from one and given to another, and that in asking for your rights, you are upholding the rights of everyone. ⁴Miracles do not obey the laws of this world. ⁵They merely follow from the laws of God.

²Tell yourself often today:

³I am entitled to miracles.

Remember, too, not to be satisfied with less than the perfect answer. ²Be quick to tell yourself, should you be tempted:

³I will not trade miracles [extensions of Love] for grievances. ⁴I want only what belongs to me. ⁵God has established miracles as my right. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 77, W-77.1;3:1-2;4:2-5;7:2-3;8. See also ACIM Lesson 77 Insights.)

Our true Identity is one with God. All His attributes are ours—His Love, His joy and His peace. Only God’s Love is real and It extends eternally, always giving, never taking. Likewise, our true Self eternally extends Love, whether we are aware of It or not.

Our allegiance to the ego (belief in limitation and separation), makes our eternal extension of Love unconscious and unknown. To be aware of the Love we always extend, we need to let go of our wish for specialness and separation that keeps the ego in our mind. This wish splits our mind into two parts. The part the ego occupies is a dream. It is unreal and accomplishes nothing. But it makes us unaware of our real Mind that is one with the Mind of God.

The ego would have us believe that we are unworthy of miracles, we are unworthy of God’s Love extended to us without limit. This mistaken belief must be undone. If God has determined that His Son is worthy of His Love, it must be so. Reminding ourselves that we are entitled to miracles opens our split mind to be willing to accept God’s gift that is already ours.

Today’s practice brings the memory of our true Identity into the dream of separation. It brings Light into a world darkened by Love’s denial. It helps us remember we are in the Heaven of God’s Love now.

Releasing the Ego from Our Mind

All fear is past and only love is here.

All fear is past, because its source is gone, and all its thoughts gone with it. ²Love remains the only present state, whose Source is here forever and forever. ³Can the world seem bright and clear and safe and welcoming, with all my past mistakes oppressing it, and showing me distorted forms of fear? ⁴Yet in the present love is obvious, and its effects apparent. ⁵All the world shines in reflection of its holy light, and I perceive a world forgiven at last.

Father, let not Your holy world escape my sight today. ²Nor let my ears be deaf to all the hymns of gratitude the world is singing underneath the sounds of fear. ³There is a real world which the present holds safe from all past mistakes. ⁴And I would see only this world before my eyes today. The ego uses “memories” from the past to hide the presence of Love in the now moment. As long as we believe these memories are true, we will not be aware of the reality of Love in the now moment. The ego uses the past to overlook the present with made up stories about what may happen in the future. They are pure fiction based on illusions of the past.

These stories always justify fear and guilt for they are the glue that keeps the ego in our mind. Forgiveness of the past dissolves the glue. It releases the veil to reveal the present Love where we live and have our Being. This is how we make way for God’s gift of happiness and joy.

For every apprehension we can remind ourselves to forgive and the apparent cause will disappear because only Love is real.

Accepting the World’s Only Purpose

Forget not that the healing of God’s Son is all the world is for. ²That is the only purpose the Holy Spirit sees in it, and thus the only one it has. ³Until you see the healing of the Son as all you wish to be accomplished by the world, by time and all appearances, you will not know the Father nor yourself. ⁴For you will use the world for what is not its purpose, and will not escape its laws of violence and death. ⁵Yet it is given you to be beyond its laws in all respects, in every way and every circumstance, in all temptation to perceive what is not there, and all belief God’s Son can suffer pain because he sees himself as he is not.

Look on your brother, and behold in him the whole reversal of the laws that seem to rule this world. ²See in his freedom yours, for such it is. ³Let not his specialness obscure the truth in him, for not one law of death you bind him to will you escape. ⁴And not one sin you see in him but keeps you both in hell. ⁵Yet will his perfect sinlessness release you both, for holiness is quite impartial, with one judgment made for all it looks upon. ⁶And that is made, not of itself, but through the Voice that speaks for God in everything that lives and shares His Being. The ego uses judgment as a weapon to divide and conquer. This is how it maintains the illusion of separation and specialness. The Holy Spirit uses judgment to heal. Its singular judgment is very simple. It judges between the real and the unreal. It dismisses the unreal as meaningless and therefore nothing. It retains the real, recognizing it as Love and nothing else. This brings healing to the Son of God’s troubled mind. In the changelessness of Love there is no conflict, loss, harm nor lack.

As we step back and let the Holy Spirit judge all things on our behalf, we join with Holy Spirit’s purpose, the only purpose for the world. We see our brother as the Love he is instead a body, different from us. Every brother is recognized as part of our one Self, the Son of God.

Today we relinquish our own judgment and welcome the Holy Spirit’s judgment. For we would be free from fear and awaken to the changeless Love we are.
