We Remain United with Our Creator

My holiness shines bright and clear today.

Today I wake with joy, expecting but the happy things of God to come to me. ²I ask but them to come, and realize my invitation will be answered by the thoughts to which [my invitation] has been sent by me. ³And I will ask for only joyous things the instant I accept my holiness. ⁴For what would be the use of pain to me, what purpose would my suffering fulfill, and how would grief and loss avail me if insanity departs from me today, and I accept my holiness instead?

Father, my holiness is Yours. ²Let me rejoice in it, and through forgiveness be restored to sanity. ³Your Son is still as You created him. ⁴My holiness is part of me, and also part of You. ⁵And what can alter Holiness Itself? (A Course in Miracles, W-285. See also ACIM Lesson 285 Insights.)

God created us as extensions of Himself. He did not disconnect from His Creation. We share all His attributes — His holiness, His Love, His joy and His peace.

We do not see ourselves as having God’s attributes because we have denied our unity with Him. The ego turns that denial around telling us God abandoned us. It is this core belief that we need to forgive. This belief that we are separate from God is played out with the image that we are a body in a world of separate bodies in separate things. Each time we forgive, when we are able to see past the form to the presence of Love, we are forgiving the belief that we are separate from God.

The myriad images of separation in the dream make it appear that there is much to forgive. But at their core there is one thing to forgive — the belief that we separated from God. The invitation to accept His holiness as ours expresses our willingness to accept His gift of all of Himself. The Holy Spirit is given us to help us recognize our mistaken beliefs and let them go.

We will awaken to our holiness as we let the Holy Spirit teach us how to accept that we remain united with our Creator.

How to Have a Joyous Day

Choosing through the Holy Spirit will lead you to the Kingdom. ²You create by your true being, but what you are you must learn to remember. …⁴If you allow yourself to have in your mind only what God put there, you are acknowledging your mind as God created it. ⁵Therefore, you are accepting it as it is.

Truth is without illusions and therefore within the Kingdom. ²Everything outside the Kingdom is illusion. ³When you threw truth away you saw yourself as if you were without it. ⁴By making another kingdom that you valued, you did not keep only the Kingdom of God in your mind, and thus placed part of your mind outside [the Kingdom]. ⁵What you made has imprisoned your will, and given you a sick mind that must be healed. ⁶Your vigilance against this sickness is the way to heal it. ⁷Once your mind is healed it radiates health, and thereby teaches healing.

²The Holy Spirit will enable you to take this step, if you follow Him. ³Your vigilance is the sign that you want Him to guide you. ⁴Vigilance does require effort, but only until you learn that effort itself is unnecessary. Today can be a day for opening our mind to remember we dwell in Love. It can be a day of peace and happiness. We experience this day by being vigilant of our thoughts. As we observe thoughts of judgment, we ask the Holy Spirit to show us His perception. He will show us the Love beyond the image that we judge.

We can celebrate with the Holy Spirit our loving thoughts that embrace the truth of the Love in our brothers. There is no greater joy than accepting our oneness in the Love of God. We express our gratitude throughout the day that we have the Holy Spirit to guide us to this recognition.

We Find Peace in Our One Self

The ego’s fundamental wish is to replace God. ²In fact, the ego is the physical embodiment of that wish. ³For it is that wish that seems to surround the mind with a body, keeping it separate and alone, and unable to reach other minds except through the body that was made to imprison it.

⁴A person says something you do not like. ⁵He does something that displeases you. ⁶He “betrays” his hostile thoughts in his behavior.

You are not dealing here with what the person is. ²On the contrary, you are exclusively concerned with what he does in a body. ³You are doing more than failing to help in freeing him from the body’s limitations. ⁴You are actively trying to hold him to it by confusing it with him, and judging them as one.

…every grievance that you hold insists that the body is real. ⁷It overlooks entirely what your brother is. ⁸It reinforces your belief that he is a body, and condemns him for it.

…while the body stands at the center of your concept of yourself, you are attacking God’s plan for salvation, and holding your grievances against Him and His creation, that you may not hear the Voice of truth and welcome It as Friend.

The light of truth is in us, where it was placed by God. ²It is the body that is outside us, and is not our concern. ³To be without a body is to be in our natural state. ⁴To recognize the light of truth in us is to recognize ourselves as we are. ⁵To see our Self as separate from the body is to end the attack on God’s plan for salvation, and to accept it instead. We cannot be at peace while we identify with a body. The body is a limit made to hide the Self God created as His Son. But God and His Creation cannot be limited, except in fantasies. We have accepted the fantasy of separation with the wish for specialness.

We believe the body is our identity and accept its vulnerability. We believe we can harm and be harmed and must constantly defend the body. We hold grievances against other bodies that seem capable of harming us.

The Self we are knows no limitations and disregards the body as meaningless. Our Self knows it is joined in the one Self that unites us with everyone. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us recognize the one Self that joins us with everyone. In that recognition, we will find peace.

Gratitude for Our Oneness in Love

³To everyone who lives will Christ yet come, for everyone must live and move in Him. ⁴His Being in His Father is secure, because Their Will is One. ⁵Their gratitude to all They have created has no end, for gratitude remains a part of love.

Thanks be to you, the holy Son of God. ²For as you were created, you contain all things within your Self. ³And you are still as God created you. ⁴Nor can you dim the light of your perfection. ⁵In your heart the Heart of God is laid. ⁶He holds you dear, because you are Himself. ⁷All gratitude belongs to you, because of what you are.

Give thanks as you receive it. ²Be you free of all ingratitude to anyone who makes your Self complete. ³And from this Self is no one left outside. ⁴Give thanks for all the countless channels which extend this Self. ⁵All that you do is given unto Him. ⁶All that you think can only be His Thoughts, sharing with Him the holy Thoughts of God. ⁷Earn now the gratitude you have denied yourself when you forgot the function [of forgiveness] God has given you. ⁸But never think that He has ever ceased to offer thanks to you. We are united with everyone as the Self that is God’s Son. If we perceive anyone as an adversary, we have first decided that we are separate. We are denying the Self God created as His Son. Neither we nor our brothers are ego’s. But in the dream the ego we think we are sees other ego’s as separate. This is the basis of all conflict.

In this dream of ego’s battling ego’s, forgiveness is our only meaningful purpose. Through forgiveness we release the barriers that hide the unity of Love. In truth, we are united in one Love and share the Will of God.

When we let go of the barriers to Love, gratitude is inevitable. We feel the joy of extending Love as we unite with the Love that is the truth in everyone. When we forgive the image of a separate brother, we simultaneously forgive our own image as a separate identity. We shift our viewpoint from a separate identity to a recognition of our oneness as the one Son God created. We are one Self. There is no distance between us. And we are grateful that this is so.

Being a Bearer of Light

am the light of the world.

²How holy am I, who have been given the function of lighting up the world! ³Let me be still before my holiness. ⁴In its calm light let all my conflicts disappear. ⁵In its peace let me remember Who I am.

Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world.

²It is through accepting my function that I will see the light in me. ³And in this light will my function stand clear and perfectly unambiguous before my sight. ⁴My acceptance does not depend on my recognizing what my function is, for I do not yet understand forgiveness. ⁵Yet I will trust that, in the light, I will see it as it is. As the extension of God’s Love, our true Self is Light. Light knows no limits. It can be stopped by barriers of denial of Love, but forgiveness dismisses those barriers. We cannot bring darkness to Light but we can bring Light to darkness to dispel it. We bring Light today through forgiveness, letting go of belief in separation.

We ask the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and help us see past barriers to Love’s presence. When something disturbs our peace, we ask for His help to recognize that only the presence of Love is real. We are safe in Love.

Seeing the Love We Are in Everyone

Forgiveness offers everything I want.

Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. ²It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind.

Why would you seek an answer other than the answer that will answer everything? ²Here is the perfect answer, given to imperfect questions, meaningless requests, halfhearted willingness to hear, and less than halfway diligence and partial trust. ³Here is the answer! ⁴Seek for it no more. ⁵You will not find another one instead.

God’s plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. ²Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. ³Changelessly it stands before you like an open door, with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home, where you belong.

Here is the answer! ²Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within? ³Forgive and be forgiven. ⁴As you give you will receive. ⁵There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. ⁶Let us today rejoice that this is so, for here we have an answer, clear and plain, beyond deceit in its simplicity. ⁷All the complexities the world has spun of fragile cobwebs disappear before the power and the majesty of this extremely simple statement of the truth. In the dream, judgment is used to maintain separation. It declares that what we judge is different from what we are. This guarantees conflict.

Yet there can be no conflict in the Son of God. The Son is the extension of God’s Love and remains eternally united with Him. There is no conflict in Love because Love is one and changeless.  The veil of judgment is dispelled.

We call upon the Holy Spirit to help us let go of the judgments that divide us from our brothers. We want to see him as the Love he is in truth. And in this recognition, we learn that we are Love as well. We remember the joy and peace that is our Home in the Heaven of God’s Love.

We Welcome Peace of Mind

In fearlessness and love I spend today.

This day, my Father, would I spend with You, as You have chosen all my days should be. ²And what I will experience is not of time at all. ³The joy that comes to me is not of days nor hours, for it comes from Heaven to Your Son. ⁴This day will be Your sweet reminder to remember You, Your gracious calling to Your holy Son, the sign Your grace has come to me, and that it is Your Will I be set free today.

We spend this day together, you and I. ²And all the world joins with us in our song of thankfulness and joy to Him Who gave salvation to us, and Who set us free. ³We are restored to peace and holiness. ⁴There is no room in us for fear today, for we have welcomed love into our hearts. To welcome Love into our hearts is to see ourselves as one with everyone. In that oneness there is no cause for fear. Nothing exists outside of Love, so we are certain of our safety. As Love extends without limit, when we join with it, we know the joy of being in the eternal flow of Love.

This is our natural state. When we welcome Love, we accept our true Self. We experience peace of mind, for there is no conflict in Love. We welcome Love when we accept the Holy Spirit’s interpretation of all our perceptions. He shows us our unity with our Creator. We learn we dwell in Love.
