I Will There Be Light

Today we reviewed Workbook Lesson 73, “I will there be Light.” This is not saying that we need to make Light happen. It is simply acknowledging what our will is. Our will is God’s Will, which is Light. The only reason we don’t experience the Light that is our will is because we are hiding from it by hanging on to grievances, aka judgments.

It is helpful to recognize the signs that we are covering the Light with grievances. Sadness, impatience, frustration, struggle, pain, unworthiness, fear and anger are some of the symptoms of holding on to grievances. These grievances hide the eternal Light within, making us unaware of It. We see our grievances reflected back to us by a darkened world, which shows us seeming justification for our grievances.

But as we lay down our grievances, the Light within begins to shine through and we see more and more reflections of Love (Light) in the world. Sans grievances, the world becomes a happy place of joining with our brothers in the oneness of our shared Self, the one Son of God.

Today’s practice is to be vigilant for signs of grievances and, with each one, remind ourselves, “I will there be Light. Darkness is not my will.”
